Nothing amounts to the joy I have in telling each and every customer "No sir, I am sorry but Walmart policy states that when you do not have your receipt I cannot return any items over ten dollars in value." or even better "Sorry sir, but after 90 days I cannot return any item that is broken due to normal wear and tear. If this was a manufacturer defect you should call the company and talk with them about a replacement, would you like their help-line number?"

Rules and regulations are there for a reason, if they fail to understand or take note of these things then it's their own fault. Most people don't seem to realise their receipt is basically proof that they bought it and not stole/found.

This is from a consumers stand-point, people need to use their ******* head and get a grasp that they aren't the most important thing in the world. We're not all stupid man.

In my experience, when someone wants to return something without a receipt, I have to tell them that I can't accept it, because without the receipt there is no proof of purchase. But that's not what the customer hears. What the customer hears is " look suspicious. I bet you stole that", which leads to "Come on, I bought it a couple of days ago, and you can trust me", aaaand that's when the ********* starts, when I have to decline, and the manager is called because just about nobody is willing to accept that the rules apply for them as well.

Oh God, you are so right. I work at Tim Hortons. When we are out of something, let's say Sweet N Low, and a customer orders it, I get an erection from telling them we don't have it and they're all like, "Rah rah what do you mean... I'm rustled..". Goddamn, I ******* love it.

Am I a bad person?

I work at a call center and from much experience I can say that 90% of them don't care. We are trained heavily to act like we care.

Used to work on USS Enterprise in ADP (IT shop) we had this same picture behind the helpdesk by the phones, ha ha ha! HAHAHA!!! I always felt that way when some commander called and got no where because our network was so damn slow. Like, 2 profile servers for 5000 people, what you expect!
