Then the boy's mother can sue that woman for being in the way of her son's ball.

I swear to god, every time there's a slight absence of outrageous cases in U.S., some ignorant retard has to go and break the streak.

Does this dumb bitch realize she's suing a KID that was simply playing baseball?

Its the american way!

I'm American, and even I think a lot of lawsuits in this country are ******** . She went to the field knowing full ******* well she could get hit.

Along with that goes the McDonald's case. When on this green Earth is freshly-poured coffee NOT hot? People in this country need some ******* common sense.
User avatar #11 to #10 - eonsmashface (06/24/2012) [-]
have you heard the one about the fatass who had a heart and tried suing Mcdonalds?
Because eating extremely unhealthy food wasn't HIS choice.
#61 to #11 - John Cena (06/24/2012) [-]
no he sued on grounds he did not realise how unhealthy mcdonalds food was, because of that mcdonalds now has the nutritional information on all it packaging, he had a perfectly legitimate case and deserved to win.
User avatar #76 to #61 - eonsmashface (06/25/2012) [-]
"he did not realize how unhealthy mcdonalds food was"
The guy was almost 300 pounds.
not to mention he was 56.
I have news for you.
if you weigh that much, and have a heart attack, it's not because you're eating vegetables. Mcdonalds was the definition of unhealthy LONG before they put their Nutritional Values on **** .

Don't try and say it WAS Mcdonalds Fault. They can't physically purchase a burger for you and then force it down your throat.
At 300 pounds, it didn't matter anyway, he could have had a heart from MULTIPLE things. Looks like eating a burger made of death was what caused it.

do you mean heart attack?
i was a bit confused there
User avatar #75 to #21 - eonsmashface (06/25/2012) [-]

I wish people weren't such greedy ***** and would stop suing people for simple accidents

that's why we can't have nice things that haven't been safety checked a thousand times and covered in warning stickers
User avatar #49 to #36 - captainchina (06/24/2012) [-]
like the woman who sued McDonalds because she spilled hot coffee on herself.
User avatar #50 to #49 - SquishyHaribo (06/24/2012) [-]

The coffee was far to hot and gave her third degree burns over thirty percent of her body. The settlement barely covered the skin grafts she got from it. Not really a good example.
User avatar #60 to #54 - SquishyHaribo (06/24/2012) [-]
how can coffee be too hot? you use boiling water to make it so of course it's going to be really bloody hot
if she wasn't such a clumsy bitch with a really ******* hot cup of coffee then she would be okay

it's not a gunsmiths fault if someone shot themselves in the foot with a gun they made (unless of course a fault with the gun caused it to go off unintentionally)
User avatar #68 to #62 - SquishyHaribo (06/24/2012) [-]
it's still a terrible system
america needs free health care so this kind of thing isn't necessary
User avatar #56 to #54 - captainchina (06/24/2012) [-]
perhaps one should be careful with coffee?

That's the thing here, you can sue for anything. The courts just need to start saying "man the **** up and get over it."

User avatar #24 - alcantara (06/24/2012) [-]
Wouldn't this be instantly discarded as a frivolous litigation by the Judge? S/He'd probably go ahead and tell Elizabeth Lloyd that she has a fixed period to show that she shouldn't be fined for presenting such a frivolous lawsuit to the court, too...

Underage persons cannot sue or be sued.
#64 to #45 - John Cena (06/24/2012) [-]
you cannot sue a minor but you can sue the minors legal guardian for the actions or omissions of the minor
User avatar #66 to #64 - Lambda ONLINE (06/24/2012) [-]
That would definitely be thrown out in court, as the minor would likely be considered too young to be held accountable for that action, especially since that action was not only a mistake but part of a baseball game.
#67 to #66 - John Cena (06/24/2012) [-]
Probably not as you can look at nettleship v weston dictating that he is accountable for his actions however if the damage was unlikely see stone v dobson or precautions had been taken, see Latimer AEC then he would not be accountable. The article does not explain the intricate details so it impossible to come to a reliable conclusion.
