To whomever it may concern,

The language is called Irish. A minuscule percent of the country can speak it fluently and an even smaller percent use it daily. Calling it "Gaeilge" is like calling French "Francais", there is no ******* point.

Sincerely,
Everyone with a brain.

Hello to all the Irish out there, I need to know this, I'm going to a boarding school in Ireland, and I was wondering if you could tell me whether or not Irish as a language is difficult, any reasons as to why it is or isn't would be appreciated.

No.
Most of Ireland speaks english, except for a few parts.
Personally, both of my parents speak Irish (gaeilge, not gaelic)
So I learned both Irish and English growing up, Irish being my first language.
In the Irish language, 'Irish' is called Gaeilge, we have no language called Gaelic here.
