They should breed on that dog, it obviously shows some sort of sign of evolution kicking in, seeing as it's several times smarter than most other dogs.

Boarder collies are the smartest dogs, and the standard poodle comes in second. I'm sure more of that breed could do what that dog does if people took time to train them.

They didn't have phones back then.....

Why would you need a phone if you have someone next to you writing down the **** you say?

That comment didn't have anything to do with phones.
User avatar #41 to #39 - SniperKitty (07/02/2012) [-]
There isn't always going to BE someone writing down the things you say, which is why he taught himself how to use it with his tongue....
#42 to #41 - nsfwanon (07/02/2012) [-]
He couldn't use a phone properly anyway, he had no use of his hands. And if he was blind and couldn't use his hands, I'm pretty sure that there would always be someone there to look after him, or at least most of the time.
User avatar #43 to #42 - SniperKitty (07/02/2012) [-]
Yes but if you lack hands, you want to have much freedom from others helping you as possible. If you can learn to cope and do something alone without the aid of another then you would rather do that than people waiting on you because you are less abled than them.

The use of that machine was to send messages far away, much like a telephone but they didn't have them. If you use it, you are basically using it to call someone far away, not talk to them across the room. He can not write a letter because he has no use of his hands or eyes, he can not make a phone call because he wasn't born in the correct time period. He isn't using the machine to talk to someone across the room -.-

You can't say you did it yourself then. How much more meaningful, especially for someone not normally able to do for themselves, would it be to DO it without any assistance.

Yes you could lie to everyone else and say you did, but you can never lie to yourself, you will always know you never accomplished it.

That was not a border collie, it's a husky. And border collies are the smartest breed of dog out there and the best for learning tricks and commands. When you factor in terriers who are terrible at things like that it brings the number that the average dog can learn way down. So even though that dog is impressive when judged against other border collies she wouldn't be as impressive.
