Well if you're not tired, sleeping isn't really that great. I feel like if you constantly felt awake and energized, you wouldn't miss sleeping.

I'd love to never have to sleep or get sleepy and suffer no ill effects. While I do love sleep I'd have a lot of fun if I got to take advantage of all 24 hours in a day. Though I may also go completely insane as I often use sleep as a time killer to battle my impatience.

Never HAVE to sleep.

So technically, if I feel like it, I could still sleep, right, and then just learn to lucid dream.

Tiredness indicates your body is worn out. If your body is worn out it has to sleep to recharge. Meaning you'd go insane and die.

****, I had paragraph typed up and I hit the back button.

Im just going to summarize.
It takes time (supposedly if you have a high iq you can control your dreams better) iv noticed that when I was younger I could move around but It was similar to walking drunk. Now I don't have that problem but I can't control certain things like where my dream takes place, Iv noticed I have never really moved walls/buildings too.

Once you can control where you walk/look its like being in your own video game except you can feel pain/pleasure/heat/ I have even felt water, its crazy how real it can get.

in your dreams, when you look at your hands they are weird! you will see 6 or may be 8 fingers instead of 5.. so as soon as you look at your hands with more than 5 fingers your mind becomes conscious and you realize that you are dreaming. you can also try looking at the walls etc (which never really helped me).
So why will you look at your hands when you are in a dream? you will have to make it your habit in real life (to look glance at your hands randomly every now and then). i have setup an alarm on mobile which repeats every hour or so (i downloaded some app named alam - green icon).
gradually i started to look at my hands more often and i didnt need the alarm any more.
in the dream, you dont have to just take a look at your hands but also focus on them. i once had a dream about my friend ******* my gf - i thought it was a dream and looked at my hands for 1 sec and didnt even count the numbr of fingers and the dream continued.
everytime you look at your hands the number of fingers change.
and with enough practice you will suddenly see your hands pop up in front of you when dreaming, and consciously realize, "My hands!" Oh my gosh! This is a dream.
I also wake up 5-6 hours after I go to bed and then sleep again for 2-3 hours. this helps me a lot! also, lucid dreams fade away as soon as you get excited so try to control your emotions and always keep rubbing your hands together or spin around and keep reminding yourself that you are dreaming (when in a lucid dream). some people say that their dreams only last for 15mins, mine last a lot longer. i keep forgetting that i am in a dream and then look at my hands again and it becomes lucid again. i am still a student which plays a major role here, my mind is very active due to the mental exercise and pressure. Avoid watching porn before sleeping :\
takes some time and patience but in the end, it's worth it.
sorry for my poor english, i hope you get it :P
if you have some problem flying or anything let me know :)

I would be grateful, the cause for their morbid behaviors is that for the longest time i had been through traumatic events, and needed to psychologically cope with them. When this assignment turned up, however, i was forced to naturally dream, and all hell went loose from there.

I read a few logs, looks like you are under a lot of stress or something (as you ve already mentioned above), i used to play a lot of counter strike before going to bed and ended up in weird dreams. I dont know whether or not gaming has any effect on our dreams I am not a shrink. I usually watch a lot of comedy shows/movies etc. to lighten my mood. Also, never give up on lucid dreaming, if you are lucid you can overcome these morbid dreams and gain a huge confidence boost.

I only did give it up for that assignment and then had to re-train myself. Yes i was under a significant amount of stress, but this just added to it. A lot of ....interesting..things can happen while having a second personality that is both aware and in control of the darkness in our minds; the subconscious.

they are not harmful at all and sleep paralysis (which is not dangerous) is not that common either, try wiggling your toes or swallowing. When you are in sleep paralysis, your brain is sending a signal to the rest of your body to immobilize your muscles so you don't thrash around while you sleep. The larger muscles are usually more affected than the smaller ones. So trying to wiggle your toes tends to wake you up during a state of sleep paralysis.
