It's always sad for me to see dreamcast, xbox and sony next to each other. It always felt like playstation killed the sega consoles, and then microsoft took its place. There are numerous simillarities between the xbox/xbox360 and the dreamcast. Very similar business strategies when launching the consoles, peripherals, and so on.

I wish they could... maybe I wouldn't have to wait for Dawnguard on the PS3.
User avatar #146 to #53 - nasavvy (08/13/2012) [-]
It's still not out for the PS3 yet? Why does Xbox come out with it before PS3. I have Dawnguard personally.

Xbox paid Bethesda to have the game on the Xbox exclusively for a week, and that is why I quit Xbox
User avatar #276 to #268 - nasavvy (08/13/2012) [-]
It's been more than a week since the Dawnguard DLC came out for XBOX, and why does that make you upset. Why quit playing XBOX when microsoft puts in extra money for the customers to get it early.

THE COLECOVISION CAME OUT IN 1984! YOUR PROFILE SAYS YOU ARE 19. THERE IS NO WAY IT COULD BE THE CONSOLE OF YOUR CHILDHOOD!

He could have played it years after it came out. I don't know why you would, but you could.

Similar to playing Super Mario on the NES. Anyone of any age will enjoy it because it's a classic.
User avatar #202 to #141 - ningyoaijin (08/13/2012) [-]
I am in fact 19. And that stops me from enjoying consoles my father gave me, how exactly?
User avatar #405 to #141 - Whetstone (08/13/2012) [-]
Actually, the colecovision came out in 1982. However, it didn't become popular until 1984.

A lot of army and navy training camps have begun using video games to partially train their soldiers.

So they do make some people killers.
#15 to #10 - anon (08/13/2012) [-]
well studies have shown that people with a more violent temper play sports games. plus if you watch the news most murders and video game violence happens during or after a sports game.

I've never played, but as long as it didn't cause you to go around your neighborhood decapitating people with a katana, it didn't make you as violent as soccer moms think it will.

video games doesnt cause violence, religion cause violence , racism cause violence , humans cause violence
#247 to #230 - anon (08/13/2012) [-]
The only violent gamers are the furious COD players who beat there moms for losing a kill streak.
User avatar #250 to #230 - leprakanye (08/13/2012) [-]
video games cause aggression which can lead to violence. But saying that the video game caused the violent act is wrong because their were numerous factors that played into the violent act. Psychology has proven this plenty of times. You cant blame any single act (music, movies, games, etc) as being the reason a violent act occurred.
#235 to #230 - tomodashi (08/13/2012) [-]
Indeed, the human kind always has been like that
they cause violence and accuse their enemies of causing that violence.
Religion is the enemy.
Politics are the enemy.
Humans are the enemy.

... humans are fascinating dont you think?
#245 to #235 - beerholder (08/13/2012) [-]
actually, it's just the human brain organizing events in a easy to comprehend state. It's easy to accuse video games for violence as easy as blaming religion.
#436 to #245 - tomodashi (08/13/2012) [-]
I would like to hear more. im interested all of a sudden
#446 to #436 - beerholder (08/13/2012) [-]
Stereotypes. this is what the brain does. And it's not just with people or events.

Right now, as you sit in front of your computer you have the map of your room in your head. You know where every piece of furniture is without really seeing it there. Your brain has mapped the room according to repeated information that has been fed to him over time. However if you try to remember where specific items are, like keys, phone, remote or any easily displaced object , you would have a hard time remembering and the brain will actually ask you to turn to your receptors to find the item.

And this is where the stereotypes come in. Receptors don't think so perception does all the **** . Your brain evaluates not on memory, but based on repeated historic events. That shirt should be on that big pile you left on the chair, the remote should be under the cushion of the couch, the ******* will steal your bike, <- wellthatescalatedquickly.jpg.

I guess you catch my drift. Sorry if some parts inaccurate, but english is not my native language.
#447 to #446 - tomodashi (08/13/2012) [-]
English is not my native language either; and thank you very much.
