I hope all of you idiots know that Lil Wayne was already in the rap industry before Tupac died.

Erm you do know that was 96, so for over a decade no one had heard of his ass?

A decade of no one knowing his crap = he sucked back then, and he was probably working at mcdonalds because his raps were not paying him **** back then.

Hopsin sounds more like he is trying to be eminem in the early years. Any mother ****** can find underground rap thanks to the internet. Back in 94, most people unless they were in the surrounding area, would not know who that is. What you said is equivalent to me asking if you know who walking corpse syndrome is. So when some really good underground rapper was discovered back then, it was a big thing.

*facepalm* I am not here to argue about the internet back in the day.

For example: an underground georgian death metal band by the name of baphomet, released an album titled the dead shall inherit, in 92. They died out quick due to there being little to no way to make publicity back then, though they inspired many new bands, as well as many bands doing covers of their songs.

I honestly enjoy the song: ILL MIND OF HOPSIN, but most people who listen to new rap know who he is...

Hopsin got fame by dissing other rappers, kind of pathetic if you ask me, and he's not underground. Immoral Technique and Tonedeff are underground.

He dissed Lupe Fiasco. Why? because Lupe said he supports skateboarders and then proceeded to say "I bet you can't even ollie" that's one of the most pathetic things I have heard in rap.

No he actually started in Cash Money records in 1992 when he was 9 and a little after that he was in a group called the Hot Boys.

So that makes it even better? Now that is almost 2 decades of him not being known, hell ICP was more known than him at the start [around the same time] so how dose the fact that he never did **** with his career till auto-tune came out?

Please do inform me how i am mistaken.

Are you serious man? Have you heard I miss my dawgs and everything? Those are two of his top songs and they came out in 2004 and 2000 Plus most of his auto-tuned songs are serious. You don't know **** about Lil Wayne do you?

04, 00, that is still around a decade of no one knowing him.

I have also heard his "heavy metal", my sister used to be a serious boot licker of the weezy effect. I have heard just about all of his songs, and even his good songs are worse than cypress hills worst songs.

I know more than most, along with the amount i know about little wayne, I know he is a ****** artist.

Think about this, no one asked Lil Wayne to try a different genre, no one asked him to learn guitar, no one asked him to skateboard. But he keeps an open mind to new things he might not be very good at them but he's learning, that's a reason I got respect for him, also his loyalty to his record label, and his charity organization. I like his music but he has contributed more to society than anyone that talks **** about him.

I help out at food banks, dog shelters, and i do random acts of kindness every chance i get.

He pollutes the young minds of kids thinking what he raps about is cool to do.
^sure that is a parent problem, but i have yet to see a kid follow death metal lyrics like they do with him.

The rest of your argument is quite equal to the defense people put up against haters of the beiber craze, or brony culture. I am not saying he is ****, since obviously some idiots people like his music. I just think that he should not have so many people on his coattails thinking he is a demi-god to modern society and music for that matter.

Well technically, according so some lyric analyzers he is sort of a demi-god, see most of the time his lyrics have a second meaning, that's why he said "I think you stand under me, if you don't understand me"

I must admit My Homies still isn't the best example.

I, knock on the door, hope isn't home,
fates not around, the lucks all gone
don't ask me whats wrong, ask me whats right
and ima tell you whats life
and did you know?
I lost everything, but I ain't the only one
first came the hurricane, then the morning sun
Excuse me if I'm on one, and don't trip if i light one, i walk a tight one
They try to tell me keep my eyes open
my whole city under water, some people still floatin
then they wonder why black people still voting, cause your presidents still chokin
Take away the football team, the basketball team
now all we got is me to represent New Orleans
no governor, no help from the mayor
just a steady beatin heart, and a wish and a prayer

Well is that your best example of his lyrical genius? If it is i know of 2 different songs off the top of my head that are deeper than that, also my sister lived in Orleans during katrina, she even named my dog after it. So his deep song is equal to that one guy who sung about the twin towers?

the time you caught me smoking herb in the house, I was

I didn't say lyrically genius, I said his lyrics in songs that are seemingly stupid mean something else. www.songmeanings.net/songs/view/3530822107858859517/ Read the first comment, this guy kind of has a point, not that I completely believe it.

You said some lyrical analysts think he is a sort of demigod, do we not all know that many analysts can find meaning in gibberish even if there was really no real meaning inside it?

Yeah that's what I thought about this guy and I'm sure some of it can was just what the lyrics said, but I feel like there's more than meets the eye.

Honestly, You gained a mark or two in my favor. I have debated how crappy little wayne was, and you are the only one to present a decent argument against it being ****. I still think he sucks, but hey everyone likes what they like, i like my music to have meaning even when there is no lyrics in the song.
