******** , a human must sleep 7-8 hours for his body to fully rest and be fully active during the day .

I found the episode, what they actually say is 4 to 7 hours, and that people who sleep longer than 7-8 hours live shorter than those who sleep 4 to 7 hours an night. I should

say that this was some pretty long time ago when i saw the episode, I knew it just didnt sound completely right. Episode is a called ''Danger''

Maybe they live longer because they are active longer , but are tired

All you need is to complete the REM cycle of your sleep, you only ever feel tired , be it any amount of time sleeping because of various factors, one being; you wake up during a cycle, that hasn't finished. You only need REM, current research points to. :) And your nervous system will be fully active during the day (after the 2 hour waking peroid when hormones then peak at their anabolic maximal) + there are other variables like excersise, diet, stress etc.

Nobody ******* sleeps 4 hours... You might think of farmers or something that wake up like 5 in the morning, but guess what? They go to sleep earlier too!!

I have been running on 4 hours of sleep for the last 5 YEARS. Your argument is invalid.

no, his isn't. That just means you were more or less running on willpower and telling yourself you aren't tired. That's how i got through my life while playing Skrim

I have to wake up at 6 am to get the bus and go to school.
And i never go to sleep before 2 am.
I went on like this for the last 3 years.
The amount of sleep you need depends from your life style.
If i had to work, i'm sure that i would need 6 or 7 hours of sleep.
But i do not.

although you may be right on the "lifestyle" part, i am pretty sure that your body adapts more by changing the amount of time you sleep in one time, and the amount of times you sleep during the day. Like, if you had a job, you might take a few small naps and one big nap during the night and it would accumulate to somewhere near 7-8 hours. Of course, i could be wrong since i am no expert on the subject, but it just seems like a logical action.
