I'm muslim and I find this funny.

Even the comments about how everyone expects to die soon are funny to me.

Not every muslim is like that though. Many I know just might explode from anger, know what I'm saying? They like to blow things like these out of proportion. It's just a funny picture after all :)

youre a muslim and you find this funny?

I find the joke creative but i dont find it funny, cause i know its not true, you however, sell your religion for thumbs. You act as if youre better than other muslims by accepting jokes that insult the prophet.

I bet you drink too and go out, but you dont eat pork right? ami right.

Don't drink. Going out isn't haram by the way, so you got your facts wrong.
And eating pork isn't always haram either, if you'd read the Qur'an properly and if you had been able to practise the Idjtihâd rather than blindly following fatwas from people who don't know what they're talking about.

Humor is something personal and is related to the personal perspective of a person, so it'd be rather funny if you'd actually dare state that you know my perspective on the matter.

I find it funny for multiple reasons, it being untrue is one of them.

And next time you try to insult someone like that, don't do it as anonymous.
And I don't do things for thumbs. I made several jokes in it, just to make people laugh. Thumb me down if you want, thumbs are irrelevant pieces of date that do not contribute to my wellbeing at all. Because if you are truly a muslim, you'd know that you're not supposed to be affected by outside events, and should be able to maintain inner peace at any given time, under any given circumstances.

If you're up for more discussions about Islam, feel free to debate with me. It'd be an excellent exercise for me, considering I'm in my first year of Islamic sciences and culture, on a Bachelor level.

So bring it anon.
And have a nice day.

#120 to #108 - insanefreak (10/12/2012) [-]
It is against the Qur'an, hence, it's haram. But I'm modern, and I know times have changed, so I don't blindly follow them.

In fact, when practising the Idjtihâd (the Sharî'ah are all the rules, which are found in the Qur'an, Idjtihâd means comparing the context of where you live to the rules, and come to a realistic conclusion, an often recurring mistake in the media), I believe it isn't wrong at all, considering it's something that, well, happens. If you love a guy as a guy, or a girl as a girl, I can't really say it's wrong. I don't get it, but that's just my own limitation being a hindrance.

My personal opinion is that it's acceptable. I find it weird, I'll be honest there (it's a strange concept to grasp when you are straight. I don't understand it, like some science concepts. I know it's so, but I don't understand it. No offense meant with this at all), but as long as the love is pure and meant to create rather than destroy, I support it. However, I do believe that there should be, in the case of adopting children, or even without, always a more male (in the sense of the Qur'an, where a male has to financially support his wife (and any other woman he is responsible for (such as his mother, if his father died, his sisters, if they're unmarried and not living with his parents) persona and a more female, just to keep a marriage even.

If both people only take care of the same aspect, then there will be an abundancy in one area, but a shortage in the other. But that's already a more technical view on the matter, and more personal.

So to form a simple conclusion: I am not against it, nor do I approve of people trying to stop it through means of violence or pressure. If your parents want to try to talk you out of it, it's fine to me, since that's something that happens regardless if they think you have a bad partner. If it is love, and your intentions are pure, then go ahead and enjoy life the way you want.

Nothing I can say even comes close to the glorification I want to give you. Nothing.

I live in the Netherlands where there are a lot of Muslims (mostly Turks) and on a whole they're just so much more tolerant and understanding of homosexuality, while Islam is perhaps the most misunderstood religion.

This is coming from a guy that, up to 3 years ago, found that hijab's should be outlawed in public.
#139 to #132 - insanefreak (10/12/2012) [-]
You can't really blame people for misunderstanding Islam, when most muslims misunderstand it in the first place. Go ahead and try to ask around what Idjtihâd means, most won't even know the meaning of it.

And when you have extremists like the Sharia4country groups running around the place, you really need to perform miracles to get the word out that they aren't talking about the Sharî'ah at all, but just a tiny, violent part of it (the corporal punishments, which also go through an official trial to make sure the circumstances are known, for example: murder is punishable by capital punishment, but if the murder was justified, for example, because it was in self defense, then everything changes.)

Idjtihâd makes up most of the religion, since it connects the Sharî'ah with the real world, and makes sure you look at the rules in the right light, but unfortunately enough, most muslims aren't even aware of it, something extremists make use of with the utmost greed.

I'm Belgian by the way, and most muslims over here are good, kind people, but with a few more pushy ones around, and a large amount of largely atheistic youngsters with too much time on their hands, following the wrong people.
Islam is a beautiful thing, and learned a lot from Christendom, but with how the people are these days, most of it is hidden in the shadows of the extremists who always appear in the media. That, and the Islam went through some political **** back in the days, essentially destroying a lot of good things as they grew, including a fatwa that prohibited Idjtihâd, despite it being a part of the Sharî'ah.
User avatar #154 to #139 - foxxywithpaws (10/12/2012) [-]
I'd love to but I probably wouldn't know how to pronounce it. hehe

The older generations of Muslims in the Netherlands are mostly the "quiet type", by that I mean you never really hear anything about them. They prefer to keep to themselves. It's mostly the youngsters that are the asocial, disrespectful assholes.
I really only have first-hand "experience" with Turks, because they're more sociable towards the Dutch. Even the youth seems to keep closer to (proper) Islam.

The sociability is probably because the Netherlands and Turkey have had diplomatic relations for 400 years (since 1612! :D )

Flanders or Wallonia?
#160 to #154 - insanefreak (10/12/2012) [-]
I'm Flemish.

And the pronounciation? Well.. That's hard, considering the different in accents between West-Flemish and Dutch.. I think you got it right though.

And the older generations are often kind, gentle, and don't bother a soul, while the younger generation are just, well, kids who hang out in groups with too much free time on their hands. And since they can't get drunk and fall unconscious, they get into other trouble. It's more of a human issue than of a religious one at that point.

The most pleasant thing about Islam, to me at least, is how everyone is more open to each other than most Europeans. If you enter a room filled with strangers, everyone will walk up to you and at the very least give you a handshake, if not a hug. (everyone from the same sex, you don't do handshakes with strangers when it's cross-sex, but you do nod or say hello to each other)
User avatar #163 to #160 - foxxywithpaws (10/12/2012) [-]
Hmmm, that might be Belgian culture. The Dutch are sociable yet to-the-point, in for a joke yet very sober. We're individualistic yet we have a word that can't be translated to any language.
"Gezellig" (you probably know it if you're Dutch-speaking)
It can mean cosy, inviting, pleasant, entertaining and togetherness.
#165 to #163 - insanefreak (10/12/2012) [-]
I know the word alright.

And well, it depends on who you are with. I've been with people who beat around the bush, or 'rond de pot draaien' to say it in Dutch, but there are also people who are awefully direct, such as most people in my family, up to the point of being rudely direct in order to avoid any misunderstanding.

And I will travel to the Netherlands with a friend, to meet some of his friends and hang out together a few weeks from now, so I'll might be able to see this from up close, something I'm looking forward to.
User avatar #172 to #165 - foxxywithpaws (10/12/2012) [-]
I have to say though, Belgians/Flemish are much more inviting from the get-go.
And yeah, a lot of Dutch people are very direct, barbarically almost, it's mostly farmers that do that.
"Dutch manners are frank with a no-nonsense attitude; informality combined with adherence to basic etiquette."

Oh and Dutch humour is often seen as dark, sarcastic, bold and sometimes even rude, making fun of everything and everyone. ¦P

User avatar #63 to #60 - HarvietheDinkle (10/12/2012) [-]
You clearly don't care yet you're replying (to the wrong comment, may I add). In full paragraphs, too - which means you actually are taking the time to think of an argument.

The intent to insult others is universally considered wrong. You might not care but don't expect me to stop saying that.
User avatar #65 to #63 - mussyo (10/12/2012) [-]
I did not expect you to stop, in fact, I would fight for your right to voice your opinion, does not mean I care, as for the amount of care you are "accusing" me of harbouring, it is just enough care to defend myself not care about you :), your point I do not care 2 ***** about, until it goes beyond an opinion and to some coherent objective fact, I will continue not to care.
User avatar #54 to #50 - mussyo (10/12/2012) [-]
that was supposed to spell pretentious, secondly I do not have to explain myself to you, thirdly freedom of speech, a right you so loving use yourself.

Save it kid, nice attempts at humiliating someone who does not care enough about this or you to try and educate you :D but I will defend myself.

as for this hilarious sentence structure thing, they do not have to be related at all, its your socialisation that creates the links. There is no objective truth to what you are saying. While him being an american is relative to what I said, as in he is an ignorant person who IS american, not you are ignorant because you are american.
User avatar #59 to #54 - HarvietheDinkle (10/12/2012) [-]
Technically, you're correct that the clauses don't need to have any correlation. Anyone knows that if a sentence is set up like that, it'salways assumed that the two are related. There are certain colloquialisms in speech that don't depend on the technicalities of grammar.

Also, kid, freedom of speech, while a right, doesn't mean you're not a douchebag when belittling someone who disagrees with (and is not trying to humiliate) you. I shouldn't need to educate you on this.

Because of these insults, too, I don't have to give you the benefit of the doubt and believe you when you say you have "another criteria" for saying what you said. If you can't explain yourself when the burden of proof is on you, then the truth can be said to be the norm - in this case, that you were associating ignorance with a certain country.

One more thing - I never corrected your spelling. Check who you're replying to when you're "not explaining" yourself to me.
User avatar #64 to #59 - mussyo (10/12/2012) [-]
I don't care about what you think, I have a right to a private life, I DO NOT have the burden of proof, i have no legal or moral obligation to you. Assume what you want, you only further the thing that you are hating on me for, assuming based on practically nothing.
User avatar #69 to #64 - HarvietheDinkle (10/12/2012) [-]
I'll just address everything in this comment.

You may not think the point about intent to insult is objective (and I can't see why not); I think it is. Clearly this issue will never be resolved.

But I did notice something - what if I think that your "right to a private life" is a subjective, personal opinion that you want? Using your same logic I won't pay attention to your so-called right until you have an objective argument. You seem to be contradicting yourself.

In addition, I disagree; if you insult others then you can't use the "private life" as a cop-out excuse (which it most certainly is).

But if you can't address my other points, and you seemingly "don't care" to anyway (which seems like a huge cop-out), then don't expect people to address you as a logical person. If you want people to think you didn't mean to correlate ignorance with America then you have to back it up. You shouldn't, logically, expect anything otherwise - thus, for the sake of reason, you have an obligation to explain yourself. Thus, the burden of proof is on you (and, ironically, you should prove why it isn't if you still believe that).

Other than the insult issue, everything else has been an argument of logic, not of morals/opinions.

right half of what you wrote, makes no sense to me. The right to a private life while a "LAW" and "RIGHT" has its roots in subjective opinion, However the fact that I have that right is a "FACT"

I can say the same exact thing to you: your arguments are self-sustaining, contradictory, and cop-outs.
Pray tell, which points haven't I addressed? Your lack of explanation (about most of my questions) not only makes it seem that you yourself haven't addressed points, but that you're bring contradictory about addressing arguments made.

And I'm still not accepting that because you "don't care" or you have a "right to privacy" that you have addressed my points. No - that's finding a loophole to not address them.

Speaking of which, your right to privacy is a law based upon subjective ideals (in this case, privacy). It's a subjective law with a moral, opinionated need. Thus, I can ignore your right as much as you can ignore my not-as-subjective right to not be belittled. You can't not see the contradiction here.

User avatar #83 to #81 - mussyo (10/12/2012) [-]
I said its not objectively founded but it is A FACT, you should read what I wrote, I addressed everything you repeated in that comment.

Secondly, I don't care what you THINK, I know what is correct here, I do not have to explain anything to you, I have NOT contradicted myself and I have the right to NOT CARE and will continue to USE that right.

See what I did there was, I highlighted key points with BIG letters, in the hopes that you may get it. Either way buddy, I respect your attempts at being an intellectual. Keep at it.

Someone's awful mad that they don't have any points and can't understand mine because they were never educated enough. Even then, I doubt that'd do much for you.

Nice try...you were the first to give up on your points but you don't seem to be willing to give up on your undeserved pride.
User avatar #218 to #217 - mussyo (10/19/2012) [-]
more **** , can't say I'm surprised.
User avatar #223 to #218 - HarvietheDinkle (10/22/2012) [-]
Ohhhh you're mad, I can see... very mad. Yet you call me mad in order to hide your teenage angst, your frustration with being utterly illogical. You're one of those people who can't relent, who can't let their pride be overcome by their humility.

You're wrong when you say I'm mad. In fact, I'm having fun manipulating you so well that you can't even see it.
Your own fascination with being hypocritical is astounding. It almost boggles the mind to see how utterly pathetic you can be. You present no specific points yet you expect others to back them up. You think yourself higher than others? You're in fact one of the most utterly pathetic, easily manipulated people I'm ever encountered.

To top it off, you consider yourself an intellectual. This is sad - you can't see past your own nose, to notice that you didn't actually support what you said. Not a single thing, actually. Until you address those points you will be nothing more than an incessant pest trying to bother others, but, ultimately, failing.

Even more sad and idiotic is that you think yourself right. You clearly were hated by the FJ community from the moment you started talking, and now you've dug yourself a hole so deep you need to drag others down to your impossibly low level.

Keep it up, kid. I'm not the one here who's busy gargling cock and angrily typing on the keyboard.

haha thanks for writing a book for me. do continue you waster :)

Wehey, and he is back.
Keep commenting, I can see the fact that you could not understand something has got you really riled up, your comments do nothing but ensure me you still care about the fact that I do not consider you or your point an intellectual equal, I will continue to comment back to these because I can literally feel how much it makes you angry and sad at the same time.

I know a 100% you are going to comment back disputing everything I said, but that does not make it any less true :D

Till next time mad fag.

(see what i did there? you probably didn't so I'll explain it to you: you're a ******* hypocrite)
User avatar #222 to #221 - mussyo (10/22/2012) [-]
Once again your lack of intellect is embarrassing, what you just did and said is absolutely retarded, how you can't see it I don't know.

Keep going though, I want to know you care about what I think, so much that it makes you angry, so angry, but you have no where to vent it, but useless comments that do not phase me. Waste your time, I will not relent. You are pathetic beyond words, your points have stopped making sense a long time ago, your argument is weak just like I am betting you are.
User avatar #219 to #218 - HarvietheDinkle (10/21/2012) [-]
you mean what's coming out of your mouth?
you made an assumption and never backed it up
you said you have the right to insult others but expected others to respect your right to privacy.
you keep saying that i miss your points when you refuse to explain them, and expect that "logic" to work.
yeah, I'd say it's **** .

Ok cheif, here we go.

1) If it's not objectively founded don't expect me to stop wanting you to explain your original point.
2)You THINK what is correct here. I KNOW what is correct here. See what I did? By hiliting these big fancy words here, I'm showing you how I can say that I'm right and you're wrong. You're clearly not an intellectual yourself; you don't seem to know how to conduct academic discourse.
3) Why can I do this? You haven't addressed points such as what your other criteria was when creating your original sentence. You also have contradicted yourself countless of times.
4) I'm simply confounded as to why you can't expect me, if I disagree with you, to keep arguing. You're simply uncomfortable because of the very same garbage they you keep repeating.
5) If you want me to stop arguing because you're becoming uncomfortable then address all my points. And when you reply back saying "I have addressed all your points" keep in mind that I clearly don't think that. This lack of awareness of what my argument is is part of the reason we (or at least I) have had to write a number of paragraphs trying to get across an idea of the arguments presented.

TL;DR Don't say that you know you're right and expect me to agree; I can do the same exact thing. Also address my points (and don't expect me to think you did).

Literally tired of having to repeat myself, If you do no understand what I am saying, Don't get petty, go read some more.

it's funny how you say you're not bothered yet you keep replying. This is fun.

I can literally sense the butthurt flowing through you.
#208 to #207 - mussyo (10/16/2012) [-]
Keep going mate, repeating yourself does not make it any more true. Thanks for playing, better luck next time.
User avatar #209 to #208 - HarvietheDinkle (10/16/2012) [-]
Oh, I'll keep going because there is indeed no way for it to be any more true; it's already as true as it can get. Keep denying yourself, and maybe you can shut out all the sounds around you when big people are talking.
User avatar #210 to #209 - mussyo (10/16/2012) [-]
hehe, hit and a miss :D
#191 to #188 - HarvietheDinkle (10/12/2012) [-]
And I can literally say the same exact thing. If you don't support your arguments, are contradictory, and are overall disorganized in your arguments you fail. And that is what has happened with you. You can't even see it which is doubly sad.
User avatar #192 to #191 - mussyo (10/13/2012) [-]
why do you feel the need to apply your absolutes to me, regardless of what I say. You are ignoring what I say to repeat what you want, that is not something I want to be a part of, I know what is right here and I do not need to explain that to you. Quite childish you saying these things that you want to be true :) it's cute.

Also nice picture, try again :)
User avatar #196 to #192 - HarvietheDinkle (10/14/2012) [-]
It's getting fun to be able to predict when I'll be getting notifications back. However, it's almost sad, too.

Now it's a "Yes, no, yes, no" conversation. Obviously we disagree with each other, and you're getting more and more angry by the second. It's hilarious.
User avatar #198 to #196 - mussyo (10/14/2012) [-]
what are you talking about, I really am not mad, you are nothing to me, you keep jabbing and copying things i say haha you literally are no where near phasing me. it's cute that you try.
User avatar #193 to #192 - HarvietheDinkle (10/13/2012) [-]
You keep ignoring your own hypocracy. Literally everything you say about me can be applied to you. I feel the need to point this out because maybe, somehow, it will sink in.
User avatar #194 to #193 - mussyo (10/13/2012) [-]
I have also noticed you are recycling my words, cute. No I have done non of what you said. It's cool that you are stubborn for the sake of being stubborn.
