The British lion sits atop a mound of the riches of its empire.
The French are holding their position while calling for aid.
Spain slumbers, while Portugal keeps urging it to arise for war.
Imperialist Russia strikes valiantly, yet it is infested from within by maggots and flies.
Germany bombards its enemies with heavy weapons and refuses to give an inch.
Austria-Hungary stabs downwards into Serbia, which does all it can to hold their assault.
The Ottoman Empire spies at Britain and France, waiting for them to make a move.
Italy is a nest of snakes that is ever wary of the Austro-Hungarian and German machines.
And the Swiss clock is content to simply watch and wait out the conflict.\

... At least, this is what I see. Can someone clarify if I'm wrong?

Yes, Serbia is also represented by a skeleton because we had the greatest losses in WW1 (when you look at the percent of the population that was killed), people say that almost every second household was without a man in it.

I agree with you
this is from the official description:
Norway and Sweden are both Scandinavian trolls in the style of John Bauer, an inspirational illustrator from the era who produced a lot of phenomenal work during the war.

Look at the picture again. It's too low, where Greece should be.

Obviously borders change, especially during wars. Germany's border to Denmark isn't nearly that high up now, either.
