I've been on the "Salmon Diet" for about 3 months now, I was just under 13 stone when I started, I'm now 11st 2lb's that was without going to the gym, I'm going at my own pace, so my weight flux's by at least 2lb's.

Just run you insecure faggot. Read some articles about how to lose weight by lifting more. Don't eat pizza or get soft drinks, get some juice and protein bars.

Dude.... bodyweight home work out routine. GET ONE AND STOP COMPLAINING!
User avatar #20 to #19 - IronTortureDevice (09/19/2012) [-]
Your insecurity upsets me. Especially as it completely unfounded. Firstly, NO ONE GIVES A **** ABOUT YOU WHEN YOU ARE IN THE GYM. You have to understand that. Everyone was where you are once, so even if they do somehow care, and judge you, you will be judged positively - For being one of the few people who are actively trying to improve themselves.

Secondly, there are no people that 'don't need to work out'. Training is not something you do for a while and then stop once you reach an acceptable level of fitness. You have to keep at it to maintain, and improve upon your current status.

So, to conclude, stop thinking people are going out of their way to stare at you in the gym to evaluate you, and just GO.

IronTurtureDevice is right you know. I've been working out for a long time now. I'm still really little. I'm 5'9 and about 160 pounds and self-conscious to beat it all, but I still go to the gym cause I wanna improve, get bigger, and get stronger. People really don't judge you in those ways. I've seen dudes get up to the squat rack, have terrible form, do it ALL wrong, and nobody says anything (well, unless they're going to kill themselves).

The point is keep at it. You could be the next guy at the gym that is 160 pounds and deadlifts 275. People's expressions are funny when you throw down the weight then.

Also, mfw not worked out in nearly a year and deadlift 275 for 3 after 2 other sets of deadlifts.
User avatar #31 to #26 - schmitty (09/19/2012) [-]
I never really got the point of dead lifts, I mean yea you're lifting 275 for a few seconds, but so what?
#37 to #31 - SupraLover (09/19/2012) [-]
Works hamstrings, back, glutes and quads. Also works upper and lower back.
User avatar #66 to #37 - IncarceratedNinja (09/19/2012) [-]
try hang/power cleaning. works way more muscles then just straight dead lifting.
User avatar #38 to #37 - schmitty (09/19/2012) [-]
But does it really have that much of an effect if its just for a couple seconds?
User avatar #39 to #38 - SupraLover (09/19/2012) [-]
You do not do 1 and that is it, I do 3-5 sets when performing 1-5 reps.
If you had the correct form and weight trust me you'd feel it.
User avatar #40 to #39 - schmitty (09/19/2012) [-]
I suppose, I don't know it just never really struck me as a viable exercise. But if works all those different muscles at once I might have to give a go.
#52 to #40 - jeppeth (09/19/2012) [-]
deadlift is one of the best ways to get a nice "V" form. so if you want to get big, bad and strong it is one of the best ways.
User avatar #90 to #40 - thewolfkiba (09/20/2012) [-]
Well, what it does do is work pretty much your whole body. Just a couple seconds doesn't say really anything about the workout. It's a fully body workout and it's strength training. If you just want upper body then, I just wouldn't do it. I follow Mark Rippetoe and Jim Wendler's programs pretty much. I've also done the 20 squat program. God that thing is hard.

yes, i am aware it's a joke
User avatar #12 to #1 - EjaculationMan (09/19/2012) [-]
you don't need to go to the gym to stay in shape, a simple push-ups and sit-ups on daily bases are enough to keep you in shape.
User avatar #29 to #12 - abovelawl (09/19/2012) [-]
this is so false it's hilarious
#17 to #12 - anon (09/19/2012) [-]
Yes, because a few push-ups and sit-ups will work your entire body. Stupid.
#23 to #17 - EjaculationMan (09/19/2012) [-]
obviously you're a fat ass that doesn't know anything about working out, they won't turn you into a body builder but they're enough to keep you in a good shape.

the 2 of them train the following muscles:
-Anterior and medial deltoids.
-Pectoralis major and pectoralis minor.
-Rhomboid major and rhomboid minor.
-Erector spinae.
-Rotator cuff.
-Posterior deltoids.
-Serratus anterior.
-Rectus abdominus.
-Transverse abdominus.
-Gluteus maximus.
-hip flexors.

so yeah push-ups and sit-ups work out your whole body, and calling me stupid wont make you appear smarter.
User avatar #27 to #23 - haydn (09/19/2012) [-]
In all fairness, a few of them muscles are minimally used with them excersizes.
User avatar #55 to #23 - thirdasscheek (09/19/2012) [-]
while you are indeed correct, it is better to do variations of each exercise in order to isolate the lesser worked muscle groups. Doing just regular sit-ups will work the upper area of your abdomen for the most part, and doing regular push-ups will work your tris, bis, and pectorals.

On top of that having roughly 20 mins of cardio a day will burn off excess fat
#34 to #23 - svampi (09/19/2012) [-]
So you're telling me, if I do pushups and situps I will notice a significant difference in my quads, glutes and upper back?

They won't do **** , if you aren't eating healthy!

Tryning is like 30% of how your body's looking like. The rest is diet. Eat healthy - work out - and you'll look splendid!
User avatar #80 to #79 - EjaculationMan (09/19/2012) [-]
you didn't have to state the obvious, of course if you aren't watching what you eat all the work out would be meaningless.
#85 to #80 - thisnamefits (09/19/2012) [-]
It's not obvious? People think chicken/fish is enough once a week. Most don't know how big a deal the protein, the calories(depends on which you're training for) the good and the bad fat is. If you don't know what to eat, for what you're training it'll be wasted.

I'm trying to get more into shape.
I just moved in to college a month ago and holy **** , their food is so good but so many calories.
I'm doing good so far; lost about two pounds and my stomach is getting a little flatter and my butt a little perkier.

It wasn't so hot when it was so bubbly that it sagged.
You know your butt's too big when you have to lift your cheeks to scrub underneath.

having a fit body doesnt mean you dont have to train anymore. the better trained you are, the more you have to train to keep it that way.
