Educational budget > Military budget.
Educational budget > Military budget.

PBS is costing us nearly nothing.
What is the pointless war in Afghanistan costing? an average of $7.8 billion a month

HOWEVER, good shows, like sesame street get there money from selling toys. and honest to god other that that PBS needs some serious quality check ups, but also receives support from viewers like you. thank you.

matter of perspective.

Bush wasted 8 trillion dollars in iraq against a foe that is undefeatable(religion constantly attracts new members)

Please explain how a kids show does not deserve funding, but a war that kills hundreds of soldiers for no reason but lowering a number that will not affect america if they just pull out of the middle east does.

The reason America's in the **** is how much money we're spending on war. Sure, putting everyone and their dog in prison takes a large chunk of money, but it PALES in comparison to the amount of money we're spending on killing people. People say, "Oh, tax the rich more", but even if Bill Gates and Oprah were taxed 100%, not a penny of that money would go to help the people who need it, but you know the military would get some shiny new canons.

As a very smart guy Raymond Teller said, we're using money we don't have to kill people we don't know for reasons we don't really understand.

A future without intelligence is a dim one indeed.

But yeah, let's just cancel all child educational programmes that barely scratch the funding of the armed forces budget. That'll help!

I feel like everyone in this country thinks that cutting military spending is like dumping tanks into the ocean

Best part about this; five YEARS of funding for PBS equates to what it takes to purchase, arm, maintain, and fuel four Predator drones for one mission each.

There for, argument invalid.

i could imagine the fear in the enemies heart
at first they would laugh at our troops and poke fun at them
but soon they would have nightmares of giant talking birds sneaking up and murdering them
it wouldn't be long until they actively avoided fighting the giant bird
feeling terror every time they saw a yellow feather laying on the ground

I see their point but when PBS and NPR (both our under the same budget) about 500 million a year isn't that much compared to the 676 BILLION spent by the department of defense. The same department that would not put aside even half a billion to help wounded soldiers find work yet its big bird that's draining the government? Lets get real Romney only cutting pennies compared to defense and he wants to increase their spending which will probably end up being more extra money spent on the military than would be gained by Romney "cuts"
p.s. Gary Johnson 2012

Well considering we needlessly spend billions upon billions on the military and PBS has to hold fund drives every other week I really don't see the point in cutting the funding PBS gets, because apparently the government doesn't give it **** to begin with.

I'm sure at the expense of 1 tank, we could fund PBS for 5 years.

Cutting funding from PBS instead of the Military is like a person not buying a new calendar each year because their electric bill is too high from constantly leaving all the lights on.
