explain the reasons its better please
User avatar #464 to #459 - jamhamington (10/09/2012) [-]
far superior graphics, more realstic physics, eg running, hopping walls, being able to run for more than 5 seconds, it's more like an actual real warzone, eg snipers can be in hills rather than running around noscoping in small tight maps, just the whole game is alot better
User avatar #466 to #464 - admiralen ONLINE (10/09/2012) [-]
i can accept the graphics part even though i dont see much difference, i wouldnt say its more realistic as theres loads of unrealistic **** in bf, normal people cant sprint for very long, the maps being smaller means theres more action, and i disagree in general of it being better
#468 to #466 - jamhamington (10/09/2012) [-]
if you had a high end pc you'd see the graphic difference more, yeah but this isn't really normal people we're talking about this is elite soldiers who train every day, wake up every morning and run for miles? and yeah but that's not what real combat's like, running round a corner and getting shot by the same person 5 times in a row after respawning, yeah maybe it still has unrealistic features, but it's a game not a simulator it can't be completely true to life but it's alot more realistic than cod, and yeah bulletdrop exists in real life, you can't just aim at a spot 2 miles away dead on and expect it to hit dead on, like i said, realistic.

User avatar #469 to #468 - admiralen ONLINE (10/09/2012) [-]
except, its not more realistic, the sniper is the only weapon with bullet drop, and soldiers who train every day still cant SPRINT for long periods, who said you dont run around corner getting killed 5 times in bf, in fact bf has a worse spawning system since its focused on spawnpoint, and i wouldnt care if it was unrealistic if people didnt spam "its more realistic then cod herp derp"
User avatar #474 to #469 - jamhamington (10/09/2012) [-]
you obviously haven't played it much because every gun has bullet drop over distance and it's better, you can choose what part of the map you'd spawn in rather than just been thrown into the same **** spawns where you're more than likely spawntrapped or something, and they can definitely sprint for longer than they do in cod anyway
User avatar #478 to #474 - admiralen ONLINE (10/09/2012) [-]
but i do love physics destruction (destroy buildings) bf beats cod on that part, otherwise i prefer cod
User avatar #475 to #474 - admiralen ONLINE (10/09/2012) [-]
im saying a real person cant sprint for long trained or not, the bulletdrop in itself is a stupid pointless part of the game, and if enemies are at most of your spawnes you can get spawncamped, something that wont happen in cod since its random every time
User avatar #467 to #466 - admiralen ONLINE (10/09/2012) [-]
and sniping from a hill was almost impossible thanks to bullet traveltime/bullet drop

I would agree Activision's Modern Warfare's are the same,(Not to say I didn't find it entertaining playing through it), but Treyarch's CoD is very impressive to me. I'm not sure how many of you paid attention to Black Ops story, but it was very well done, and it succeeded in surprising me entirely.

On top of that, they used music from the time period and made a time of the Cold War into an intriguing game. Genuinely made me interested in it when we learned about the time in history back in high school. Just my two cents.

i loved Black Ops, the ******* twist was awesome and i bet all of people who played it went OOHHHHHH at the end. anyways i liked the style of the missions ("story telling"/flashback) all in all great game and great multiplayer(at least on PC since we got mod toolz :D) i only bash on mw series which is utter **** (at least for PC), except the first mw.
User avatar #217 to #204 - Yojimbo (10/09/2012) [-]
Yea, that caught me completely off guard, but apparently the first letter of each mission spells "Reznov is dead". I like when games throw in easter eggs like that.
#229 to #217 - vaskaduzea (10/09/2012) [-]
yeah, i especially loved the way it ***** with your mind. for example that mission(pre mission) when you are walking thru pentagon you seem to notice things you didn't notice when you were there like spies and **** . seriously that game had a ******* awesome plot. hey, i don't know if its just me but did anyone else try playing a blops drinking game, like before every mission it gives some info and some info gets marked you gotta guess what info stays clear, if wrong take a shot. i got wasted, my friend knew all of 'em. ************ only later told me he already played the game :D

The history of Modern Warfare is good, I honestly like it, sure the multiplayer and graphics are the same year after year, but the graphics doesn't make the game,at least the story is good.
User avatar #298 to #188 - rockamekishiko (10/09/2012) [-]
well if they didn't use the same car models, the same computer generated sounds (which are horrible btw) and the same repetitive mission over and over then yeah i guess the story is left.

User avatar #24 to #17 - Faz (10/08/2012) [-]
The content isn't saying they are all CREATED by activision but published by activision, by you saying WaW wasn't done by activision then you would have to say all the games weren't done by activision.

I'm sorry, but where does it say that?
User avatar #26 to #25 - Faz (10/08/2012) [-]
It doesn't need to say it, its implied. Activision did not create any of the CoD games, World at war isn't the only one.

they're trying to keep it at some level of realism, so I doubt shooting hitler right after he had you at gun point would make a good ending.

Dimitri does get shot and falls down, but just by some random German soldier having a picknick on the roof of the Reichstag.

User avatar #6 to #4 - thenukecity (10/08/2012) [-]

You shouldn't dislike CoD because other people hate it. You should dislike it because it's turning the entire gaming industry into a homogenized pile of crap.

Five years ago, triple-A games were far more varied than they are today - you can look a a line-up and see the difference. How many 60$ map packs have come out in the last few years? How many grey-brown shooters set in deserts are there nowadays? How many shooters in general?

If you want to play it, then you should know that the hate it gets isn't because they're poorly designed games (though they are, and extremely poorly designed games at that), but because they are killing the video game industry.
User avatar #343 to #309 - unknownvsthirteen (10/09/2012) [-]
The video game industry isn't being killed by Call Of Duty. Call of Duty is a franchise, it's a series. Every year they release a NEW COD not a BRAND NEW SHOOTER. People forget that it's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Call of Duty: World At War, CALL OF DUTY MW2, CALL OF DUTY... CALL OF DUTY.... CALL OF DUTY......................

The gaming industry is dying because not many GREAT GAMES are being made. There isn't a shooter that's perfect. Arguably BF3 is one of the best Strategy, Objective Based First Person Shooters, while Call of Duty is one of the best Fast Paced Kill Based Shooter.

But call of duty is still a series. Think of it as a show. Episode four might be your favourite episode, but episode 8 might be boring.
Im a fan of the show, so Ill be tuned in for the next episode, but you don't have to

User avatar #340 to #309 - defeats (10/09/2012) [-]
They are set in the desert because of the conflict in the Middle East, it relates to what people are seeing on TV, to where our own troops are.
It's also very likely to where World War 3 begins.

And if these games manage to entertain millions of people for 2 or 3 years like Modern Warfare 2 did, it's hard to see why you think it's ruining the gaming industry.
