I apologize for having come across as a dick. I don't know why it came out way. I guess all I was trying to say is that some stuff get translated weird. You are right, that is in the Bible. Can't we all just get along :-(

My gosh I wish people would bother reading up on bible quotes before they post them, ESPECIALLY how words are translated. Then you wouldn't look uneducated when you post stuff like this.

Being a Christian is about being tolerant and loving! Instead, because we're human, people have been hurt and alienated by Christians. It's this ******** that puts people off and reinforces the beliefs of jaded atheists and other nonbelievers. Take the log out of your own eye.

(for anyone who doesn't give a **** , I apologize, but I hate hypocrisy within the church)

i'm pretty sure you responded to the wrong person, as Benmc has never stated that he was Christian.

lol no I'm not reading something that has the word "feminism" in it
#72 to #60 - trickytrickster (07/15/2012) [-]
Typical response. I'm not gonna read this because it will educate me beyond my limited knowledge. You won't read something with feminist in it's title that is defending a bible verse that apparently puts down women?
User avatar #87 to #72 - corkscrew (07/15/2012) [-]
It was somewhat of a joke
I didn't read it simply because it said feminism in it
I didn't read it because, as my picture says, I didn't want to read a ******* book

Why are you getting so defensive over something that is obviously out-dated? Women weren't near the level men were because that's how they lived back then. So the bible verse probably says that, do we have to follow that exactly? No. In the bible it also mentions how you can't plant two different crops in the same field, but i'm sure christian farmers still use crop rotation and things as such planting two different crops in the same field. I'm not trying to argue with you or defend anybody, just don't take **** on the internet so serious.

TL;DR Stop whining, and get over it. It's the internet.

Oh gosh, now we are going into the Old Testament!!! My gosh, you really are in way over your head. I'm sorry but as long as people are going to make ignorant statements and I know otherwise, I will defeat it. The New Testament also says that woman, men, slave, and slave owner, are all equal in the eyes of God. So yah...

This "article" barely knows how to use the English language, with all it's grammatical errors. How can I trust it's knowledge of Hebrew to English translation?
Basically, blog posts aren't legitimate sources of information.
#74 to #40 - trickytrickster (07/15/2012) [-]
Then look up it's hebrew to english translations on your own, or just educate yourself on the passages. Why do you think Bible studies are so popular? People have to examine it to understand the actual meaning.
