This trend originated from prisons where wearing your pants visibly lower than your waistline was a sign to others that you were open to homosexual relations.

Just thought you would all want to know that.

That's not true. It originated from prisons but ACTUALLY because they were not given belts (because they can be used as weapons or tools of suicide) so if the pants didn't fit, they just didn't fit and the inmates were forced to sag their pants.

If something that is often used or done by people that one would typically not like, and its origin is said to have to do with being homosexual, it's false. 19 times out of 20, it's false.
