>Watched Clannad and After Story
>cried like a bitch
>Told to watch Angel Beats, made by same people
>NOPE

Air and Clannad are very similar (in fact I'm convinced Air is an AU clannad where Sanae and Akio are the main characters). You should watch Air.
I'm also told Kanon is good.

Angel Beats is no where as emotional as clannad. I cried to Clannad, didn't even get sad watching Angel Beats.

You soulless bastard. Not even the final episode. Just those simple seconds of the life after they were reincarnated.
User avatar #11 to #10 - SoulRyuu (07/08/2012) [-]
If you want emotional, you should see Ano Hana.
#18 to #11 - munchman (07/08/2012) [-]
Oh god , Ano Hana... I cried manly tears suring that one.

Try watching 5cm per Second. More like 5 depressions per secons...
#19 to #18 - Helle (07/08/2012) [-]
Yeally? i didnt really find that one that depressing actually never felt any sadness or annything. did i miss something or what lol?
#20 to #19 - munchman (07/08/2012) [-]
He nevr managed to find happiness , yet she moved on... How is that not sad?
User avatar #30 to #18 - imnotasian (07/16/2012) [-]
do you know where i can find 5cm dubbed or subbed?
#33 to #30 - munchman (07/19/2012) [-]
Piratebay. I watched the dubbed version , unlike many dubbed anime , it was decent.
User avatar #29 to #11 - imnotasian (07/16/2012) [-]

User avatar #31 to #29 - SoulRyuu (07/16/2012) [-]
There are no dubs of it, as of yet. Only subbed iirc, you should be able to watch it at

I finished ano hana and it was amazing do you know any other sad animes besides the clannad series and angel beats
User avatar #36 to #34 - SoulRyuu (07/20/2012) [-]
Kanon 2006, is made by the same people who made Clannad. So you can expect it to be of somewhat same degree of sadness. Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien, is sad as well.

Grave of the Fireflies is an animated movie, but sad nonetheless. It's about the struggle of 2 orphans, after WWII. So, you can guess, it'll be sad.

the feelings
User avatar #3 - meganinja (07/07/2012) [-]
Actually the Key coffee is in several episodes, such as the one where Otonashi first sees Yui hanging up posters for Girl's Dead Monster.

And I hypothesized that there were so many of the lights in that world because it is a place where everybody's life comes to a happy ending, granting at least one light for each person that's ever been there. Just my theory though
#46 to #3 - Rascal (02/10/2015) [-]
The lights are heavilly implied to be the “souls” (if such a word is appropriate) of former inhabitants, ascending to a higher plane of existence (you can even see one for Kanade at the end of the final episode when it goes to the wide shot after she goes: look in the upper left corner).

Holy **** this is an old comment.

Hello old comment.
User avatar #53 to #52 - meganinja (03/02/2015) [-]
Indeed quite the old comment.
#25 - Rascal (07/10/2012) [-]
Call me heartless if you will, but I will say Clannad was sad, but nothing as close as these people are going nuts about allover the comments, I don't find Clannad that sad, I know what happened, happened, but it wasn't that sad to me, Now Afterstory nearly made me bawl my eyes out, but still not as bad as angel beats where everyone gave their stories as well as a few that left you in curiosity to know what they all longed for to pass on for never having their life lived the way they wanted and fought so hard against someone who was in end trying to help them pass on giving them a normal adolesence, ANGEL BEATS was waaaaaay sadder and had more build up

Damn, I've never felt so "empty" like when I was watching the last episodes of AB. Felt so bad :/
User avatar #26 - majorcris (07/11/2012) [-]
I never finished angel beats, how does it end?
User avatar #27 to #26 - chiefboss (07/11/2012) [-]
keep your precious memories of how great it was and count yourself lucky because the ending is heart wrenching.
#48 to #26 - Rascal (02/10/2015) [-]
Finish it.
If you dropped it because it was too sad, finish it: the ending makes up for it without having to do a ****** reset button like in Clannad.
User avatar #51 to #48 - majorcris (02/11/2015) [-]
dude... three years later?
dafuq
also i didn't end up finishing it because life got in the way
User avatar #23 - llortemageht (07/08/2012) [-]
The name Yuzuru means 'to string', and Otonashi means 'no sound'. Also, the name Hatsune means 'first sound'. So it could be that Otonashi was a properly strung 'instrument' but could make no sound (that is, have no feelings). His sister, Hatsune, was the first to make him feel anything (his first sound), and Kanade was the one who truely brought him to life (in every sense).

The face was photoshopped from Yurippe in Episode Twelve: when she contemplates taking over the world with all the extra computers.
It became a meme.
