it annoys me how people are protesting random restaurants and giving hard-working employees a hard time cause the owner and CEO doesn't support gay marriage.

People are overreacting a bit. Its not like chick-fil-a wont let gay people eat there. There is no visible discrimination. They don't have to use different water fountains. The owner simply does not agree with gay rights, which he is fully entitled to do. You aren't going to change his mind with protoests, its just his opinion.

He was asked what his opinion was; everyone got pissy when he told them.

Ok. I do care, obviously. As a New Englander, I've never been in one, since there are only three outlets in the whole region. That being said, I think that several things need to be said here. First of all, the CEO has a right to be anti-gay marriage. If he wanted to say that we should not allow interracial marriage, I still wouldn't give a flying **** about it. What does bother me is that his company is a major player in the "Christian Values" crowd, donating a hell of a lot of money to various conservative organizations. That bothers me. I don't think that a company should be allowed to donate money to lobby groups, period. Funds and such are a different story, but a franchised corporation designed to make a profit has NO right to push its founder's beliefs using its monetary might. If the CEO wanted to donate using his personal fortune, I would be fine with it. But when a company gets involved, I see an issue. Corporations are not people, they have no opinions on gay marriage. Thus, the founder should NEVER use his company as a vehicle of blatant mass promotion of his or her own views. A company has a right to make a profit and usually do it unmolested, but if it becomes such a vehicle, then I think that, while technically legally, they have violated a code of ethics about behavior. Just my thoughts.

Does it really matter if you support or your against gay rights? The matter at hand is that that man has never eaten at a Chick-Fil-A! The other matter at hand is how the **** do we get that rainbow Oreo...

It's not our business what gay people do. Not mine, nor a politician's.
