one question for that one though... can't you say the exact same thing for pretty much any other country?
User avatar #156 to #138 - alfjnn (08/19/2012) [-]
Yes. But America is sort of the king of modern Social Media, and Modern Capitalism. Naturally an upside down American flag signifying distress would be in the background.
Plus Six Lines of Text, six white stripes, makes for good art.

I'm Serbian myself.
User avatar #179 to #156 - seniorpokeman (08/19/2012) [-]
ah. But out of curiosity, what was that background about kosovo with a serbian flag on it?
User avatar #265 to #179 - alfjnn (08/19/2012) [-]
It's just the Serbian National Anthem on the Serbian Flag with an Image of the Serbian Coat of Arms on Kosovo.

It's Pretty Nationalist, saying that Kosovo is Serbia. Which some might believe it is.
User avatar #270 to #265 - seniorpokeman (08/19/2012) [-]
Ah... As an American, I disagree, and think Kosovo has earned it's independence... but I suppose everyone has their own opinion.
User avatar #277 to #270 - alfjnn (08/19/2012) [-]
My Logic is is like this.

Kosovo may have a massive Albanian Population, but the City itself is historically Serbian, and has Been Serbian for Centuries.

Taking Kosovo away from Serbia because of its high Albanian Population is like taking New York away from the United States because of its High Puerto Rican Population, and makes about as much sense too.
User avatar #279 to #277 - seniorpokeman (08/20/2012) [-]
Very true. I do see your point there. But at the same time, haven't there been a lot of wars in the area over the past few decades? I think it might just have to do with the whole "Old Yugoslavia Separating" thing.
User avatar #280 to #279 - alfjnn (08/20/2012) [-]
Nawh. Kosovo is completely irrelevant between the Balkanization of Yugoslavia. It's more just between Albania and Serbia.
User avatar #281 to #280 - seniorpokeman (08/20/2012) [-]
Ah, I see. But then again, as an American, I've been fed different information on the subject than you have. The United states worked against Serbian soldiers to help in the removal of them from Kosovo. You're part of the cuture that had soldiers in there to keep it as part of Serbia. Both of our opinions are literally goign to be polar opposites. It's like asking an American and a Russian who was at fault for the Cold War. No matter what, because of how we've been raised on the subject, we will never agree, no matter what is actually right. (Plus, I'm a good part Croatian, and because of that, most of the things people in my family say about Serbians is in a negative fashion. It's not that I'm racist or anything, but being around people that say negative things about a race can o weird things.)
User avatar #282 to #281 - alfjnn (08/20/2012) [-]
Uhh. I was raised to be open minded, I can usually be persuaded one way or another. None of my opinions are Eternal.
I mean **** , I lived in Russia for a while. Russia won the Arms Race and the Space Race in the Beginning, but America won the Cold War Economically and influentially.

You can't just have questions like that.
Also Croatians aren't bad. No one is bad. Serbians aren't bad either, just some of our former leaders.
That's like Judging Germany based on what Hitler did, it's just ignorant and bigoted.
User avatar #283 to #282 - seniorpokeman (08/20/2012) [-]
I completely agree. And like I said, I don't believe in any of it, but I am saying I'm around it a lot. I am open minded I'm saying, although I was not raised to be. My opinion on the whole Kosovo thing though is that they don't want to be part o the country. The reasoning of "theres a high albanian population" is ******** .
User avatar #284 to #283 - alfjnn (08/20/2012) [-]
Kosovo is like this.
Personally, I believe the city should remain Serbian, however I do recognize its independence since there really aren't many Serbians left in the city. But yes, Kosovo was taken from Serbia almost as a punishment by NATO for being pretty much Communist.
Which is totally unfair, but it happened.
Sides. Serbia is laughing at all the surrounding countries because unlike Albania, Croatia, Bosnia, Macedonia, and Kosovo, Serbia actually has a stable Economy with lots of manufacturing. Just look at Zastava Arms and Zastava Motors.
User avatar #285 to #284 - seniorpokeman (08/20/2012) [-]
Hmm. But still, if it's a communist country, then it's no shock that the US was trying to get Kosovo to succeed. Americans don't exactly like communism.

You can buy the DLC that lets you play on after that point, I think it is about 800 Microsoft points but I wouldn't know for pc or ps players. I think it is called Broken Steel but I could be wrong.

do you think that they have ****** up C&C 4
User avatar #205 to #203 - marceau (08/19/2012) [-]
Story line: yes.
As an actual game: No, they did a great job mixing the traits of an RTS, C&C may not have been ready for the transition but as a game it is pretty fun.
User avatar #202 to #195 - schnizel (08/19/2012) [-]
the best thing about the reedemer is that you put a militant squad and a rocket team
deadly against air and ground attacks
User avatar #204 to #202 - marceau (08/19/2012) [-]
Better with tiberium troopers man. One does not simply pop in on the scrin and then that flipper comes out of no where.
User avatar #217 to #204 - schnizel (08/19/2012) [-]
hey remember in C&C 3 in the mission when you had to defend Sarajevo (Tmple Prime)
I live in Sarajevo!

I am neutral on all ground, I see the good and bad. Although I prefer the Scrin only because I, myself, am a defensive player.

User avatar #213 to #204 - schnizel (08/19/2012) [-]
marked of kane
are the best god dam mother ******* awasome soldiers in C&C universe
Kane is awesome
and gdi eats cheze wiz
User avatar #216 to #213 - marceau (08/19/2012) [-]
I see them all as equals. The scrin are defensive, GDI is a steam roller and Nod is guerrilla and rush tactics. I believe they are equal until there is a commander in charge, then they can be weaker or stronger.
#222 to #220 - marceau (08/19/2012) [-]
Yeah, they don't do so well against a true mastermind.
User avatar #227 to #222 - schnizel (08/19/2012) [-]

Okay and no, I do not feel as though we have actually made a connection as friends. We have only discussed a game series, and only a part of that as a matter of fact.

Tiberian Sun? Hell yeah. I love that game.

The old, 2-d one. Not the stupid, slow paced new ones that are out. I've never seen an RTS where the units run so ******* slow

... whats wrong with cnc3? it was ******* awesome. a 3d version of the older ones, if you ask me.

#263 to #119 - toxicxdreamzz (08/19/2012) [-]
Can you post the curiosity picture? I haven't seen any yet Thank you in advance :)
User avatar #75 - xenophaigus (08/19/2012) [-]
I do so apologize for being a buzzkillington, but this isn't post apocalyptic. This is from the series Command and COnquer, and if I'm correct, it takes place during the THird Tiberium War. Where most of the eastern seaboard and some of Europe were vastly unaffected by this plague known as Tiberium.

But who gives a **** , Tiberium makes for epic scenery

User avatar #78 to #75 - redguardsman (08/19/2012) [-]
Well, the Tiberium crisis is the worst natural disaster in all of history within that universe, and it did destroy a ******* of stuff, so I think counting that universe as Post-Apocalyptic is justified.
#54 - milkandboners (08/18/2012) [-]
I'll leave these here.
