Hipsters aren't people who like old things, hipsters are people who think they discover trends and such first. I can see where you're coming from, complaining about little kids being all try-hardy about it, I can't stand douchey try-hards... But honestly I've never in my life encountered someone who did that with older music. All the people I've met that listen to older music don't go around flaunting that fact around, they listen to their music, justly complain about today's ****** music on occasion (And generally when they do complain it's more of an empathetic sort of complaining because we don't complain to the people making the ****** music, we complain to each other. When I say they "justly" complain I mean they have a right to complain because the vast majority of today's music is complete **** .) Also, you say you made this from a "everyone has different tastes, get over it" kind of feel but then you photoshop two of the Beatles getting killed on the Abbey Road cover... Seems rather hypocritical.

Wow, this is creating a lot of controversy.
Please don't read into this too much, I simply meant it as a lighthearted joke. I also didn't create the picture, I only added the text to it. Also forgive my use of the word hipster in that case, it was the first thing to come to mind as most people stereotype hipsters as, well, snooty people who are all about things that aren't mainstream. Not sure if that whole stereotyping will start something else, but I really didn't expect to get so much hate from this site for trying to make people laugh.
As to "all the people I've met that listen to older music don't go around flaunting that fact", quite a few people at my school do that and it's quite annoying, so I suppose it just matters on your community, doesn't it?
Anyways. Sorry for offending so many people, I feel kind of bad now.

Well, I'm by no means offended despite having one of my favorite band's most famous album covers defaced <.< I just wanted to discuss it with you, really. And I don't see any hate directed at you really. Welcome to Funnyjunk, hope to see you around. Tis nice to find someone who can actually voice their opinion without getting butthurt or raging when someone else offers their own.

Aw, I'm sorry. And hahah, there was some guy who downvoted all my previous comments before a kind sir thumbed them back up :3 Besides, there's no reason to rage over someone else's opinion; with over 7 billion people in the world some are bound to agree and disagree with you, why get frustrated when you meet the latter, right? I guess it all comes down to maturity~

Sorry, I'm terrible at the whole responding within a reasonable amount of time thing >.> I haven't thumbed you either way at this point, I'll throw you some after this comment. if only for not responding for hours. And the world would for sure be a better place if more people realized that, doesn't seem like it'd be that hard of a thing to understand... but meh,

Well that's a depressing blow to my confidence. Oh well.

Sorry. Try a different approach. I mean, you almost had a point there.

Now I'm not particularly sure as to what you're referring to, but it is my first day on FJ so constructive criticism is quite welcome.

You're pretty much saying " **** your music" to the majority of the site. They'll see you as some young kid that embodies everything they hate in the world. A better way to get your point across would be to call them out for unfairly judging modern music.

Hm. I understand where you're coming from. I made this with more of a "people have different tastes, get over it" kind of feel. It does bother me when you get the 12 year olds saying "hoho look at me, I listen to Queen and Aerosmith and the Beatles, I'm totally born in the wrong generation and this music is **** ".
Admittedly the music today is questionable but there ARE some good songs out there.
Thanks for the advice though! I'll try to consider multiple approaches from now on :3
User avatar #7 to #6 - corundum (08/13/2012) [-]
That bothers me too. But the solution to people insulting music is not insulting theirs. They'll just draw comics of "disrespectful kids" making them "lose faith in humanity" and cite you as one of them.

I understand ^^ thanks a bunch~ it's nice to know people will explain and help you out on here instead of starting a ********* .
