Ugh. People. That hat is a trilby. Yes, a trilby is a type of fedora, but there is a reason it has its own name. Calling a trilby is a fedora is like calling a square a rectangle. Technically it's accurate, but it sounds awkward because there's a more appropriate term.

The amount of times I've had to explain this on the internet would astound you.

Actually that looks like a hybrid of both. Yes, it's got the narrow brim of a trilby, but it's not curved up in the back. But I appreciate your effort to make the distinction.
