i have very weird dreams, usually they are one of the four here;

1) dreams i can control but are very short
2) dreams that have no logic, usually in places that don't make sense and keep changing
3) very very bad dreams, i used to get them a lot but not so much, the most common of these is a zombie apocalypse and my weapon literally vanishes out of my hands.
4) dreams that continue, like tv episodes though they are usually months or even years apart, i could tell you about one that started years ago and keeps continuing if anyone cares...

Yeah i only did that because i'm bored, i doubt anyone will even read this... (gif unrelated, just funny)

I've had similar, continuing dreams always weird me out.

but my lucid dreams are insane, my favorite trick is repulse from Star wars force unleashed 2, recently i've become invisible, being able to fly happens every time, and sometimes I manage to change people's appearances and buildings around me (extremely disappointing to wake up from)

but the weirdest thing was when a dream had ending credits, which means my subconscious named itself (unfortunately cant remember what)

I was fighting zombies in a dream with a pistol when it suddenly turned into a water pistol MFW

I had a zombie apocalypse dream once.

It started out on my patio, with Bruce Willis fighting a zombie on the edge of my pool. Cool as **** , right? So I go, for some reason, to the backyard, and there's this ****** zombie, fro and everything.

He starts chasing me, and grabs my wrists, so I'm trying to push him off. I say, "BRUCE, HELP." And he responds with, "I'm a little busy here!" As he continues to hit the zombie he was fighting with an axe. So I turn my attention back to this ****** that is biting at me like I'm made of ******* watermelon, and he pushes me into the pool. I couldn't breathe, but I made it out.

I make it into my house and grab a knife, this ****** will not let go. I stab it into his head like a fork into a delicious turkey dinner, and he drops. Bruce has taken care of his zombie, and meets me inside.

We head towards the nearest train station, and board the last outgoing train to ******************* . As we're standing, I notice a little flashing bump on the floor, and Bruce grabs me by the waist and throws me out the window of this subway. We somehow survive the impact against the narrow space between the speeding train and the wall, and start to run. The train explodes behind us, and we're standing there, wondering what the **** to do now.

So we head back to the ************* station, and stop as we hear this weird stepping noise. These things were walking in line behind one another in the terminal. Their legs were positioned like a three legged stool, and they had triangular bodies. The skin was stretched so thin over them that every muscle could be seen as they walked. There were piles of bodies up past the yellow line of the the terminal. That's all I rememeber.

Sorry for the long post ._.

I dreamed that i ****** a girl in a mouse mascot costume, and I never saw her before. A few days later, I was fapping and say a porn video of a woman, wearing a mouse mascot costume, with the same facial structure, eye color, hair color, boob size, everything...

She must be my soulmate.

You think it was the exact same, because your brain simply replaced what you thought you saw with the girl you saw in the porn video. Trust me, I'm anonymous.

Seconded. Some people think it's easy but it's actually quite hard to force yourself to write in a journal directly after you wake up, at least for the first 2 weeks.

I've had lots of experience in lucid dreaming, anyone can message me for advice.

can it backfire?

very rarely, you may wake up and go into a state of sleep paralysis, which can be quite scary. They rarely happen but, as you continue to attempt lucid dreams, chances are you will encounter it. But don't let it throw you off :) it's an experience I think everyone should experience at some stage.

I once went into sleep paralysis, I was in my room and I hallucinated that my door handle slowly opened, and it let in a small beam of light. This light was blocked for a second, and I seen a dark, wispy figure float in and lurk into the dark corner of my room. From there it watched me. I could see two red, glowing eyes staring at me, I could feel it looking at me. I couldn't move. All I could think was,"What the **** is that thing?". At this stage I realised I was in sleep paralysis (I had done extensive research at the time) And I tried to jolt myself awake. I awoke with a cold sweat, shivering from being scared ( ******* morbid, huh?), and sat there for a good 10 minutes with the light on, searching my room.

It's happened to me a few times differently, like a dark figure holding me down etc. But the first time (With the glowing eyes) was the worst of all.

You need to look past this and be able to see what you can do, for example superpowers (I once shot fire from my fists). Even If you don't lucid dream, you will find that your normal dreams are exciting as well.

In conclusion, yes it can backfire, but don't let it throw you off. Nothing can be gained without sacrifice. Peace out.

Your experience may vary

Not really, I've never done anything apart from keeping a journal. But there may be other ways to do it.

Keeping a journal will enhance your current dreams and increase your chances of having a lucid dream. Instead of having blurry, foggy dreams, you will have clearer, sharper dreams. You'll become more and more familiar of what a dream feels like, and eventually realise one night, that you are dreaming. It's at this stage that you become lucid.

now there are certain ways of testing if you are dreaming, these are called triggers. You can read about them, and gain some more helpful info here: www.wikihow.com/Lucid-Dream

I would usually go into greater depth about dreaming, but It's nearly 04:30 where I live, and I feel pretty tired. Private message me if you want to ask any questions or anything and I'll try to get back to you :A

Scariest dream I've ever had was kinda messed up. I was in my room and a little girl appeared out of no where and she asked me for help, I went on my knee and she grabbed my neck with both hands and started choking me, she had an iron grip. When I tried waking up I couldn't, my eyes wouldn't open nor could I move.

i had a lucid nightmare once, i was in my room holding a porcelain doll that was making static noises, it freaked me out so i threw it down the hall, it fell close to my door so i got it and threw it farther, then i closed the door, but it started pushing back trying to open so i pushed against it, i looked up and i saw a bunch of eyes staring at my from a little cabinet door on top of the door, i held it closed with one hand and closed my eyes and kept telling myself it was a dream until i woke myself up.

Once I tried to stop drinking coca-cola, I eat healthy all except for the fact that I drink to much coke.
Then I had a dream about walking through a maze, and all throughout the maze where secret compartments with coca-cola stashed in them, I kept finding them and drinking them, in(some how) full awareness that I would never escape the maze unless I stopped.
Then I woke up, and had a coke.

I once had a dream where I woke up and felt sick, then I would tell my mom that I wasn't feeling well and go back to sleep. The dream itself wasn't weird it was the fact that it kept repeating 8 or 9 times throughout the night with only small things like the color of the walls or my shirt changing.
MFW I actually woke up feeling sick and wasn't sure if this was reality

#42 to #29 - goblinqueen (08/04/2012) [-]
It's weird; it feels as if I'm shaking my head, but my movement is heavily constricted. Eventually, it causes the dream to stop and I'll wake up.

I fear the night that this may no longer work...

Since I've been gaming most of my life, whenever I encounter a nightmare the only form of lucidity I can handle is pulling up a menu by somehow pressing an escape button and hit 'Quit Game' I then instantly wake up. Although since I've picked up on this ability (Usually this happens when zombies invade my dreams) Last time it occurred I didn't press quit, I went back into the dream and summoned weapons. Was pretty cool.
#35 to #34 - Rascal (08/04/2012) [-]
So basically in nightmares I'm like NOPE.jpg and hit Quit then wake up.

One of my more crazy dreams I remember.

> Walking to school, accidentally fall into the ditch(not sure how), where the water is at most half a foot high.
> Now it's apparently enough to cover the entire body. Swim up to the surface only to find out I'm inside my parents sailing boat, this boat does not have underwater access panel of any sort.
> Proceed to leave the boat out the back exit, end up in a city. Boat is gone and no idea where I am.
> Head for a bar and end up on a large green field.
Dream ends there.

I hate when I have nightmares about running away from things but you can't exactly run at all but do a slow motion walk when whatever is chasing you is actually running.

I also remember one time I was actually able to stab myself in the stomach and the most scary thing was. I was feeling colder and colder until I woke up but I still felt the coldness on my stomach. This was in the summer under a nice warm blanket.

Aliens are no longer nightmare worthy stuff for me. I was able to befriend the Queen and make her my pet. She did kill me 3 times before I was able to pet her. Since then those aliens have not been able to scare me in my dreams. :)

Okay, I think they forgot one.

Has anyone ever been dreaming, then see a quick image or about 1 second of something from real life, then the exact thing you saw happens sometime within the next couple weeks?

I've only met 2 other people that this has happened to, used to happen to me at least once a week when I was a kid, and still happens every so often now (I'm 18).
#78 to #64 - ThumbingUp (08/04/2012) [-]
No. That's a sort of deja vu feeling which.. isn't true at all.

Sometimes things happen in life and your brain goes "LOL I DREAM THIS" but, no you didn't. Your brain creates a lot of memories that never happened.
User avatar #86 to #78 - jrondeau **User deleted account** (08/04/2012) [-]
Here's the best one I remember:

When I was back in 5th grade, I saw a picture of a chess board from a certain angle with the pieces all over the board (obviously a game was being played, and it had been going on for a while). I remembered it well (which didn't usually happen) and just kinda went about the next couple days wondering why I had dreamed that particular, specific image for no reason. Then, after about 3 days, I walked into chess club (yes, chess club) over to a game being played, and the pieces were arranged in that exact order, and I was looking at it from the same angle as I had dreamed it. Then I was all "I dreamed that the other day! That's so cool!" and everyone thought I was nuts, even when I explained it to them.

I'm somewhat familiar with your brain creating memories out of the blue though (read an article on cracked).
#91 to #86 - ThumbingUp (08/04/2012) [-]
Ok. You probably walked in, saw a similarly setup chess board, and your brain "remembered" the memory of another board arranged the same way, when it reality it's not likely it was. Unless you had a photo in hand of the first board for comparison, it is hardly likely the boards were perfectly exact.

And even if they were, what's the point? So two other people made similar moves in a chess game that others had in a previous game.
User avatar #95 to #91 - jrondeau **User deleted account** (08/04/2012) [-]
But like I said before, I walked around the couple days before wondering why the hell I saw that oddly specific configuration of chess pieces from that specific angle in my dream.

And I guess this thing really doesn't have much of a point other than I find it rather neat.
#99 to #95 - ThumbingUp (08/04/2012) [-]
Well, that could just be your brain doing dumb **** again like our brains tend to do.. "lol lemme remember this particular image.. but that test you're studying for..? i'ma throw that **** out."
