Marie Nu, because the bible says not to. Leviticus
35: 13 .. " a man lies with a man as one lies with it woman,
both of them have done what is detestable. They must be
pat to death: their blood will be on their own heads.‘

William Yes. And as for the bible, you have to look at
the context and the meaning behind the words. Leviticus
was all about putting things Into categories and different
categories did not mix, So technically you break God' s law if
you wear clothes that are a blend of two different fibers.
Divorce is also condemned in Leviticus but we don' t forbid
people to divorce. Also, you should be condemned if you
touch a woman in any way within 7 days of her period. What
Leviticus actually meant in “man shall not he with man as he
does with a woman" means a man should not treat a fellow
man as his interior as he would a woman. because treating a
man as a woman was wrong. Back then, every woman
belonged to some mam either her father or her husband.
Having sea after the wedding to consummate the marriage
was the man officially claiming ownership of his new woman.
If you have sex with a virgin woman, then you had damaged
another man' s property. So in essence, Leviticus was
property law, and your argument is invalid. Nowadays the
Bible is used selectively " a weapon, so unless you want to
kill all unmarried. women. divorcee; and
people who wear mixed fabrics. you can stop preaching.

For anyone willing to listen, I would like to quote a few verses that sum up my opinion:

1. Romans 3:23 "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" i.e everyone has sinned, no one is perfect

2. John 8:7 "Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone" i.e as seen above, that means no one but God has the right to judge another, especially because of a sin they committed

3. John 15:12 "My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you." i.e love unconditionally regardless of any perceived sin

The Bible asks of us that we leave the problem of sin to the individual and God, and focus 100% on loving them and bringing them healing and forgiveness.

I dont know why people take a book written by people thousands of years a go, who most likely had mental conditions, so seriously.

I call myself a christian, but i dont care for the bible one bit. I believe in god, and i treat other people with love and respect. I simply try to do good by my fellow man, and not judge them by what they like.

(inb4 massive red thumbs for being a Christian)
Here.. we.. go.. haha.

Leviticus is old Jewish laws that Christians USED to have to live by. It's Old Testament; not New Testament. When you read the 4 gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John) when Jesus was on Earth he clearly indicates that he has come to fulfill the law of Moses (old Jewish laws in Leviticus) . He fulfills the law and lives a perfect sinless life. Something only God could do. Something we could never do.

So he fulfills the law, simply so he can lay down a newer and much simpler law for us. Because what the old law did was simply show us how sinful we really were. It showed us that we needed God. But instead of God leaving us at that with all these harsh rules that we could never fulfill. He instead comes down in human form as Jesus and fulfills the law for us so we don't have to live by it.

All God wants us to do is to love him and love others.

Thanks for anyone who read, sorry for the long read and i'm not trying to act like I have all the answers I just wanna give it from a Christian perspective.

I wonder how many people on Earth know that Leviticus is just for the Levite tribe of Israel.

How about we just have separation of Church and State. It'd be kinda like how our forefathers wanted things to be, only exactly like that!

People don't seem to realize that the Bible was written by human beings. Who are clearly fallible. I think anyone (on either side) who has to pull a single quote out of their ass to support their argument is probably retarded. It's one of the longest books in history, anything important is repeated and stated clearly numerous times throughout. If God really hated gays with such a passion it probably would have been in bold print, it wouldn't just be slipped in "btw, gays are abominations"

This will be just perfect for any future religious debates...
