In Canada, it's legal as long as you don't get caught... No seriously, according to the government prostitution is not illegal as long as it's not a threat to public order or offensive of public decency, in other words, if no one knows you're doing it, it's cool.

The reasoning behind it is that prostitutes generally have a high risk of being assaulted or murdered.

For the most part, prostitution isn't a crime, and prostitutes are usually never punished. Solicitation is the crime.
