My friends shaved their heads when I got cancer, it made me feel a hell of a lot better, more confident, and able to make it through my treatment with their support.

I had Leukemia when I was in 5th grade and lost all my hair so I was allowed to wear a hat. Some bully thought it would be funny to steal my hat, not knowing I was bald. Upon discovering this, he started laughing hysterically. About 5-6 of my friends came out of the woodwork and beat the ever-loving snot out of him. THOSE are good friends.

Leukemia is basically cancer of the blood and yes, it is treatable with Chemo. Went thru rounds of the stuff and now I can barely stand the color. That sickly yellow-green.

My best friend, who had passed away a year ago, also had Leukemia. We all shaved our heads (all us guys) for him. He definitely felt better. I'm glad we were 18-19 years old and not young to be tormented like what had happened to you. I'm glad you're a survivor, though. Congrats, my bro!

My condolences to your friend. Cancer is not an easy war to fight but I'm sure it was made easier with your friendship

Honestly i find this ridiculous as hell, not only because it doesn't change anything at all, but also I think that if I had cancer and everybody did this I'd feel like ****. When you have an illness like that the last thing you want is everyone pitying you, especially in a way that it seems that getting your head shaved is the worst part of cancer.
