Good lord that's actually the smartest thing any villain has ever done
User avatar #18 to #3 - ompalomper (09/30/2012) [-]
no, getting a kryptonite bullet and a sniper to take out a particular journalist on the daily planet would be the smartest thing a villain has ever done
User avatar #90 to #18 - points (09/30/2012) [-]
Someone used a sniper rifle and a kryptonite bullet to shoot at Clark's father in the show Smallville. Clark tried to casually stop it with his band but it went through his hand and into his chest... he lived (obviously) but barely. Clever villians.

Link incase you're interested... the first few seasons were good: www. youtube. com/watch?v=LXKtLqA04Bc

I hadn't seen this in a while but...
It wasn't a sniper rifle, just a scoped submachine gun- and he was aiming at Clark not his father. Oops!

How did they get the bullet out? Kryptonite scalpel?

The thing I've always wondered is whether Superman's "bulletproofness" makes him numb to all normal sensations like sex or itching. If he DOESN'T gain any pleasure from sex with Lois then how does he get his kicks? ******* mountains in his spare time? If he for some reason DOES have normal sensation in his penis, then why hasn't anyone just shot him in the dick?

The guy stands like this for chrissake. Just begging to be glocked in the cock

He's bulletproof cause he's apparently dense enough to be. But for some reason he's light enough to ******* fly.

Well according to Irredeemable, The Plutonian, who's pretty much exactly like Superman, doesn't have heatvision/ x-ray vision/ superstrength/ speed/ flight but his only ability is to control molecules, which means he can alter everything around him.
User avatar #108 to #105 - merrymarvelite (09/30/2012) [-]
Sentry from Marvel Comics had a similar deal. I'm pretty sure it was explained that his powers came from the ability to alter reality immediately around him.
User avatar #113 to #108 - akinto (09/30/2012) [-]
So who knows that might be Superman's ability too

It's a joke, it's funny because everyone knows Clark Kent is actually just a nerdy guys who could never be superman, and Lex is just playing along.

Sound logic until you realize that once they know who he is, all they have to do is find his address, wait until he's sleeping, and than stab him in the face with kryptonite.

1.) Kryptonite isn't like common graphite that you can just find laying around on the ground
2.) Superman has Super-hearing, so he would hear you sneaking around. Then, he could just throw his bed at you.
3.)The more logical thing to do would be to kill his parents, pin it on someone innocent, and send him into a bloodrage, where he would kill that person and look evil, which would scar Superman for life.

This is why I like Luthor (or at least this rendition of him, like Supermn:TAS). He doesn't just want to kill superman, that would lead to a hero's grave. He wants to ruin him. Ruin superman the way superman ruined Luthor, since when he stopped major crimes, they were almost always king-pinned by Lex. It's a dream we both share, Luthor and I, a simple dream: to be remembered. After 100 years, how mny of us will be remembered for our actions? After 1000 years how many of our names will still be recognized by the general public? President of a country is pretty good, right? But how many of us can name the 25th president off the top of our heads? It is even less likely to know what they were remembered for. Luthor knows how to be remembered. He knows that only the absolute best and the absolute worst are remembered for so long. And you know what happened? Out of ******* nowhere, this prick superman comes in and demolishes Luthor's chances at becoming one of the greats. So he did some shady stuff, who in his position hasn't? All he did was make things worse. At least Luthor's "crime" was organized. Now? Chaos. Well superman cut Luthor's chances at being the good guy, but not only that. He's REPLACING him. **** that, if Luthor is going down, he's taking superman down with him.

tl;dr Luthor did nothing wrong, and Superman: The Animated Series should e watched by every single child in the world.

Also, why the **** does superman still need to be Clark? Does he not have enough money to keep his crystal fortress in the ******* north pole?

Actually, in the New 52, the costume is armor and does add a lot of protection. But if we're talking pre-reboot, then yeah he's just as immune either way... No one here cares.
#70 to #31 - hsm (09/30/2012) [-]
the new movie costume looks really great IMO
User avatar #39 to #31 - hirollin (09/30/2012) [-]
I care. It bothers me deeply that the aura was replaced by armor essentially. I feel that it could work for some other characters like Supergirl, but it just makes Superman less super, and that's not the Superman I remember.
