I've always wanted to talk to Adolf Hitler. Just think of the things you could learn from him. And you could see his point of view on the whole thing. I'd never agree with the Jewish Genocide, but I still think talking to him would be very interesting.

And not just him but all the greats of history, Julias Ceaser, Jesus, Charlemagne, George Washington to name a few. Just to ask them questions, see what made them so great, and why people were drawn to them.

God some many things i would ask...

Don't forget Genghis Khan.

User avatar #85 to #82 - smilingpyro (09/26/2012) [-]
He's my favorite historical figure, Ceaser is my second favorite. I'd love to find out how he turned the mongol tribes into a killing machine so powerful they conquered almost half of the (known) world.
#111 to #85 - marioauditore (09/26/2012) [-]
You should read The Secret History of the Mongols. I't's the most ancient Mongolian literary work and it tells the story of Genghis Khan.

I'll be sure to check it out.

agreed. i highly doubt Hitler woke up each morning and said to himself "im going to be as evil as i possibly can be today."

Actually, excluding the megalomania, most dictators have pretty nice personalities.

I think Hitler seems like a pretty cool guy, despite the whole holocaust thing
User avatar #170 to #164 - snowshark (09/26/2012) [-]
Actually, he respected the arts. He was a very intelligent man who might just have done good for the world if we hadn't taken his life over that whole 'people trying to kill him for the most disgusting warcrimes in recorded history' thing.
User avatar #176 to #170 - rainbowdashmlp (09/26/2012) [-]
Indeed. In fact, if he had been accepted into art school he probably would have been an artist and never joined the military or risen to power.
User avatar #178 to #176 - snowshark (09/26/2012) [-]
He was good, but couldn't draw people. He was more of an impressionist and damn if he didn't leave a big one...
#184 to #178 - rasputinsbeard (09/26/2012) [-]
if you say so.
User avatar #189 to #184 - snowshark (09/26/2012) [-]
Huh. That's odd. I was taught that he didn't make it into vienna (correct me if that isn't where the college/university was) because he could not draw people. They even showed numerous pictures of beautifully sketched buildings with very crudely drawn people around them. They didn't even have faces.

Learn something new about Hitler every day. (On the internet at least... yeah, we're kinda ****** up that way.)
User avatar #214 to #189 - rasputinsbeard (09/26/2012) [-]
Nope, he wasn't accepted because he was very stubborn and didn't want to learn from critisism.
User avatar #231 to #214 - snowshark (09/26/2012) [-]
Interesting. Kinda figures.
User avatar #179 to #178 - rainbowdashmlp (09/26/2012) [-]
Not exactly sure why I got thumbed down. It's a fact.
User avatar #181 to #179 - snowshark (09/26/2012) [-]
Yeah... I expect it has something to do with your name. People can be unreceptive to "our kind". It would be interesting though to see a bunch of seriously racist people (like KKK racist) and show them MLP and what Bronies are like and see their reactions to it.
User avatar #232 to #181 - rainbowdashmlp (09/26/2012) [-]
The funny thing is i'm barely a brony anymore. this is just my username.
User avatar #233 to #232 - snowshark (09/26/2012) [-]
Aye, I know a lot of people who were just caught up in the hype of it at the time.

I however am a genuine article. I've always been a fan of animation as well as well-written female characters and... yeah let's not get too into why I love the show. Too off-topic and all.

Still, do you plan on watching Season 3 when it comes out? See if it re-kindles the fires of friendship? (See, I'd never talk so cheesily before I watched MLP. It's a disease I tells ye... π_π A beautiful, beautiful disease.)
User avatar #234 to #233 - rainbowdashmlp (09/26/2012) [-]
Haha I mean I would be I've just had so little time lately that I haven't finished season 2.
User avatar #235 to #234 - snowshark (09/26/2012) [-]
Ha. I know, right? Still, at least you're in for some good episodes if you keep watching.

(Also, my personal least favourite episode is near the end of season 2. Pinkie is hard to write for because it's hard to make her both annoying and funny at the same time and you'll know the one when you see it. There's also a bad episode with a Donkey in it. There's some good jokes but the moral is really skewed... feels like they went for the cop-out happy ending.)
User avatar #175 to #170 - joshlol (09/26/2012) [-]
People hate to hear it but Hitler was one of the most intelligent minds of his generation
User avatar #177 to #175 - snowshark (09/26/2012) [-]
Dude... if you can successfully infiltrate a democracy through democratic (if a tad brutal at points) means and turn it into a dictatorship before you engineer the greatest war of all recorded time then yeah... I imagine you'd be considered pretty damn smart too.

Adolf Hitler: The world's most stunning example of the Evil Genius.

(Note: Invading Russia wasn't his best idea...)
#185 to #177 - sirgammelbock (09/26/2012) [-]
At that time most other partys in the Waimar Republic had on their agenda to get rid of the democratic system. It was called the democracy without democrats and shows that you can't simply force a political system on a country after you defeat it in a war.
User avatar #188 to #185 - snowshark (09/26/2012) [-]
No, it shows that you can't force things onto people if you can't convince them that it is worth it. Britain forced our special blend of monarchy and democracy onto many countries within the empire which did not go back to their previous regimes after gaining independence. They fought against it at the beginning but by the end they accepted it. India is a great example.

The Walmar was a *********** full of holes, discontentment, rebellions and general " **** this **** "ness, something that Hitler capitalised upon to create his "Thousand Year Empire" (I believe that was the name it was given. Ionic, isn't it, that the third reich didn't last 3% of the time that it was predicted to.
