CONSIDERING each medal won at the olympics was made by different people, you got 2549 people out of 330.000.000 that has won a medal at the olympics. That's less than 0,000008% that has won a medal.

Taking Denmark for instance (I live there, so obvious pick) 171 out of 5.500.000 people has won a medal. That's more than 0,00003% that has won a medal in Denmark.

Sry, America. You're fat. And you just got lawyered

If I see flawed logic, I correct it.
If an American claims that he is not fat, because one person won a gold medal. Or that he is not stupid because one person landed on the moon. Then they are using the accomplishments of a miniscule portion of society and trying to represent themselves with it.

Considering your logic, India must be a **** load fatter and lazier than America.

21 total medals in olympic history, 1.2 billion people.

That's about 1 medal for every 57 million people. Damn they're fat and lazy there.
#484 to #308 - Rascal (08/01/2012) [-]
That's not his point and your logic is idiotic. Does India look fat and lazy to you? They're just a goddamn 3rd world country. America has the largest population out of all 1st world countries so consider that.
#611 to #484 - Rascal (08/01/2012) [-]
You guys know that 1st 2nd and 3rd world countries are political alignments in the cold war right? ******** .

So in your logic, china and India should have more medals than the USA, but they don't.
User avatar #250 to #190 - analleakage (07/31/2012) [-]
No, but that's because India and China is bad at the Olympic Games that are being played. Just like the low-middle populated countries with few medals.

Seriously, does anyone have some goddamn logic, on funnyjunk?
User avatar #825 to #250 - JoshBauer (08/01/2012) [-]
So you're saying that the USA is good at the Olympics? Then why are you calling us fat?
User avatar #174 to #49 - trenchman (07/31/2012) [-]
The post is not referring to per capita but overall, so yes, it may be because America has the fourth-largest population in the world, but it DOES hold the most medals. So lawyering it wasn't necessary, it was just your attempt to discredit any national pride we can feel.

...and to be honest, right now the only country in Europe I have respect for is Germany, considering they aren't slowly sinking into economic despair.
User avatar #252 to #174 - analleakage (07/31/2012) [-]
The picture refers to per capita by saying Americans aren't fat, because they have some few medals in a country with a high population. My comment is to show that his statement doesn't make Americans appear thinner.

getting mad because we use the "we've been to the moon" thing even though only a fraction of our people have actually been there is just as silly as calling every american fat just because a fraction (keep in mind it is a slightly bigger fraction than most) of our people are fat.

"Americans" came from countries SUCH AS Denmark, and from your statement, you're implying that different techniques can't be taught from country to country.

Also check your grammar, dude.
User avatar #175 to #66 - trenchman (07/31/2012) [-]
So what you are claiming is that whenever an American does something that deserves praise, a country somewhere else deserves credit because you're an ancestor?

Sorry, but that argument doesn't work. Technically, YOU'RE a descendant of an Ethiopian man, but Ethiopia doesn't claim credit every time you do something right, does it? That, and they're a bit too hungry to care.
