Youre right. Creatine adds water to the muscles to make then look big and protein helps you recover and build muscle
User avatar #458 to #422 - abovelawl (09/03/2012) [-]
no creatine creates more phosphates to improve the time your body synthesizes of ATP, the P in atp is what it delivers and makes more abundant, so it can aid you in getting more reps or a little more weight buy giving your muscles more energy and atp to synthesis and use more effectivley, there might be some slight water retention but nothing like what people make it out to seem.

Don't start too young. Children who do intense work-outs at a young age are going to have incredibly stunted growth, problems with their bones, and have serious medical complications in the future, like, say ten years old.
User avatar #172 to #7 - Tusura (09/03/2012) [-]
The age when it is ok to participate in intense physical workouts varies per person.

Doctors recommend waiting until you have been at least one year into puberty.

I'll tell you one thing, all the little pricks that were at my school that did all the weights and stuff were all short. I don't know whether it's evidence of what you said or that they were all just insecure about being short and tried to pretend to be manly and think they were better people by having muscle lines.
User avatar #44 to #14 - symustafa (09/03/2012) [-]
Well, all my uncles are short and apparently they lifted weights in high school and college. I'm taller than all of them by the age of 14, and I'm asian.

User avatar #387 to #125 - ningyoaijin (09/03/2012) [-]
They... They kinda are. Not by definition, but there's definitely a strong causal link between the two. If you're in shape and people compliment you constantly on it, obviously you're going to learn to be a total dickwad about it.
#589 to #387 - anon (09/03/2012) [-]
That is absolute ******** . How many people have you seen like this not in films or internet pictures? 4? 5? No need to judge the entire male population who like to keep in good shape. Maybe you assumed they were a total dick because they happened to have a good looking girlfriend you wouldn't stand a chance with?
User avatar #609 to #589 - ningyoaijin (09/03/2012) [-]
Erm no? It's because I've gotten to know them, and they're all dicks without fail. Besides, I'm fairly in shape myself, and I've had my share of decent girls. Guys like that only attract sluts who have no intellectual standards. Like hell would I want to touch one of those bitches.
User avatar #658 to #609 - vZaaa (09/03/2012) [-]
You've said it yourself, it's because of our world we live in.. if we valued intellect, not beauty, then intellectual people would be the dickheads because others would compliment them. The people who have to perfect body would be the outsiders.
And that means that our society makes more advanced people around us dickheads, the people we want to be. Not how their body is built or how intellectual they are.
So that means our society is full of people like those nerds, who complain all the ******* time about how their life sucks and how all the beautiful people get the best looking women, not realizing they are the problem.
Value yourself more and if someone is better than you, don't think different of him/her, think different of yourself and ask yourself - why aren't you where he is? What's stopping you? If you think he's better than you, then your only goal would be to become a better person also and you can learn things from them. But you are mentally preparing yourself to demolish them just because they are better than you and that's the ignorance of human kind.
Weird..

And for the record, I'm a math wizard who can get any girl he wants. It's just that I have good genes, I haven't really worked at all to get to the point I'm at right now. I want to study, I want to party, I want to get high, I want to be good looking. Should you think less of me because of that?
And I'm not turning myself into a god damn male slut for that - it is an awesome feeling to be able to get the prettiest, smartest women there are. I can wait. I know I can perfect myself more so my choice would be even more wider so I have the possibility to choose the best mate for me in the future if I should happen to run into her. But at any time I could choose someone else if I wanted. I have the true freedom of choice.

You. You are a Man!
User avatar #685 to #658 - vZaaa (09/03/2012) [-]
And don't get me wrong, I have been picked on in school to the point suicide looked like the only way out. I outgrew that phase. I survived.
If I killed myself then, then I wouldn't have become the person I am today and I would be forever known as the nerd who killed himself. Pathetic, don't you think?
Everyone's a genius and if people understood the true meaning of God, they would realize that every consciousness is a God. Really pathetic God, if your consciousness can't find other way out than kill it's existance. And I'm an atheist, I have never even glanced at a bible or went to church, so I'm not talking about the religious God. I'm talking about how religion is really there to find our inner God. If your life sucks, you and only you have to power to change it and not by praying or whatever, but by changing the reality your consciousness is in. True intelligence about your own existance in this pathetic Universe is what really is being Godlike.
#619 to #609 - anon (09/03/2012) [-]
Seriously? You've gotten to know the entire male population who like to stay fit?

People I know in good shape are some of the nicest and most helpful guys you will ever meet. THEREFORE YOU ARE WRONG BECAUSE EVERYONE WHO WORKS OUT IS A GOOD PERSON.

See what I did there? Jumped to a conclusion just like you did.

Also: Being in good shape helps and should be considered TO SOME EXTENT, but if a girl is after a guy for that reason alone, then she isn't a girl you would want a relationship with.
#665 to #619 - ningyoaijin (09/03/2012) [-]
Out of the 20 or so people I know who are musclebound, two of them I can stand being around mostly. The rest are utter dicks. Just saying, in my experience, the majority of people who work out regularly are cunts. If you're fit enough, you don't need to become "more fit". Overweight people work out to extend their life, and weedy people do it to become stronger. But nobody has anything to gain from overclocking their muscles, other than looking like a silly uterus.

I can get people wanting to become normal, but like I said overclocking yourself has no benefits whatsoever.
User avatar #736 to #665 - zealouscoma (09/03/2012) [-]
to become very lean and muscular takes alot dedication and hard work just like studying for exams. body builders and brain boxes have much in common so i dont see why everyone seems to think fit people are dicks.
im personally am not a body builder but always go to the gym and would like to become bigger and stronger. i highly doubt you could reach the levels of some guys you see in the gym. and before you say steroids most normal guys in the gym do not use steroids have just used hard work

Actually, muscle building throughout your entire life also increases your lifespan. I'm not talking about the extreme stuff, because that kills your joints and ligaments and you'll most likely have horrible arthritis. But body building is actually very good for your body. And in my experience, amount of muscle does not equal how much of a dick someone is.

the majority of fit people I know are extremely nice people, I think it's more the fit people that are also football jocks or some other sport that makes them think they are the **** , but in my experience just because you lift does not mean you are a dick

Maybe where you live. Where I live many fit people are nice and the rugby team are friendly. They tease others and each other in a joking fashion, if someone asks for it to stop they stop. The people are very nice and all the more because of the values that rugby and team sports bring.

But man, i'm fit and i like to think i'm a nice person.

I got fit not because i wanted to have a nice body or something... But because i have Marfan Syndrome, and long story short, that **** makes you flexible to the point of dislocating parts of your body with simple tasks like opening the door of your car.

My Dr. said i had to build Muscle to keep my joints healthy.
Also, have a couple Cardiac Problems that need to be kept in check.
You know, once i started doing exercise it kinda became an habit...

But, really man, i'd like to think i'm not a Scumbag. D:

And no, i don't even lift.

good god... the level of ignorance on this website is appalling. Do not get me wrong, i love funnyjunk. ive lurked here for years and only avoided making a profile because i feel i lack the creative ability to contribute to this website (i suppose i could dd what half the users do and just repost other people creations or post stuff which isnt even remotely funny like cat videos or feels)... i felt i needed to comment on the insane amount of ignorance in this comment section. Are you people seriously arguing about what is obviously a joke to begin with? of course no sane person would make their kid start working out and using supplements at a young age. Also, why are people arguing over the differences between protein and creatine(i thought it was obvious but some of these comments are astounding)? There are also several people arguing just about what creatine really is and does.... no creatine doesnt make your muscles softer(one retard said this) creatine is primarily taken as a preworkout supplement for its primary effect, it increases the rate at which your body reproduces ATP(adinotriphosphate), your body uses ATP as the primary energy source in anareobic exercises(weightlifting sprinting etc)... creatine also causes your muscles to lock in more water which allows for an increased rate of hypertrophy(muscular expansion), hypertrophy is just a physical size difference(reason it is commonly used by body builders and the reason body builders arent as strong as they appear)... im not gonna go into protein because even a monkey knows what it is... and another point, giving supplements to a child doesnt stunt their growth it will give them digestive issues. Forcing a child to weigh lift at a young age stunts their growth, lift heavy weights puts pressure on the growth zones of bones and results in less overall growth of the skeleton... now rage a vote done my anon comment but please look **** up before acting like you know something when you do not.
#227 to #144 - Dehman (09/03/2012) [-]
Supplements at young age? Creatine and protein are both natural substances found in your body already lol. I know that anyone wouldnt give their child supplements because real food is better but I don't see anything dangerous about it.
#246 to #144 - Dehman (09/03/2012) [-]
And besided how young are we talking about? Arnold and Terry crews started lifting in their early teens (bout 13-15) and both are well over 6 foot tall. Im sorry but lifting at young age will not stunt growth, that is an old myth and even the american academy of pediatrics says that if you workout smart and correctly lifting will actually stimulate growth.

And wtf do you mean by growth zones? Are you talking about the growth plates/epiphhyseal plate? By lifting weight you are probably not going to injure the growth plates lol.

inb4 red thumbs because of truth.

please... [url deleted] and http://www.free-online-health.com/kids-growth-article.htm both of these verify what ive said... there is a risk of injury in training children, you HAVE to maintain correct form(if you have ever been to a gym please pay attention to half of the peoples form, much less a childs) to avoid any risk at all and pressure to the growth plates(i referred to them as zones because i didnt feel like taking the time to go google a term that i knew existed, hell you figured out what i meant) for extended periods is unwise
