If Alan Touring is the father of computers...

Does that make him, as the OP of computers, a fag?

Well, since he is already a "fag", I'd say yes.

There's also good ol' Alberta in the north.

You know.. where the oil reserve is comparable in size to saudi arabia's?
Or where the oil is conflict free?
Where gay marriage is ok?
Oh... and where we're happily giving jobs to American war veterans that American companies won't hire because they don't want to employ someone who could be randomly called away to serve.

That's right.

Good Guy Canada: Supporting everyone ELSES war veterans, too.

Wish I would have thought to say that.

Good to see people still remember Canada.

To bad we can't have Canadian Oil because the eco-terrorists are worried for a spill, kinda like how America won't make American oil because of the eco-terrorists, so we decide to lend it to the British (which just turned out so well.)

A few oily birds for Albertan oil vs an entire oiled gulf for offshore oil vs thousands of dead soldiers for middle eastern oil...

Put the damn pipeline in, buy some soap, and the soldiers whose lives are saved by it would gladly wash oil off birds as a show of gratitude.

and one of the nice things about land based pipelines is that every few kilometers you have what is called a "line break", which is an emergency shutoff valve that will automatically close off the pipeline should a rupture occur.
Sure, bp had emergency valves on the gulf rig, but the difference here is that bp was ignoring the required maintenance on those valves. something about it being too costly and inconvenient to test/repair them. the valves on land are a fair bit easier to maintain.

I would know, those systems are part of my job.

(pic related: mfw someone in my line of work could have prevented the bp spill)

I don't think the first guy was trying to denounce gay marriage, I just think he was pointing out how stupid it is to boycott a company because of trivial crap like that.
User avatar #20 - facedodge (08/06/2012) [-]
Because OP's point was that boycotts are cool... ******* liberals.

the guys was asked a question and he answered honestly, i dont know why they're making a big deal about it. It wasn't like he Bashed homosexuals
#53 - sammen (08/06/2012) [-]
I think people aren't just throwing a hissy fit because he came out saying he supports traditional marriage, I think people are throwing a hissy fit because alongside supporting traditional marriage some of the profits of Chik Fil A go to anti-homosexual organizations. THAT is why people boycott, or at least the smart people.

It's a chicken sandwich fast food shop. Good food, ridiculously christian owner. Since I'm buying chicken and not religious opinions, I'll keep eating there.
User avatar #40 to #38 - tarantallegra (08/06/2012) [-]
I see no problem with eating there though it's against gay rights. I'm an LBGT rights supporter, but I wouldn't stop eating for that :l
User avatar #41 to #40 - zraven (08/06/2012) [-]
I'm entirely for gay rights. I'm also for free speech. He has a right to be against gay marriage. I can't penalize him for his opinions when I have my own.

Took me a while to understand it. Jacob is against gays and Randy is pro-gay and saying he's a hypocrite because he's using a computer to type that on facebook and alan was gay.
#2 - mariogomez (08/05/2012) [-]
Ye great logic, except the Saudi government isn't spending millions of dollars to fight against equal rights for gays in America. They are busy using that money to keep women from driving, a just cause in my opinion.

A recent study shows that men are responsible for 93% of fatal car collisions, that means that women are responsible for the other 7%.

Bloody women drivers.
#7 to #2 - anon (08/06/2012) [-]
well obviously men are gonna be in more accidents than women if women aren't even driving . If you're trying to say men are the bad drivers in saudi arabia than you are terribly wrong they are amazing dune racers
#9 to #7 - anon (08/06/2012) [-]
>Implying men don't drive more than men
#8 to #7 - mariogomez (08/06/2012) [-]
No the study report was done about accidents in the UK, not Saudi Arabia
