I blame three things: Parents, most of all; Media; and culture. I think that kids nowadays are conditioned from a very young age to believe that they are entitled to a ******* of respect from people, especially adults. Not only that, the extra 'special' ones get COMPLETE immunity from real world consequenses because they're 'mentally challenged'. And I'm not talking about the actually retarded kids. I feel bad for them. The people I don't feel bad for are the people with "independent educational plans" just because daddy pulled some strings with the system and saved your fat, lazy ass. The media makes in VERY clear from a young age that only extroverted, risktaking is good. Knowledge is made out to be a bad thing and something to be feared. Caution is to be thrown to the wind. Respect is something you are entitled to, in this twisted fantasy world, not something you earned. I EARNED my ******* respect. I wasn't handed my life to me on a silver platter. Kids nowadays are conditioned to think and act like ******* teenaged pop stars from about, oh, let's say, KINDERGARTEN. I absolutely hate what we have become. Lazy. Parents are lazy, living out their selfish, adolescent lifestyles, which, may I add, usually includes divorce. Pop out a kid, send him to day care, where he learns that only the strong survive, send him/her to elementary school, where he/she either lives or dies. In high school, they get knocked up at some drunk party and then they have a kid and the cycle repeats. Because that's what we've become. Our culture has been so watered down by the human jackolanterns on TV and the other jack offs that we surround ourselves with that we don't even see the truth in the mirror anymore. We need to wake up, but I don't think that we will. I actually think that we can't anymore. Maybe it's chemical. Maybe it's cultural. I don't give a **** . If society wants destroy itself, then so be it. Because I'll end out on top, as will most of you.

only one preggo bitch as far as i know. 90% of my friends are at least a year older than me, if not adults.
User avatar #204 to #201 - izzalitious (07/24/2012) [-]
Same the only friends I have in my class are the ones I've had since my little Girl Scout years which is prob about 4 people the rest are 16+ and a few really dope ass gonna be freshman I've known forever too. I also live in Hicktown Redneck Hillbilly Town so that may have something to do with all the redneck babies and their moms who want to keep the kid...

i live in a backwards land where the black people are well educated and will most likely get jobs and the white kids are snapback wearing pot smoking douche nozzles. otherwise known as easton massachusetts.

Here your critizised for not loving the lord or thinking about liking the same sex or liking the same sex or having sex with the same sex because Jesus said no even though I've studied the Bible more than most of these idiots *eye roll* I suppose you can say I'm a dime a dozen there. It's weird when I'm the loser though...May I ask if you are a "douche nozzle" white person a "well educated" black dude or just like black or white in general. Or Asian....Yellows cool too...

So I suppose I'm part of this ****** up generation we all talk about? I'm going to be a sophomore this year and at the end of the year we had like 4 pregnant freshman (my 2015 class) and well it kinda stinks....because everyone there is mean, and idiotic. I once had someone try to convince me that Canada is in fact a state and another one yell at me for saying "your testosterone levels are through the roof" claiming I insulted him...

I'm not sure if it's my generation or if it's just because I'm in HickTown in the center of Missouri.....

*sigh* I'm sorry so many are stupid....

Well, when it comes to the Canada comment, I call hicktown.
User avatar #103 to #96 - artillerysmith (07/24/2012) [-]
Yes. Now this:
It all boils down to: Are the parents worth a scrap of **** . When I was a kid the same stuff was going on in the media. My parents explained that what was on TV is FANTASY even though it's called a reality show. When I went to school I was small for may age up until high school. I didn't have to deal with bullies because the second time I got into a fight I kick some ass in stead of going to tell a teacher. Once I hit high school no one could remember why they didn't screw with me they just didn't.
TLDR: I agree with you, but you have to protect yourself. The kids in the comic would make the perfect specimen if they were mixed together.
User avatar #108 to #103 - bgbba (07/24/2012) [-]
This is true. I think that the main issue is that parents don't raise their kids anymore. I think that radical feminism is somewhat to blame, but I think that mainly it's that parents nowadays don't actually care enough to maintain a family. I know that it's a pretty grave charge to level at them, but I think that the majority of society has reached a point of moral and mental degradation that they cannot see beyond themselves, not even to their own families.
#217 to #108 - dadukesta (07/24/2012) [-]
Sadly it is true. Radical feminism truly has destroyed the balance of family and work. Not to mention the horrible economy. This **** has gone on for far too long!!! I'm proud to be among you all who understand this world like i do!
User avatar #141 to #96 - popkornking (07/24/2012) [-]
Exactly, ever since the concept of "being yourself and not caring what people think of you" was conceived as a way of letting kids know that being laughed at didn't matter, it has slowly been warped into the idea that you should do supremely ******* stupid things and not care about the consequences because the only opinion that matters is yours! And if you want to go get drunk and pregnant, that's your choice and anyone who tells you that you've ****** up is just labeled a "hater" and should be ignored. Stupidity is becoming the majority, and what the majority says is what's labeled as truth.
User avatar #240 to #141 - bgbba (07/24/2012) [-]
I was bullied for years in elementary school. Why? Because I came from a non-broken home, where my parents raised me with real life limits. But to the other kids, I was just a baby, so I was picked on. It's the same deal. And these kids were NEVER punished, because many of them had "family issues". Family issues my ass. If I were the principal, I would have spanked the little ******* right then and there.

User avatar #129 to #123 - bgbba (07/24/2012) [-]
They don't. If they even get it at all, which sometimes I doubt, it's often ineffective. Parents are weak willed. They give in. When their daughter says: "Mommy, I want a cell phone" at ten years old, they give it. Xbox Live? Same deal, but for boys.
User avatar #140 to #129 - gimmeyobrain (07/24/2012) [-]
well i live in the south and if you have a redneck old fashioned dad like i do..and a crazy mom who will go ******* on your ass..you learn to respect and take what you are given. its not ask and you shall recieve for me, its work, then we'll talk. also kids go with the crowd my bro. kids like all this rap and mtv stuff simply because everybody else does. and this culture thats been created is all about 'swag' ye ye smoke weed ***** boats'n hoes. the only hope in this world is the kids who see through the ******** and have had to endure at an early age for example: moving from your home town or taking care of a dieing parent on your own. BUT DONT LOSE HOPE YET also look at us funnyjunkers all agreeing. you have to have some intelligence or a good sense of humor to enjoy the humor on this sight. so theres still youth out there that can keep the world turnin

Just saying, I had a lot of extra circumstances put in place for me right the way through school. As a child I was so cripplingly scared of people that it was impossible for me to be in the same room as somebody else for more than a couple of seconds before freaking out, and that included my family. Because of that, a school day for me was a 30 second briefing followed by 3 hours alone in a room with textbooks.

Now, disliking people doesn't really seem like an excuse to get all that special treatment, but without it I would surely have been admitted into a mental institution long ago... Even people who get spoilt rotten like I was can end up as productive members of society. In my case, it's BECAUSE I was spoilt.

Yeah, but they weren't given prime time TV and allowed to breed. The point is, especially in America, the people here have been so blessed for so long that we don't even see beyond ourselves anymore. Hello, 12th grade anon here. Your reply reminded of the homecoming dance at my school this year! The freshmen we're really something. Two pregnancies and one girl is banned from walking across the stage at he graduation after getting intoxicated. I guess this is what swag does to our youth?
#159 to #156 - anon (07/24/2012) [-]
yes it is the elite controlling the media and music industry producing ******* autotuned tracks i could make with soundforge and a few hours to spare..

"swag" will get you nothing in life other than complete embarrassment and lack of respect in the job industry. but i guess that's what everyone is assuming as op said himself. a large percentage of the population just wants to live a ****** dirt poor life and not lift a finger for the bread on their table

If it makes you feel any better I was a freshman last year and I tried my hardest to stay out of people's way without letting them walk on top of me. The only real problem I had was my Spanish teacher. I studied hard every night, showed up to tutorial times even when he didn't only to have failed every single test we ever took.

Yep. There some type of mercury that they give to kids in flu vaccines too. I try not to be a conspiracy theorist, but I smell a rat. I think that society will split into an introverted, highly educated upper middle class and an undereducated waste of talent that is a lower class. In America right now, the middle class is shattering due to various forms of erosion. And the scary thing is that it's not just the money anymore. It's the culture itself. The military has gone to the lower classes. Our society is doomed unless we change REALLY quickly. The only way I see out of this is to have an economic collapse. Maybe an end to the Union. I don't know. If that's what it takes to wake people up, then so be it.
#155 to #114 - anon (07/24/2012) [-]
i wouldn't want to go into much detail but everything points straight to the oil industry. if we stayed with electric powered vehicles (yes they were invented before petrol engines) our world would be 9000x healthier.

"the technology is finally here" well a few google searches will clearly show how the elite force has been keeping it away from us this whole time...

anyways, our future is doomed and nothing can stop a fully loaded cargo train going full speed through a intersection backed up with cars
User avatar #220 to #155 - ninjaretoast (07/24/2012) [-]
This reminds me of Daniel Quinn's novel_ Ishmael_.
He explains the theory of the laws of gravitation against society.
A man makes a "plane" and pushes it of a high cliff. Since the airplane is in mid-air, he believes that the plane is in flight and working. In reality, his creation is on a crash course- and very rapidly at that.
Society is the same way! We tell everyone that we are being innovative and looking towards the future, but all we are is a failure plane descending to the ground.

Kick the **** out of him.
Knee him in the mouth.
It's not hard. You'll barely have to raise your leg.
What? You think it's wrong to beat up little kids?
Why? Is it because they don't know any better?
Then why is it OK to blame them in the first place?
They are ultimately products of their environment.
It's not they're fault they don't fit in to what you find acceptable.
It's everyone's fault. The parents, the media, and you.
You want kids to be better, make them better. Act the way you want the world to be.
You're just one person, yeah. Probably not going to have an astounding impact.
But the greatest mistake in life is doing nothing because you can only do little.
Do what you can.
