Jupiter. What if Jupiter were the same distance from the Earth as the Moon? This is how it would look in our sky. I'd enjoy this view much better.... And this is what it would look like if it were Uranus.

Could you imagine the colossal fucking tides we'd get?!

Actually, I'm pretty sure that the gravitational field on Jupiter would end up pulling us in.

And so you got me thinking and I decided to use math.
If we assumed that we could somehow be orbiting Jupiter you can calculate the size of it in the sky.
It comes out to apparently looking to be 21.42 degrees with the moon only being 0.526 degrees.
So Jupiter would look about 40x as large.

To continue this the orbital speed was calculated to be 18184 m/s or 40677 mi/h.
The Earth would have an orbit of about 36 hours and be moving 17.78x times faster than the moon is now.

Lastly i figured out the Amount of gravity that would be exerted by Jupiter if it was exactly over you. This came out to reducing your weight by about 9%. It would also increase your weight when it's on the opposite side by about the same amount.

And now I'm sleepy from all the math...

If Jupiter were in the same distance as the moon from us we would be pulled into it by it's massive gravitational force. Burn up to a fucking CRISP in entering Jupiter's atmosphere and die.

Then Earth would be the moon.

We would all die by the extreme gravity and throw the solar system off balance and rupture the fabric of space time. This is why we can't have nice things.

Well, you know, except for the fact that the intense gravity would cause us to collide, nearly destroying our planet...

If Jupiter was in the place of the moon its gravity would pull the other towards it causing the planets to crash therefor killing everyone.
Still want that view?

Whilst it tis rather cool, Jupiter's gravitational pull would probably make the Earth its bitch (the Earth would turn into a moon and revolve around jupiter) and we would all die.

If Jupiter replaced our moon, we'd be tidally locked (Earth wouldn't rotate), Jupiter's gravity may suck away our atmosphere and the Earth would become a god awful volcanic mess.

We'd also be twice as close to Jupiter as any of Jupiter's native moons. Because of Jupiter's immense gravity, the Earth would likely end up colliding and being devoured by Jupiter.

Also, the picture is inaccurate because Jupiter would actually fill the entire sky.

wish we had a view like this

We'd also all be fucking dead.
