Came across this on FB

Do you believe in Evolution?"
Oh, so you believe in Creationism?"
Well, that' s because you' re asking the wrong questions."
You asked fl believe in evolution-"
and my answer is no. I don' t 'believe' in evolution anymore than I
believe' in gravity. You say it like there' s a choice in the matter; I don' t
choose' to believe it; I acknowledge its overwhelming evidence oftruth
and accept its almost infallible existence."
Yes, almost, because, in the world, not everything can be certain, and
science accepts and embraces that. And you may ask me to prove
evolution' s existence, and I can' t do that. However, science challenges
us to prove it wrong; that' s called the scientific method. Evolution is up
for the challenge to be questioned, and that' s why I accept it, and all
science, because it happens to have the balls that creationism does not."
Creationism allows for those to dis-"
No, it doesn' t. Can you think of a way to disprove creationism?"
Well, no, that' s why I believe it. If it can' t be disproved, then that' s
truth; that' s what your scientific method-"
No. Scientific method says ‘Here' s something that, with the correct
result, disproves me. But f not, well, it doesn' t mean I' m true, just
means I' m less false.‘ Creationism doesn' t have the guts to say that, it' s
hides behind the fact that there' s no universal way to disprove it and has
the audacity to say it' s true. That' s not science; that' s cowardice."

. . . when someone asks if you believe in Evolution and you say no simply because the question was worded in a way you don't like, you're essentially a dick.

I have a question/statement for evolution peoples!! If you take all the bits and pieces of a pocket watch into a box a shake it to oblivion, no matter what happens, you will never get a pocket watch. So how is it possible that the same doesn't apply to the universe, even though the universe requires so much more precision and stability?

A person doesn't need an account to call someone out. Whether or not they have an account is completely irrelevant to their argument.

Now honestly what the hell was the point that guy was trying to make? Could he really not just have replied "yeah i'm an evolutionist." Doing this just makes him look like a pompous asshole who thinks he's "scientific" or some **** .

Man honestly atheists are becoming raging dicks, you claim religion is so bad and how they force their views and opinions on everyone when all the atheists do is try and disprove religion and say how science truth and that people who don't believe in evolution are closed minded, I'm agnostic but man atheists are becoming assholes
User avatar #63 to #26 - andalitemadness (10/08/2012) [-]
I have nothing against religious people, but it does annoy me when people try to "disprove" atheism with ****** methods and claim that intelligent design has more basis in science than evolution without anything to back themselves up.

Internet me is a douche. I acknowledge and accept this as it's how I blow off steam and stop being an ass in real life.
After all, it's much easier to be mean to a block of text and a picture than it is to be mean to a face.

Marcus Aurelius.

“Live a good life. If there are gods and they are just, then they will not care how devout you have been, but will welcome you based on the virtues you have lived by. If there are gods, but unjust, then you should not want to worship them. If there are no gods, then you will be gone, but will have lived a noble life that will live on in the memories of your loved ones.”

if creationism would be true, why didn't god create some badass things like dragons, pokemon (no matter what you think about it, having a ******* charizard would be badass), centaurs (not the gay ones), minotaurs or magic irl?
so either god is a boring douche, or he does not exist.

Rhinos, Elephants, Komodo Dragons, Sharks, Dinosaurs are all cool.

If we grew up with dragons or pokemon we'd think they're "boring animals".

I was going to reply with a thought out comment, but it turns out Lilith is from the Jewish folklore, so instead I ask:

What do you have against gay centaurs and does your prejudice extend to all homosexual and well endowed mythological creatures?
User avatar #75 to #70 - ViXi (10/08/2012) [-]
Well in an alternative reality one could ask why didn't create some badass things like dinosaurs, armadillos, penguins, sharks, or baloons.
Just thinking relatively.

#9 - anon (10/07/2012) [-]
This guy's a prick. He's having a conversation with himself to be sure it will come out the way he wants. And he has the nerve to call creationists cowards. Nothing, whether science or religion, can be proven beyond a shadow of a doubt. Beyond reasonable doubt, perhaps. But who is to decide what can be classified as reasonable in a world where nothing is definite.
User avatar #132 to #9 - Fgner (10/08/2012) [-]
I've always hated the "nothing can be proven" thing. Funny, I've never seen the laws of physics spontaneously change one day. If I drop an apple, it's going to be pulled by gravity to the Earth, how the **** can you say that that's not proven?
