Protip: It doesn't have an audio driver for the speaker. Those clicks are processor based. If you WERE to play music out of it, it wouldn't be precise and would just sound like cheese oozing out of a penis.

Then melt some cheese into your penis and test it out.

tried some beats today, they were really good. But I guess most headphones are good when you compare them to 5 dollar headphones

It's not a speaker, just a clicker. It can't make any noise but click.
User avatar #3 to #2 - Lambda (06/30/2012) [-]
oh, I take that back. It can buzz, I'm pretty sure.
User avatar #4 to #3 - swimmingprodigy (06/30/2012) [-]
what about the 1st gen Ipod Touch, that had enough speaker to make the annoying alarm noise which sounded like a Nokia Brick ring tone?
#9 to #4 - negarspls (06/30/2012) [-]
I am listening with a 1st gen iPod Touch now 0__o.

Never. I despise people who do that. But say you're out with somebody and you're like "Hey man. I just downloaded this new song. Have you heard it?" and he's like "Nah, ****** . I haven't. Lemmie listen." Then you can only listen through headphones. I know I'm being picky, but it's fairly frustrating.

problem?
#60 - thebaker (06/30/2012) [-]
That's because it's a buzzer, it just goes "buzz" or in this case "click". To play music you would need a completely different circuit and a speaker instead.
User avatar #72 to #60 - camdonwin (06/30/2012) [-]
wrong, in order to produce digital noise you need a speaker.

FUN FACT, the reason it clicked was to emulate the analog clicking noise that the original ipod made, and was intended to give the user a solid feeling when scrolling from song to song.

User avatar #79 to #60 - camdonwin (06/30/2012) [-]
pretty sure i found the speaker, motherboard for an ipod classic: http://www.rapidrepair.com/guides/ipodclassic2g/big/classic2gboardonlybig.jpg

bottom right hand corner, part number: 4R7

I actually find it useful because...

A. Only douchebags play music in public off their phones.
B. It would go off all the time in awkward situations.
#52 to #50 - anon (06/30/2012) [-]
Except that that is an iPod not an iPhone...

yeah, especially the ******* ******* on the bus that play their horrible ass rap... it sounds like youre pedaling backwards on a stationary bike with a black guy talking about how much weed he smokes in the backround
#48 - phantomnigger (06/30/2012) [-]
It's obviously not a very good speaker... Listening to music through them would just be painful. Just sayin

User avatar #70 - camdonwin (06/30/2012) [-]
i've ranted about this exact thing for years.

of course the speaker's quality would be so bad you'd want to kill yourself, but sometimse you forget your headphones and simply must get your beiber on whilst riding public transportation so you can share your lovely (earsplitting) music ( ******** ) with everyone on board.
User avatar #57 - guiguito (06/30/2012) [-]
how many G does that thing have?
my nokia cellphone have 8g and it has more music then i can listen
User avatar #59 to #57 - jdistasio (06/30/2012) [-]
It depends on which one you buy. the classics usually come with a standard 30gb hard drive. the ones with more space cost more. But i went with an iPod touch so i can play games and **** when I'm bored at work/school.
User avatar #62 to #59 - guiguito (06/30/2012) [-]
holy **** 30gb? well, at least i don't have to sync
User avatar #75 to #62 - alwaysfresh (06/30/2012) [-]
my classic has 160 gb. It's amazing. I have about 4,000 song and 7 movies and I still have about 100 gb left. Possibly more.
User avatar #67 to #62 - jdistasio (06/30/2012) [-]
Once i get home i plug my iPod into my computer, so if i do end up downloading new music, it'll sync while it's there.
User avatar #61 to #57 - jdistasio (06/30/2012) [-]
Standard meaning the cheapest one of that variety. like, the classics, iPod touch, iPod nano and iPod shuffle.
User avatar #74 to #57 - camdonwin (06/30/2012) [-]
i dont know if they still sell it, (they should) but there's a 250 gig classic one last i heard.
User avatar #45 - Aspirin (06/30/2012) [-]
Ah, Apple logic.
