in our first months of life we are taught how to walk and how to talk.
Then for the next 20 years of our life we are blocked in rooms where we have to stay sit and quiet.

Funnyjunk is cool with 9/11 jokes, but when you joke about the U.S military, **** gets serious.

Huh. Last I checked, most modern armies are volunteer only.

So yeah, you're still welcome to solve your problems with words.

As a vet I have to say that the Military usually only makes the smart more so and the same goes for those who "knuckle drag."

All we need is more US citizens that are war-ready and patriotic. Both are over the top already.

And there are some intelligent people in the US, why should they waste time on something like that?
#187 - leopoldstotch (09/06/2012) [-]
Really? Who SENT you to the army???
User avatar #136 - kouzan (09/06/2012) [-]
You can still solve problems with words, just carve the words into the ends of the bullets.

He was intelligent and he was a great speaker. I bet he was great to talk to...but like you said, without the crazy "kill all da jeeeews" shenanigans.
User avatar #267 to #223 - Chuckaholic (09/06/2012) [-]
He wasn't a speaker, he was a shouter. He didn't make great speeches, he knew how to get people riled up but he didn't execute any of the worlds greatest speeches. He wasn't particularly intelligent, he was charismatic, that's all. An obstinate man, but one with vision. Most policies, good and bad, were made by his buddies for his approval.
He "solved" economic problems by creating loads of short term jobs, kicking women out of the workplace so only men could work, this gave the illusion of low unemployment as people eligible for work would work, but that's because he made so many people ineligible.
He only got where he did due to his charisma and persuasiveness, but he wasn't great at addressing, more like barking.
#272 to #267 - txikaze (09/07/2012) [-]
I didn't say he was a great orator, just a speaker. Say what you will about his "intelligence" but the man (through his speeches or "shouts" if you want) pretty much brainwashed an entire country.
User avatar #278 to #272 - Chuckaholic (09/08/2012) [-]
He knew what to say, but I'm saying on a personal level he wasn't very intelligent. That's all.
User avatar #126 - samyek (09/06/2012) [-]

User avatar #274 to #145 - samyek (09/07/2012) [-]
I didn't say that we succeeded, only that there are many problems that cannot be solved by words.

Why you've been sent to the army? AFAIK in USA army have become completely voluntarily since they failed in a war with Vietnam.
User avatar #143 to #138 - zinnerfy (09/06/2012) [-]
Might be Israeli, over here it's still mandatory, or other countries that still have it mandatory.
