Neat. found it on stumbleupon, thought it was neat... one problem with that design, how will it fit in car cupholders?

anyone else see this less on coke being greener to the environment but trying to save on shipping and production costs?
User avatar #65 to #61 - ogctom (08/06/2012) [-]
theoretically with the hard angles it would require more pressure in the molds to produce resulting in more energy used. plus these things will never be cleanable(hard angles don't rinse well) eliminating recycling opportunities (water bottle, etc.) . so you are correct to assume they would do it for personal reasons.

Also, the cavity at the bottom that helps them stack it tricks people because it makes the volume of the bottle smaller.
#85 to #79 - senglish (08/06/2012) [-]
not really it's probably a 16 or 20 oz.

What I'm getting at is that at first glance,it seems bigger than it really is.

From my understanding of the matter, they do this because the water/ice that was chilling the cola is often times contaminated and would get onto the cap/pull tab, which would end up getting into your mouth and making you sick. So if you put it in a bag, the contaminants wont come in contact with your lips making it safe to drink

I'm an american living in Peru, and they do something similar, except it's with lemonade and chicha morada. (purple corn drink, in case you were wondering)

MFW I got a drink-in-a-bag for the first time.

I used to live in the Philippines and they do this so they can save the glass bottles and sell them because they get a "rebate" for the glass.

One of the dope ass teachers picks a handful of kids each year to go on a trip with him. We've gone to Costa Rica, Italy and Greece.

I don't know men, they do this if the bottle is made of glass, because they need to return the recipient to the manufacturer. If not, you have to pay for the bottle or return it later and get the money back.

BTW 6000 pesos (colones) for a Coke is to expensive, that's like 12$ for just a coke.
#305 to #139 - brutalnooodle (08/06/2012) [-]
I just threw out an exceptionally large number. I didn't think it would actually be close haha.
User avatar #179 to #139 - rplix (08/06/2012) [-]
People in foreign countries like the ripoff unsuspecting tourists.

Most tourists don't understand a colones to dollar ratio so they get ripped off thinking they got a good deal.

I know but what I meant was it seems like something out of deus ex or a scifi movie.

I'm typing this on a computer I can carry around in my pocket. THE FUTURE IS NOW BUCKO.
User avatar #312 to #111 - coolfuzzy (08/06/2012) [-]
I'm not saying now isn't the future I'm just saying that the bottle has a futuristic look which can be a completely different thing than something in the future. Also the present is now.
