Malcolm X was a separatist who did not, by any stretch of the imagination, believe in living together peacefully.
#318 - akkere (08/29/2012) [-]
...But Malcolm X for the prime of his career preached for Blacks to not only be violently defensive, but also dominance. Similarly to the Black Panther Party.
Largley in part in him placing himself in the Nation of Islam.

It really wasn't until close to the end of his life (when he got noscoped) that he was more... "peaceful" (he became a Sunni Muslim at this point), though he still believed blacks should have been defensive when provoked (Like if they ever hosed protesters down, they should fight back instead of taking it)
User avatar #338 to #318 - noopinion (08/29/2012) [-]
He wasn't as anti-white towards the end though.

Yeah, he improved a lot towards the end as he became a Sunni Muslim, as opposed to his phase as Nation of Islam, which is pretty goddamn anti-white.

He stated in several occasions that he felt the white man would not let the black man have what he wanted, that blacks would have to "fight" for it. I believe that picture of him peering out his window holding the AR-15 was within the last few years of his life.
#475 to #266 - ireallyhateorphans (08/29/2012) [-]
Exactly. His perspective was that "White people won't provide us with our basic rights, therefore we must fight for them." I agree he wasn't exactly peaceful, but any violence had reasons behind it.

actually shortly before he was killed, he went on hajj, being a member of a black panther offshoot of islam, and when he came back he did start to change his views towards peacefully getting rights, which was likely why he was killed. atleast, it's what i learned

How much do you know about Malcolm X's life? Please don't make assumptions. For most of his life yes, he was a bit of a black supremacist. However, his pilgrimage to Mecca later in his life changed things for him a great deal. Afterwards he changed his views a good deal and became far more tolerant. The only reason I spent time on this reply is because you seem to have the potential to not be an idiot.

So I see reading's not your strength. Is there anything you're good at?
User avatar #1011 to #1010 - deerbeer (09/03/2012) [-]
http://www.hawaii.edu/powerkills/20TH.HTM According to this: 262(total) - 50(colonialism) - 21(Germany) - 6(Japan) - 1.8(Turkey) - 1.5(Pakistan) - 1.4(Mexico) - 1(Russia before 1917) - 14(Ataturk, UK, Portugal, Indonesia, Other) = 165.3 < 200 => YOU FAIL! And have in mind that this is written by an american, and it could be an anti-communist propaganda. It is hard to estimate such things. I don't know about all the data, but I know for sure that million people killed by government in Yugoslavia from 1944-1987 is ******** . But, lets say all data is correct. 165.3 < 200. You still fail.
User avatar #1012 to #1011 - techketzer (09/03/2012) [-]
I admit defeat. I was wrong.
I was too sure of myself.

Communism/Socialism is only responsible for the deaths of about 160 million, not 200.
Let's install a socialist government first thing tomorrow, they're not quite as bad as I thought.
User avatar #1013 to #1012 - deerbeer (09/03/2012) [-]
I wouldn't get into this argument if you weren't such a cunt about being right. You were gonna crush me, and make me a laughing stock. And I never said we should install such governments, you're just being cunt again. I just challenged the number. And communism/socialism is just an idea, witch doesn't imply killing people. It hasn't ever been implanted the right way.
User avatar #1014 to #1013 - techketzer (09/03/2012) [-]
I had it coming, I see that. Reading what I wrote, that cocksure bragging, I guess I deserved nothing else, messing up the total number for the one with communist background. Real nice going.
Still, one step closer to a better perception of reality. I made an idiot of myself on some imageboard, but if that's what it takes to uncover a mistake of mine I'd do it again.

"And I never said we should install such governments, you're just being cunt again."
That's true, you didn't. I was more or less just pondering how lighthearted we talk about the deaths of millions and whether it makes any difference from a philosophical perspective. In the end, it changes nothing.

"And communism/socialism is just an idea, witch doesn't imply killing people."
That isn't right. Had you said command, you might have had a point.
But imply, it does, and heavily so.
User avatar #1001 to #992 - deerbeer (08/31/2012) [-]

This world has never had a true communist society. Karl Marx would be ashamed at all the "communists" that we see today and have seen for the past 80 or so years. Communism in itself is a VERY good idea but the problem is the leaders always end up corrupt.
User avatar #476 to #465 - ilovehitler (08/29/2012) [-]
True communism is society perfected. The communism we've created is just another dictatorship.
User avatar #990 to #476 - techketzer (08/30/2012) [-]
True communism is the ultimate slavery of all of mankind.
It is dictatorship without dictators, universal serfdom.

Is that truly what you strive for?
User avatar #996 to #990 - ilovehitler (08/30/2012) [-]
It's everybody getting exactly what they need, and everybody helping to produce what is needed. There are no rich, no poor. No powerful, no weak. There is no racism, as there is naught to judge based on race.
So yes, that is my idea of perfection.
User avatar #997 to #996 - techketzer (08/30/2012) [-]
There are no individuals, there are no differences. Everything and everyone is the same. No ambition to rise above, no vision, no choice. There are no more humans, only biological automatons with no perspective.

It's my idea of hell.

User avatar #662 to #110 - deerbeer (08/30/2012) [-]
And it wasn't on the hands of communism, but on the hands of dictators. It has nothing to do with that ideology.

Communism is evil . Also DR.King was a plagarist so is undeserving of the title doctor . Not suprising a communist would cheat to attain things
User avatar #112 to #103 - admiralseasheep (08/29/2012) [-]
The fundamental beliefs of communism is equality, democracy and the abolition of greed, I agree that "attempts" a communist state have failed in the past ending horribly, but when you look at the idea of it all, I don't see how it's evil. But if you believe that people should only care about money and power and that people should judge others due to how much money and power they have go ahead, I personally believe that is wrong.
#116 to #112 - John Cena (08/29/2012) [-]
You have a very western liberal mind .

Communism by steps as educated in the USSR ( Where I am from )

-Populist uprising
-Holocaust of the bourgenoise
-Dictator rises to power to distrubte wealth and assemble order
-Dictator steps down and hands power to general council
-General council steps down to hand power to each person
-Communism utopia .

You see problem
#121 to #116 - John Cena (08/29/2012) [-]

I agree with you both, it won't work, humans strive for more and have natural greed, but the idea of it it brilliant and Id love to live in a world like it, sadly though, it won't ever happen, it always gets mucked up half way through because people just see how to play the system and then turn it into a dictatorship.
#131 to #123 - John Cena (08/29/2012) [-]
MAssacreing people because they own a bakery is not a system anyone should work with you are a god dammed American idiot who read a single page on communism and think it is greatest thing on earth .

First I'm not American, Second I haven't read one page on communism, like any person who wants to see if something is good or not I read a lot about how it worked, failed and other political thought, I'm not that fixated on just one type of political regime.
#118 to #112 - John Cena (08/29/2012) [-]
People hate communism because it doesnt work. I know the foundation of it was equality no matter what class, gender, race, sexual orientation ect... but Stalin pretty much ****** that. True communism just does not work. The 'communism' we have today in china and korea is basic just Stalins ****** up version of one dictator and no civil rights.

He started that way, but after a pilgrimage to Mecca he came back and changed his position. So in a way he fits into this example even more, while he was violent no one cared, once he started talking about peace, BAM, gone.
