Morbo agrees as Earth humans are weak, insignificant creatures that should not be respected.

Thats not how the United States was built,
it was built by gathering collective knowledge and wisdom
Everyone shared their ideas and though there was conflict a collective truth was born
Hell without that, there would be no Bill of Rights
People always attack and tear each other apart instead of working together

Problem is we got too many arrogant pricks who never want to open their mind or actually believe they aren't as smart as they think they are.

Granted a few exceptions, and plain stupidity, but still
User avatar #38 to #34 - joyfullreaper (10/10/2012) [-]
Well a lot of things have changed since then for better or worse. For instance, did you know that the founders of the United States were strongly opposed to having political parties.
User avatar #136 to #38 - infinitereaper (10/10/2012) [-]
I believe one of them said something like "there should be many factions to maintain balance." But today we pretty much only have 2.
User avatar #142 to #136 - joyfullreaper (10/12/2012) [-]
They intended for the branches of the US government to be perceptually butting heads instead of two parties. Although they had also thought that the parties would be state-based rather than have an independent existence so that might be how this all somehow works anyways.

That's ******* right! I don't get why some ideologies such as Judaism or islam benefit from a certain protection and you can't say **** about them, but some cults or the belief of unicorns for example can be made fun of and torned apart without anyone saying **** .
Religions should have the statue of any other ideology, it should have the right to both exist and made fun of (or any moral degrading act)

i respect everyone's right to practice whatever religion they choose to believe in, its their choice to do so and who am I to question it, even atheism.

but what bothers me most is why are most atheists so mad all of the time? if they truly believed that this is it and there is nothing after this life then shouldn't they be the happiest mother ******* on earth since this is the only life they will have???

That's what causes the conflict in the first place. That, in itself, is ignorance.

I agree we should acknowledge others beliefs, because we cannot change no matter what we do. Live with them in harmony to the best of our ability. Blatantly saying, " **** you, that's stupid." is just as bad as whoever is doing it.

But other than that I still ******* love Mr. Oswalt.

There's a difference from having subtle religious beliefs, to radical and violent "manifestations", such as the white supremacy Hitler seemed to think he had.

My opinion is that religion is harmful to humanity and our progress. Only sometimes is it actually harmful to the individual, and I don't think many atheists would disagree with that.

Unless what you believe is literally based off of Calculus, it is no less stupid or moronic than what some else believes. Logic is subjective, and experience and reasoning is unique to the individual. Contrary to popular belief, no one person's mind is exactly like another.
User avatar #92 to #86 - benjaminbutton (10/10/2012) [-]
The purpose behind logic is to be objective though. If logic was subjective, humanity wouldn't progress much at all.
User avatar #99 to #92 - theaceofthespade (10/10/2012) [-]
Unfortunately, humans are subjective, and sense they are the ones "practicing" logic, we very seldom get to see purely objective reasoning
User avatar #94 to #92 - vivapinatapro (10/10/2012) [-]
Logic simply describes both the study of modes of reasoning (which are valid and which are fallacious) and the use of valid reasoning. What is considered "valid reasoning" is not universal. It's subject to the individuals opinion. Everyone has different reasons for thinking a certain way. Logic, in the sense of reasoning, is subjective.
User avatar #96 to #94 - benjaminbutton (10/10/2012) [-]
Yes to Human's it is Subjective, but like I said the idea behind logical premises and arguments is to be be objective, because of Human's though the concept is subjective.

User avatar #114 - dtox (10/10/2012) [-]
I think "respect" has become synonymous with "tolerate" now-a-days.

That's what I think people should do, tolerate other people's beliefs, so long as they're not willing to force those beliefs onto you or others (perhaps share them, and try to promote those beliefs, but not force them). Respecting them would imply some level of admiration, and I'm fairly certain that's something people don't want to have to do.

You also shouldn't make a complete ass of yourself thinking that someone is somehow wrong in their belief.
