*Buffalo buffalo buffalo Buffalo Buffalo.
User avatar #14 to #12 - zedacedia (09/22/2012) [-]
Sure, but it doesn't mean the same thing. I was saying bison from the city of Buffalo that bison from the city of Buffalo bully also bully other bison from the city of Buffalo. Vsauce.
User avatar #16 to #14 - fauxshores ONLINE (09/22/2012) [-]
You need an oxford comma after the second buffalo for that to work.

Buffalo buffalo, Buffalo buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo.
User avatar #17 to #16 - zedacedia (09/22/2012) [-]
I don't think so. You may be reading it in the wrong order, since I had to switch the order of the first two sets of buffalo in my explanation for it to make sense. A comma would actually be grammatically incorrect.
User avatar #30 to #17 - fauxshores ONLINE (09/22/2012) [-]
It would also make sense to address the buffalo. In this way it would be like this.

(Adressing) Buffalo buffalo, Buffalo buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo.
User avatar #19 to #16 - zedacedia (09/22/2012) [-]
Perhaps it would make more sense if I told you "Buffalo bison that Buffalo bison bully also bully Buffalo bison."

The descriptors "that" and "also" are superfluous.

Buffalo - s in the city
buffalo - as in the animal
buffalo - as in the verb "To bully"
