the reality of the flower is that it contains three different anticholinergic toxins. you can get high on it, although it's risky. the high is a full delirium, where you can not tell fantasy from reality. i quite like that kind of high. for a milder version, get high on benadryl. of course, the plant won't make you sleepy

There's some at the public flower garden by my house, I think you can just get them as a garden plant. But you have to be careful with the leaves and flowers because you can get high (not in a good way, in a scary wtf hallicination way) if the juice gets on you. Also huge fever.
User avatar #122 to #16 - thenewnuggubler ONLINE (09/26/2012) [-]
actually the plant itself doesn't do it, it's when you process the insides of the fruit to make the drug scopolamine, which has the effects described in the post, although you can eat the insides of the fruit, although it won't make you a "voodoo slave", just an extremely strong high, along with consuming the flowers or the roots, and you'll hallucinate. it's found mostly in columbia, and only requires tiny amounts, where the trees actually grow wild, and in public places, even along sidewalks. Vice did a documentary on it, it's really interesting, actually.

WARNING: This plant kills/cripples more than actually turns a voodoo zombie.

There are ALOT of different strains, all poisonous, some better than others.

this plant leads to hallucinations, suffocation, self mutilations, etc

You can find it on ebay. its common name is Brugmansia.

the best strain is Brugmansia Datura. i have only seen a few.

lol brutal.

I have been working with a variety of strains of the deadliest plants as of late.
The best one... is called Monks hood.

It is so deadly that even if you touch it you can get heart arrhythmias.
It secretes alkaloid poisons which are basically a neuro toxin. Almost Undetectable

Nicknamed.. the perfect assassins weapon

Please do tell more, because what i've read you have to stay in contact with it for some time before you can get some effects off of it. But yes it is deadly - but not instant death a deadly dose for a mice if I remember correctly is 3 milligrams.

But please do correct me if it's wrong, I love learning new stuff.
User avatar #142 to #68 - allcontent (09/26/2012) [-]
Its not instant. You can get effects very quickly, but not death.
If its on you for extended periods, you have a higher chance of death

eating it is almost an hourly death sentence.

no one has been reportedly killed i think would be more accurate. The seeds are not shot out with enough force to kill (this would not always be the case as any explosive that employs shrapnel of any kind is subject to random shots) but can injure people and only the sap from the tree are poisonous, not the seeds.
User avatar #263 to #240 - allcontent (09/26/2012) [-]
no, it has the capability to kill. people just havent been unlucky enough yet.

Thee reason that many plants are so deadly poisonous is because of the vacuoles in their cells. They are so large and accumulate such high densities of environmental toxins in them that they puch all of the other organelles off up against the cell membrane.

Plants have taken this evolutionary trash can, and turned it into an extremely effective way to defend themselves.

Plants are cool.

in reference to bamboo plants, they used to be used as a torture technique. They would lay you on a bed of dirt with a bamboo tree planted under you. It would slowly but surely grow up and through your body.
User avatar #17 to #12 - allcontent (09/26/2012) [-]
yep. mythbusters also tested.

The seed sprout/shoots are extremely pointed like a large spike. they grow so fast and hard they can just pierce through
