But if you look at from a biological perspective, doesn't it make sense? Seeing as how men are generally physically stronger that women?

But do you also think it is a good idea to see women as meek, frail and helpless creatures ?
#151 to #85 - mickeymaufive (09/10/2012) [-]
The best way to show equality in my opinion is to have the mindset that you can hit a woman if she hits/attacks you first.
I mean you would beat the **** out of a guy if he attacked you wouldn't you? So why can't women get the same treatment. NOT hitting them back I see is you being disrespectful because you see woman as a species that are made of sugar glass.
User avatar #120 to #85 - thisotherdude (09/10/2012) [-]
Not necessarily true, men just generally do more upper body workout (this can mean anything from exercising to job related activities that require the use of upper body strength) where as women don't tend to do this (or at least do less of it), if a woman was to work out she could just as easily as a male get enough upper body strength to deliver a damn good beating.
User avatar #132 to #120 - msvegeta (09/10/2012) [-]
Yeah but it would take a lot of working out, women have less testosterone, so they have to work more to get muscles.

Yeah, fun fact, the gay club at my college doesn't allow straight people in there.
#43 to #25 - mrcrowleysr (09/10/2012) [-]
why would a straight man want to get in the college gay group?
User avatar #49 to #43 - ilbacondeity (09/10/2012) [-]
I have 2 friends that go there, so they asked me to join them to hang out there. And I did for a while, there were no other clubs in my college that were REALLY worth being at. (I live in NY, and my college has the biggest gay club, like... ******* ever) And I wasn't the only straight guy there. But I stopped going when I realized they're just GIANT angsty douchebags. But why I mentioned what I said was because they are always fighting for equal rights and **** like that, but, lol, "Lets not let straight people here." They even forced the college to have a non-gender specific bathroom. :I

what **** ?
User avatar #58 to #49 - psydoc (09/10/2012) [-]
If it's sponsored by the college, they probably can't reject you. If it's really important to you, you could probably get in, but they might not like you for it (if that matters to you).
User avatar #59 to #58 - ilbacondeity (09/10/2012) [-]
I was already in, I just left because they're ****** horrible people in there. But the leaders of the club are fighting hard to not let straights in there.

I frankly don't give a **** these days, I hang around the radio station promoting my show. But It's just ****** up regardless.
User avatar #68 to #59 - psydoc (09/10/2012) [-]
Sorry, I'm tired. I misread that.

Honestly I am of the mindset that if you have a college sponsored club, you should let anyone in the club. However if they want to have some restrictions as to who can be in the leadership I'd be okay with that.

if they are attracted to the same sex than why is it that they only like girls that look like men and not just normal women ? it doesn't seem natural, at least in porn it's two lesbian women that are both real women
User avatar #15 to #10 - shashashadow (09/10/2012) [-]
I don't think you really understand. straight/bi women put an effort into looking nice to attract a male counterpart.

lesbians don't have the societal pressure placed on them to look good constantly because women don't dwell on physical attraction quite as much as men do, that's why men don't wear make up (not to say that they don't find it completely unimportant, it's just that men find it more important). Most lesbians are attracted to women because they feel more compatible with the female mind than they do the male (maybe because men say stuff like "You're not really attacked to women, your girlfriend looks like a man!" I've personally cross-dressed for a girlfriend because she was self contusion about being an openly gay couple in the small town wear we grew up).

Also lesbians are attracted to "real" women, they're typically called lipstick lesbians.
User avatar #19 to #15 - siridontcare (09/10/2012) [-]
I personally hate a woman who wear make up (then again I'm gay) but I have never heard a guy who said they liked make up.
User avatar #21 to #19 - shashashadow (09/10/2012) [-]
those guys have never truly seen a girl without at least makeup, you can't always tell when a girl is actually wearing make up sometimes, it doesn't always have to be caked on like the bitches in Jersey Shore.
User avatar #22 to #21 - siridontcare (09/10/2012) [-]
repeat that first line please.
User avatar #24 to #22 - shashashadow (09/10/2012) [-]
a girl without at least a little bit of make up.
User avatar #26 to #24 - siridontcare (09/10/2012) [-]
I think you have been brainwashed chap. Girls don't need to wear make up. and some of them don't. I would say that more then 25% didn't wear any. Also the whole "eye of the beholder" thing. since chicks wear make up wouldn't that make THEM the ones caught up on appearances? I doubt the whole reasons girls obsess over shoes is solely because of men.
User avatar #30 to #26 - shashashadow (09/10/2012) [-]
lol, here's the thing, I'm a girl. and trust me, I'm not the one brain washed. Google any pretty TV/Movie star with out their make up, and see for yourself.
User avatar #31 to #30 - siridontcare (09/10/2012) [-]
please tell me you see the irony in what you just said....
User avatar #34 to #31 - shashashadow (09/10/2012) [-]
trust me. men know nothing of what goes on in a woman's life, make up is all aesthetics used to make a woman's face look more pleasing.

concealer makes blemishes disappear
Base makes skin tone even
Blush makes cheek bones seem higher
eye-liner makes eyes look larger
eye-shadow makes eyes color pop
lipstick makes lips look fuller and more radiant

it's the exact same principal as designing a room so that it looks more inviting, and weather you realize it or not you appreciated the fact that women do it.
User avatar #35 to #34 - siridontcare (09/10/2012) [-]
I would like to direct to a previous note (then again I'm gay)most of my close female friends don't wear makeup and my mom doesn't wear make up. I also see make up as lies. its unnatural and its not you. Out of that whole list the only thing I can agree with is the blemishes. Also make up with make you age horribly face wise (My friend Sarah who I am skyping at the moment says she is to lazy to put on make up)
User avatar #159 to #35 - shashashadow (09/10/2012) [-]
I don't wear make up most of the time (then again, I'm an intern at a mental hospital, I don't really want the attention of many of the men I'm around) and I've noticed that a lot of girls think I'm very pretty, and most of the girlfriends I've had like me better without make-up, but guys tend to keep their distance, or they just straight up friend-zone me.
User avatar #160 to #159 - siridontcare (09/10/2012) [-]
maybe its not the make up? with me gay people love me (not the sassy ones) but when I thought I was straight girls refused to even talk to me.
User avatar #162 to #160 - shashashadow (09/10/2012) [-]
No, Guy's talk to me, it just tends to happen more when I'm either A) wearing make-up, or B) in a setting where most women aren't wearing make up. I defiantly know I'm just bi, I preferred men to women, generally, and the relationships I have had with guys are always much healthier and meaningful than my relationships with women (men are much easier to please on an emotional level).

I always get really pissed when a lady will say something that basically promotes sexism. Like, "You can't hit a woman." Or they whine about how men don't go through child birth or get periods. If a man and a woman were both proven guilty for doing the same crime under identical circumstances, the woman will normally have shorter jail time. Woman are more likely to get custody over children. It's all completely absurd.
Sorry I got all in a tizzy.
#117 to #97 - anon (09/10/2012) [-]
I would be ok with a guy being able to hit a girl ONLY if he can hit her with the SAME force that she would be able to hit him. A man is naturally larger and stronger than a girl. If they're both smacking each other around with equal force than, to me, it's all good.

Also, children generally do better when they are given to the mother as opposed to the father (assuming she's not psycho, on drugs, and/or a bad mother).

ha ha, I'm all for equal rights for women and whatever, but the women who are like....aggressively feminist, and I'm talking the women who flip the **** out when ever people say "his" instead of "his or hers", women hate other women who are supportive of maternal life, and all around have an unspoken but clearly evident hatred for men...are just ******* obnoxious. I don't care if you look or act like a man with your girlfriend, but if you're gonna be getting hostile with me, and want to be treated like a guy, then that's fine, but if I treat you like a guy, then don't pull the gender card.

Also, for women who want to be taken seriously by men and not treated "as objects", don't help objectify yourselves even more. Using sex as persuasion to get your way, showing as MUCH skin as possible all the time, ******* a guy the same day you meet him, or ******* every guy you know, is going to end up you being seen as an object all the more. Believe it or not, its not a single standard, cuz guys think other guys who do the same thing (but with women obviously) are douches and tools.

Consider this free advice from a guy who yes, has had girlfriends, friends who are girls, and knows what men think of women. Pic semi-related.

User avatar #140 - kernelstack (09/10/2012) [-]
When speaking about gender equality, although there are branches of feminists that support the contrary, you should not be referring to physical strength rather than equality on all levels of society: laws, work rights, career opportunities to name a few. Women have gone a long way towards gaining these rights and changing their gender stereotypes and most happened (in Western society) during the last century. Even the hairy, masculine feminist type should be respected for taking a stand.

TL;DR Sandwich
