And ye shall receive.

I understand it's foolish to ask for a hate-free post here, but I have some kind of faith in you guys to keep the name-calling and such to a minimum. You can hate all you want, but there's no reason to not be civil about it.

You know what- You're actually not sick at all. In fact you're more well off than most people. Most people deny who they are and try to fit into their pre-determined mold. But you? You have balls. (well not anymore). But you are brave. I commend you for doing what's right in your eyes. And for your security and courage- I give you my favorite pic ever.

Haha, I appreciate it! Indeed, it seems to be a condition one's spouse should be made aware of :P

Completely serious question.

Does being transsexual mean you had your genetalia swtiched, or you simply started identifying as the other sex?
User avatar #4 to #2 - msbrompton (08/19/2012) [-]
It means I identify as the gender opposite what my biological sex indicates, if that makes sense. Different people go to different lengths, and are at different points along their journeys

Because I've heard really different pronouns for different transgendered people. An artist goes by the plural pronoun, i.e. "They are a good artist". Is that different?
User avatar #6 to #5 - msbrompton (08/19/2012) [-]
I'm afraid I don't entirely understand what you're asking.
If you mean which pronouns (he or she, etc) you should use, go with the gender they choose to express.
User avatar #9 to #6 - oneandonlynigger (08/19/2012) [-]
Sorry for the confusion. I think some people don't entirely understand which gender they wish to express, so they go by the plural pronoun, as a "neutral" pronoun doesn't exist. You may not be entirely aware of this, and that's fine. I don't think it's very common anyways. Thanks for the answers though!

Ah, yea, "they" can work if you're not sure, at least it would for me.

An effort to find out in a non-offensive way would be greatly appreciated, assuming it's a person with whom you'll be interacting on any kind of regular basis.

Physically, I still appear mostly male, much to my dismay.
Mentally and emotionally, I am female.

Well, I don't have any questions, but I think it's really good that you came out! :D
don't listen to any haters you ever get ok? -not that any who commented are-

Thank you for the support!
It honestly means the world to me to know that complete strangers don't outright hate me for things they don't fully understand :)

I have a question for you: if Pinocchio says that he is lying, does his nose grow or what's the deal with that?

So.. do they chop off the dick..?
User avatar #30 to #29 - msbrompton (08/20/2012) [-]
In all honesty, I haven't done as much research as I need to accurately answer that at this point, but my understanding of the procedure is less "chopping off" and more "inverting"
#25 - helldudetwee (08/19/2012) [-]
msbrompton i got a question.
i have no idea how old you are but how you think about kids. like you wanna safe some of your dna (you know wat i mean) or not wanna have them or adopt.
#26 to #25 - helldudetwee (08/19/2012) [-]
doh nvm the age question just read that u r 20
User avatar #27 to #25 - msbrompton (08/19/2012) [-]
Either way, it's a viable question. I have thought about freezing sperm and the like, but there are other options as well: surrogate mothers and adoption among the more common

Basic question OP, what does MtF trans mean specifically? Also, best wishes in life
User avatar #24 to #23 - msbrompton (08/19/2012) [-]
It means Male-to-Female Transgender. Which means I was born male biologically, but I see myself as female, and am taking steps to make sure the rest of the world does as well

How did you know you were transgender? Did you always know, even when you were little, or did you suddenly realize it during puberty?
Also, and I am not trying to be rude with this question, just honestly curious, if you say you are attracted to males and females, doesn't that just make you bisexual?
Sorry if that last one is offensive.
User avatar #20 to #16 - msbrompton (08/19/2012) [-]
I've pretty much always known that something between my body and mind didn't quite line up, but it wasn't until I was about 10 that I knew what it was (I'm 20 now), and it wasn't until I was 16 that I knew the word for it and started accepting it as who i am.

As for the other question, Transgender refers to my gender identity, encompassing everything that has to do with gender roles (dress, speech, etc), whereas being bisexual simply refers to who I am attracted to.

Do you prefer guys or girls? Just wondering.
User avatar #14 to #13 - msbrompton (08/19/2012) [-]
I'm bi. Physically I'm more attracted to women, but I find men to be better partners in a serious (read: not just sex) relationship.

Counter-intuitive, I know...
User avatar #15 to #14 - akumamika **User deleted account** (08/19/2012) [-]
That's cool :) but I agree with the guys are better for relationships girls are too complex =.=
