I think we might be the first generation to have large portions of youth hate the music as well.
#80 to #40 - pipsqueakaso (07/04/2012) [-]
I think it's moreso because, in today's day-in-age with the internet and sites like Youtube, it's much easier to discover new music because it's much more easier to access. Ergo, you have today's youth with much diversified tastes when it comes to music.
User avatar #51 to #40 - szymonf (07/04/2012) [-]
consider the following... rockers hated disco in the 70's. punkers hated pop in the 80's, grunge hated, well once again, pop in the 90's. Rappers hated, well, pop in the 00's, and hipster and metal-fags hate, well everything
User avatar #89 to #51 - TheMather ONLINE (07/04/2012) [-]
Really? I've never seen a metalhead hate on hard or classical rock.
I would say that now in the 10's everyone hates on pop.

is the new stuff considered classic rock
User avatar #411 to #410 - TheMather ONLINE (07/05/2012) [-]
Yes, because classic rock is a genre, not a description. It's not hard enough to be hard rock, but it's far from modern and melodic rock.

Nice random assumption you made by the way.
User avatar #396 to #395 - somepervert (07/04/2012) [-]
No **** , sherlock. Of course i know wealthy people exist. I simply doubt you are wealthy.

And it's not a random assumption, i came to that conclusion by reading your reply to waytodie.
User avatar #398 to #396 - graphically (07/04/2012) [-]
Why? Because I'm on the internet?

And your assumption is based on what exactly?
User avatar #400 to #398 - somepervert (07/04/2012) [-]
No, because when people go on the internet and say they are wealthy, it most likely is ******** .

And how the hell cant you understand why i called you snobby.

Heres a story that happend the other day.
>Me at the school Bus stop waiting for our bus to come(It was late)
>Earlier that day my best mate broke my earphones. So i was listening to The Beatles aloud.
>12 year old group of sluts "Oh my god! Turn that **** off!"
>"Just because somethings old it's **** ?"
>*All of them* "Yes!"
>"Well i guess your 12 years of **** then."
>Flipped the bird then walked off around the corner.
As soon as i walked off they played Justin Bieber...
User avatar #283 to #270 - xxkosukexx (07/04/2012) [-]
I don't think that happened because I have seen this same story like 4 times. And honestly I am guessing you are like between the ages of 15-30, so why the **** would you listen to The Beatles. I enjoy their music quite well too, my favorite song is helter scelter. Seriously though, listen to something of your generation not The Beatles, i mean you can but you sound like a hipster that is all like, "music isn't good anymore durrrrrr lol good music isn't around huehuehuehuehue."
#289 to #283 - pinkamenadiannepie (07/04/2012) [-]
Personally. I'm 14(in b4 "hurr durr young faggot get off the internet"). I've loved the beatles since the age of 3(Parents)... I still have a record player and some of there records. I also love The Police,Wham and Queen.

I mean i respect your opinion good Sir. I've heard people tell this story before but i know it happened because i was there. And i'm sorry if i sound like a Hipster, I do like some of the music my current generation pops out once in a while.

electro house is doin it for me right now, dubstep is just annoying noises slammed together in a jumble of poo, i like rhythmic stuff that i can bounce my head to and relax, not something that will eventually start to sound really annoying, give me headaches, and then start pissing me off when people play it

A constant, white noise that will blaire through the speakers as they are set to 11, the anarchy that we will be forced to endure as we are sent through horrific flashbacks of the T.V. being set too high when you changed to a channel you don't have. The suicide rate will be up over 42% because of this. All hell will break loose as psychiatric patients across the world are sent into a frenzy. And my only hope in this inevitability is that the generation after them be born without ears, for if they are unfortunate enough to be cursed with sound detection they will thoroughly enjoy destroying everything with a sound that resembles a sonic boom, and as old buildings grow weaker, the volume of The Noise will get louder and louder until there is nothing left but The Noise. As The Noise engulfs the world humans will be forced to seek shelter underground, and will devolve into primitive cave beings that I imagine will resemble the Falmer in some way, then as the technology emmiting the Noise begins to wear out, humans will begin to go outside again, build society, have children, evolve technology once again; only to have music be reintroduced to man. Then as music evolves with man it will grow to become louder and louder until one day it grows to resemble a white noise, the very same noise that started the whole ordeal repeats itself and man will be forced to retreat back into solidity, although not always the same style; such as our ancestors who fled to the sea and became fish. As this cycle continues man will continues to evolve and devolve endlessly until one day the sun expands and wipes our miserable race out of the galaxy, but there is still hope, we can prevent this from happening, music cannot exist if there is no hearing, so I advice all of you to cut off your childrens ears, if they cannot hear what we listen to they cannot amplify it, thus breaking the cycle and preventing the catastrophic cycle to end all of man. Take up knives with me brothers and sisters!

I'm sick to death of seeing people saying stuff life, "bring real music back", or "all kids listen to is crappy rap music and justin bieber".

first off, the people who usually say this **** will only ever listen to 'REAL MUSIC', which im assuming to them is like Led Zeppelin, pink floyd etc. yes i like all that too, but do you have any ******* idea how close minded you people who do this look? and also, justin beiber isn't even that famous no more, second of all, it seems that these morons are getting rap music mixed up with pop music, rap has never been hugely popular in all places. you get annoying dicks who doesn't like a song if they a hear a guitar or drums in it, which is extremely annoying, but then you also get the "real music heads", who will hate the song if it doesn't have a guitar or any instrument. its all taste, is it really that ******* hard to accept that its just down to taste and there is different talents in different ways in different genres.
User avatar #144 to #122 - graphically (07/04/2012) [-]
You're making angry assumptions about people who are making assumptions..

1. Not everyone who listens to "real music" only listens hard rock.
2. I wouldn't consider the music you hear on the radio "real music" because it's cultivated. It only exists because a group of businessmen are identifying target demographics that'll make them the most money if they have music made targeted at them. You have companies who hold musicians under contracts that control their entire image and behavior, down to what they even want to sing about.

3. I consider mainstream music to be terrible because the credit for the song goes entirely to the name being sold, instead of the people who are sitting in front of computers creating the actual music. The beat, rhythm and harmony is often synthesized on a program, along with the voice being edited to accommodate the taste of the times. The real artists would be those people.

But whatever, you posted as anon, so I don't expect you to stand behind your opinion.
