In the movie they both tried to get on the door and it flipped. So Jack held it together so Rose could climb up. Just form Rose alone the "Door" was partially underwater leaving Rose slightly in water. She also almost froze to death just form that little amount of water.

Now had Jack got on there, the amount of water on there would of doubled but still stayed afloat. So instead of them both freezing to death, Jack allowed Rose to live with his OWN choice.

God these "bitch could move over" thing got old quick.

1. They tested it on Mythbusters.
2. The door wasn't necessarily oak.
3. It's a bloody movie, news flash, not everything in movies is accurate.

All of your arguments are invalid.

All of the doors on the ship were attached when the ship sank. Even if a door were to come loose, it would still be contained within the ship.

You captioned something from a T.V. show. Stop complaining about someone "stealing" it.

Just watched the mythbusters experiment on this. They could have survived if they tied Rose's life jacket to the bottom of the door which would make it float enough for both to survive. But James Cameron said no matter what Jack would've died.

The door still has to be able to keep them both out of the water and they would have to distribute the weight perfectly so it didn't tip over

to bad people forget that they are soaked in water...
User avatar #36 to #28 - heartlessrobot (10/08/2012) [-]
Also, as he attempted to get on it, it would tip, sending both of them into the water. Also, she'd fall off as she moved over.

He's using ******** maths by the way. He's saying the amount of water that fits in the space of the door would be 396 liters (1kg = 1l)
