Walmart has some pretty good hoodies for like 8 bucks around the winter time.

Target also has some decent hoodies, but they're like 15ish.

It was fulfilled by Amazon, and it came from a legitimate company, so yes. In any case, it's a fantastic suit.

Just a tip, $5 shoes aren't gonna hold for **** . Better buy some Nike or Converse shoes. They're not cheap but they hold for ******* ever.
User avatar #159 to #118 - juicymilkbottles (10/07/2012) [-]
If you want shoes yo last you a long time, get Dr. Martens.. They literally last you a lifetime.

i have a pair of merrell's i paid $60 for, and i've been wearing them everyday for i think over 3 years now. I admit they're fairly worn out, but they still function, and i suck at buying shoes, so they stay for now.
User avatar #123 to #118 - allglory (10/07/2012) [-]
umm.....converse shoes are actually pretty cheap. and they certainly dont last that long
User avatar #145 to #123 - ishalltroll (10/07/2012) [-]
The classic canvas ones don't really hold long no, but most other models do. I had even better results with Nike though, that **** never gets worn down.
User avatar #128 to #123 - allglory (10/07/2012) [-]
well, the classic cloth ones dont last anyway

I got some converse basketball shoes once. like high tops. they were $25 I think. they stayed together for like 3 years and I beat the hell out of them.
User avatar #139 to #133 - allglory (10/07/2012) [-]
theyd probably be good in a warm climate with little season change. once they hit winter they fall apart

I disagree. I wore them through 2 michigan winters.

I see the point of this and agree with the idea, but I don't think that he needed to exaggerate so much.

I've never seen a $4 hoodie or $5 shoes, and HIGHLY doubt that Bill Gates wears anything truly cheap. Although I'm able to buy slightly more expensive stuff, I regularly wear the cheapest Hanes white cotton shirts because they're comfortable as **** , and I don't care about labels. Comfortable shoes are far more expensive than $5 (even my pair of cheap flip-flops cost me more than 5 dollars).

In short, Bill Gates almost surely wears expensive clothing, so I think the artist could have portrayed it a bit more believably.
User avatar #4 - symustafa (10/07/2012) [-]
I bet Bill Gates clothes are worth more than that. Plus, it depends on what you do. Most mainstream musicians fit the criteria on the left. On the right, well....
For example, my dad is wealthy. He wears clothing that kinda looks like what Bill Gates usually wears(shirt, pants, shoes) When you check the labels inside.......they are probably stuff like Ralph Lauren, Hugo Boss etc.
User avatar #7 to #4 - blarto (10/07/2012) [-]
Actually, Bill Gates buys his clothes from Target (or Kmart I can't remember)
#173 - DrollHumor (10/07/2012) [-]
Well then you have to think about the quality of the purchase. Five dollar shoes, wherever the hell you find them, will probably survive two steps outside and then fall apart. It's okay to buy things that are slightly expensive, like a pair of $50 shoes, it means that they are good and will last a long time thus making it worth the extra money. But if you buy $500 shoes, then you're not paying for quality; you're paying for a label and that's a waste of money.
#184 to #173 - anon (10/07/2012) [-]
Ever since I worked a job at Dollar General I just bought $10 (almos 7 when they go on sale) Wal-Mart 'Converse Style' sneakers as my work shoes, even when I was on my feet 8+ hours a day 4-5 days a week they lasted around 2-3 months a pair. I dont work there anymore and now I just wear them for day to day activities (except when I go out on dates/etc) and its been almost a year since I recall buying a new pair.

I understand what you're trying to say, and for some items that is most definitely true. But from what I've noticed alot of times people who saying it are people who just want name brand for Pete's sake, not that there's anything wrong with that. Just something I've noticed

I usually get skater shoes as they just seem indestructible and are able to be used in any occasion (climbing, walking, party, wedding etc.) mine lasting 4 years and still going good. ~$40. And I always get cloths about ~2-3sizes bigger and get a belt. I dont know if Im a 'cheapskate' or I have no money.

I have to disagree with you there. I've worn cheap shoes that lasted almost 5! Yes, FIVE steps, before the stitching fell apart and the lining crumbled into dust.

Going in to an interview with a button up shirt and slacks is different than wearing a $600 necklace like this picture portrays.

Only rich people can afford to not spend money.
A poor man buys a $10 dollar pair of boots. After 7 months, they wear out, then he has to buy new ones. Over 5 years he has spent $70.
A rich man buys a $40 pair of boots. Due to their good quality, they last for a great deal of time. Over 5 years he has still only paid $40
