Its funny by the amount of people who try to prove their irish by going to google translate, the majority of us dont speak irish, and the people on this site are just ************

Just because you can't speak it doesn't mean the rest of us can't.
Grow the **** up kid.

correction some can like i went to an all Irish primary and secondary school and know many people who attended as well ,,, actually round my area there would be a pretty high number of Irish only schools and they would be the most popular choice for the kids round here so you never know the language isn't completely dead and a lot more people that you may not think ,, might have had a lot of exposure to the language even if their not fully fluent they may understand the basic structures of the language which is enough for them to put together coherent sentences in reply to each other,, although the grammar and tenses of the sentence may not be perfect ,, it can be assumed that the general point of what the are saying can be understood . An example would be that of someone who has broken English when they are talking their English isn't correct but what they are saying is easily identified by someone who speaks the language better. Just saying like anyone in Ireland who was any good at Irish in school can more than likely hold a general conversation in Irish.

Life threatening? Like bombs or something? haha

I went to Cork in 2001, can't remember much.
User avatar #359 to #356 - dafukdude (10/04/2012) [-]
nah got hassled at a club for having a "dirty southern accent" a few years ago, along with a few other counts of sectarianism.
Cork is nice a friend of mine goes to college down there
User avatar #362 to #359 - radamski (10/04/2012) [-]
Sectarianism is stupid. It really is just a reason to hate someone nowadays. It doesn't make someone a bad person just because they are Protestant or Catholic or whatever.

Yeah I'd love to go again

I like how everyone who is Irish is having conversations in Irish.

I DON'T UNDERSTAND A SINGLE WORD

That being said, I myself am Irish, and I barely passed every test I ever had.
