I would've thought funnyjunk would actually seriously appreciate what Curiosity will do for scientists, I don't get the internet anymore.

PENIS
#24 to #9 - anon (08/11/2012) [-]
It hasn't done anything for science and wasn't intended to. Similar to putting a man of the moon they were basically just ding it because they could, and because they were CURIOUS. Get the name now? The same curiosity you feel when you're looking around an empty house, you know there's nothing in there to see, you just want to look around for the sake of looking around.
#28 to #24 - fuckdapolice (08/11/2012) [-]
But what if we found something awesome like a fossil of sorts? Sometimes curiosity will give a lot back.
#30 to #28 - fuckdapolice (08/11/2012) [-]
I'm actually pretty sure they did send Curiosity to look for fossils, that's why they sent it to the lowest altitude part of Mars, because that's where the most ancient life would be.
User avatar #36 to #24 - zraxx (08/11/2012) [-]
But that's what a good percentage of science today is, Doing **** because we can and its ******* cool.
User avatar #50 to #9 - norbit (08/11/2012) [-]
>implying funnyjunk is one group of people with all one single set of thoughts and beliefs.
User avatar #22 to #9 - rainbowtacos (08/11/2012) [-]
From what I've seen, a lot of funnyjunk does appreciate it, but that doesn't mean this isn't funny? I laughed...
#29 to #22 - fuckdapolice (08/11/2012) [-]
I never said it wasn't funny, I laughed too, but i thought this would be something to be praised and not really made fun of. I would expect a post of the OP being posted by some dumb bitch on Facebook and everyone agrees with her, but I'm high as balls.
User avatar #31 to #29 - rainbowtacos (08/11/2012) [-]
Looking back at it, I could see how it could be thought that this was making fun of nasa, but honestly the first time i saw it I didn't think it was.
User avatar #10 to #9 - ragingbrony (08/11/2012) [-]
Strange...I would've thought FunnyJunk would make jokes and try to be funny...
#11 to #10 - fuckdapolice (08/11/2012) [-]
I think I stated this wrong, Funnyjunk will joke about some things and make fun of others, such as Ryan Dunn's death and 9/11. We make 9/11 jokes all day long, but we mourn over Ryan's death. There are just some things we make fun of and some things we take seriously, for whatever reason.
User avatar #13 to #11 - deezknuts (08/11/2012) [-]
that's because nobody laughed when the world trade center superglued its ballsack to bam margera's dad's chest hair
#18 to #13 - fuckdapolice (08/11/2012) [-]
Well, there was probably a guy who did a lot of crazy and funny **** like that in college and high school who died in the World Trade Center on 9/11. It was probably the same to you as it was to his friends. I'm not trying to be a moral fag here, I'll laugh at pictures of ****** up bodies because their faces look funny when it's split open, I'm just being realistic.
User avatar #20 to #18 - deezknuts (08/11/2012) [-]
Oh no, I totally agree I'm just saying it was more personal (and more recent) since ryan dunn had just been in a movie that a lot of people enjoyed, whereas 9/11 was something where if you werent directly affected, you only felt the patriotic sorrow that slowly fades with time, which would cause those who werent affected personally to misunderstand tbe significance of the event.
#26 to #20 - fuckdapolice (08/11/2012) [-]
You are completely right and that's the exact reason why Funnyjunk just sometimes doesn't make sense to me because I've been completely dehumanized to just about everything in the world except maybe 8 people in my family so I don't feel bad when I see celebrities dying.
