No, but seriously. Allowing people to carry guns out in the streets for "self-defense" is just idiotic. The chances of you being robbed and killed by your own gun is much more likely than you ever using it for any good. 'Mericaaaa, i fecken leeeve me guns.

True, but if they banned guns, criminals would illegally get guns just like other illegal things, while innocent people wouldn't stand a chance. But that's just what I think.

Well you don't have to ban guns, just don't allow any random idiot to get a gun license so he can carry a gun around a park because he's scared he might get attacked.

could you imagine how many ******* retards would just shoot anyone they "suspect" of being a threat? Or perhaps maybe this is why women shouldn't dress as such incredible sluts, be careful when drinking, and not randomly going into secluded areas...

Most rapes are date-rapes that are induced via drugs like ruffies. In most cases, it's actually a woman getting drunk, having sex, regrettiing it, and filing for rape.

Shut the **** up, I live in Arizona and gun laws are lenient as **** . We don't have a ton of " ******* retards who just shoot anyone they suspect of being a 'threat'" you ******* idiot.

don't you need to be trained to have a concealed gun license?
#65 to #35 - newall (09/08/2012) [-]
if you're carrying a gun, and try to reach for that gun, while someone trying to rob you is already pointing a gun at you, you are far more likely to get shot by said criminal with a gun than if you aren't carrying a gun and you don't try to reach for it.

believe what you want, but most people that are likely to rob you at gunpoint do it out of necessity, not because they enjoy shooting unarmed civilians, if you murder someone you are far more likely to attract the attention of law enforcement than if you steal a purse or a few hundred dollars from a till, so they'd probably only shoot you if they feared for their life, lets say; if you were carrying a gun.

Where did you get those statistics exactly, and what the hell do you mean "robbed by your own gun"

It's not likou're allowed to just go out on the street with a shotgun or a rifle, there are specific laws, you have to keep your pistol in it's holster, all safety's on, and keep it uncharged.
User avatar #71 to #9 - Charizard (09/08/2012) [-]
You don't have to carry it with a safety on or without a round in the chamber, where did you obtain such lies?
#63 to #9 - newall (09/08/2012) [-]
actually in many states you can carry full sized rifles assuming they aren't fully automatic.
#10 to #9 - jaerbuen (09/07/2012) [-]
Oh, i'm sorry. That makes it so much safer.
User avatar #21 to #10 - Mahazama (09/07/2012) [-]
It ******* does make it so much safer. Take your sarcastic ******** somewhere else.
User avatar #29 to #21 - lazypaul (09/07/2012) [-]
Because the criminals will abide the laws and keep their pistols in their holsters.
User avatar #30 to #29 - Mahazama (09/07/2012) [-]
The criminals, being criminals, probably got the gun illegally anyways. No matter what steps you take, guns are still available on the black market. Although you can exponentially raise the price, they are just as determined to get a gun, and probably will anyways.
User avatar #31 to #30 - lazypaul (09/07/2012) [-]
Maybe in murca. America is a lost cause by now when it comes to being gun free since there are already so many guns there. But in countries like the UK there is so little gun crime there it wouldn't even show up on a graph.
User avatar #33 to #31 - Mahazama (09/07/2012) [-]
And sadly, the only real way is to give into the vicious cycle, and defend against guns with guns.
User avatar #34 to #33 - lazypaul (09/07/2012) [-]
I don't believe that the only way to be safe in america is to own a gun, nor do I believe that owning a gun would make you any more safe.

You basically just said the same thing twice.
But the whole idea of the right to bear arms is that if the people ever get sick of the government, they should have the means to get rid of the government. Even if it's to depose the very same government that gave them that right.
User avatar #45 to #36 - durkadurka ONLINE (09/07/2012) [-]
The government doesn't give us our rights. Our rights are considered "natural" rights or "God-given" rights. Government cannot take them away.
#66 to #45 - rawronmydick (09/08/2012) [-]
Something beng considered your "natural right" has nothing to do with whether or not it can be taken away. You may have the God given right to life, liberty, and all that ******** but if you are killed or enslaved your "rights" don't mean **** to anyone.
User avatar #38 to #36 - lazypaul (09/07/2012) [-]
I think you are confusing the right to bear arms with the right to vote. If you haven't noticed the British left quite a while ago.
User avatar #47 to #38 - durkadurka ONLINE (09/07/2012) [-]
No he's absolutely right. The right to bear arms was essentially included to provide the people with a means of stopping their government if it became tyrannical in the future.
