because my ears hate headphones

I kno that feel, my phone can play youtube vids with sound, but i have uuto use earphones for my radio

#86 to #85 - ronyx ONLINE (06/30/2012) [-]
That's because the earphones act as an antenna. I on't have an iphone only an old and cheap mp3 player and its the same thing. I can't listen to radio without plugging the headphones because it acts as an antenna.

I got one too because I thought that It would last forever, after it broke after 3 months of having it I found out that they generally fail a lot quicker than touch screens because of their hard drive, so we got another one free due to warranty and that one isnt working that well either

the one that I had before I used the warranty was completely screwed up, the one after the warranty freezes up, I restart it every time to turn it on
User avatar #70 - camdonwin (06/30/2012) [-]
i've ranted about this exact thing for years.

of course the speaker's quality would be so bad you'd want to kill yourself, but sometimse you forget your headphones and simply must get your beiber on whilst riding public transportation so you can share your lovely (earsplitting) music ( ******** ) with everyone on board.

Just saying, a PC has this too...
#60 - thebaker (06/30/2012) [-]
That's because it's a buzzer, it just goes "buzz" or in this case "click". To play music you would need a completely different circuit and a speaker instead.
User avatar #79 to #60 - camdonwin (06/30/2012) [-]
pretty sure i found the speaker, motherboard for an ipod classic: http://www.rapidrepair.com/guides/ipodclassic2g/big/classic2gboardonlybig.jpg

bottom right hand corner, part number: 4R7
User avatar #72 to #60 - camdonwin (06/30/2012) [-]
wrong, in order to produce digital noise you need a speaker.

FUN FACT, the reason it ******* was to emulate the analog clicking noise that the original ipod made, and was intended to give the user a solid feeling when scrolling from song to song.

how many G does that thing have?
my nokia cellphone have 8g and it has more music then i can listen
User avatar #74 to #57 - camdonwin (06/30/2012) [-]
i dont know if they still sell it, (they should) but there's a 250 gig classic one last i heard.
User avatar #61 to #57 - jdistasio (06/30/2012) [-]
Standard meaning the cheapest one of that variety. like, the classics, iPod touch, iPod nano and iPod shuffle.
User avatar #59 to #57 - jdistasio (06/30/2012) [-]
It depends on which one you buy. the classics usually come with a standard 30gb hard drive. the ones with more space cost more. But i went with an iPod touch so i can play games and **** when I'm bored at work/school.
User avatar #62 to #59 - guiguito (06/30/2012) [-]
holy **** 30gb? well, at least i don't have to sync
User avatar #75 to #62 - alwaysfresh (06/30/2012) [-]
my classic has 160 gb. It's amazing. I have about 4,000 song and 7 movies and I still have about 100 gb left. Possibly more.
User avatar #67 to #62 - jdistasio (06/30/2012) [-]
Once i get home i plug my iPod into my computer, so if i do end up downloading new music, it'll sync while it's there.
User avatar #56 - theoriginalzombie (06/30/2012) [-]
It's not a speaker man, it's more like sound processor or board if you will. Kinda like how if you bash your keyboard when the computer's just starting up, you'll hear clicks and beeps.
User avatar #58 to #56 - xaser (06/30/2012) [-]
that beep is your mother bored speaker and works just like a speaker.
User avatar #65 to #58 - theoriginalzombie (06/30/2012) [-]
It may work like a speaker but it sure won't do a good job. I mean, if you like your music being turned into NES tunes that's fine and dandy, but for listening purposes I can't imagine it working out well.
User avatar #81 to #65 - xaser (06/30/2012) [-]
k what i thought you meant was it wasn't a speaker
User avatar #78 to #65 - camdonwin (06/30/2012) [-]
this is true about the quality. also i think i found the speaker, here is the motherboard of an ipod classic:

http://www.rapidrepair.com/guides/ipodclassic2g/big/classic2gboardonlybig.jpg

the part number is 4R7 and its in the bottom right hand corner.

User avatar #50 - garyleneville (06/30/2012) [-]
I actually find it useful because...

A. Only douchebags play music in public off their phones.
B. It would go off all the time in awkward situations.
User avatar #91 to #50 - anonymouslytrollin (06/30/2012) [-]
yeah, especially the ******* ******* on the bus that play their horrible ass rap... it sounds like youre pedaling backwards on a stationary bike with a black guy talking about how much weed he smokes in the backround

It's obviously not a very good speaker... Listening to music through them would just be painful. Just sayin
User avatar #45 - Aspirin (06/30/2012) [-]
Ah, Apple logic.
User avatar #44 - rattman (06/30/2012) [-]
what if it is trying to stop you from playing music aloud in public?
