I had Leukemia when I was in 5th grade and lost all my hair so I was allowed to wear a hat. Some bully thought it would be funny to steal my hat, not knowing I was bald. Upon discovering this, he started laughing hysterically. About 5-6 of my friends came out of the woodwork and beat the ever-loving snot out of him. THOSE are good friends.

My best friend, who had passed away a year ago, also had Leukemia. We all shaved our heads (all us guys) for him. He definitely felt better. I'm glad we were 18-19 years old and not young to be tormented like what had happened to you. I'm glad you're a survivor, though. Congrats, my bro!

My condolences to your friend. Cancer is not an easy war to fight but I'm sure it was made easier with your friendship

Is Leukemia treatable? And I must say great job for winning the battle against it!
User avatar #75 to #56 - rknight (06/13/2012) [-]
Leukemia is basically cancer of the blood and yes, it is treatable with Chemo. Went thru rounds of the stuff and now I can barely stand the color. That sickly yellow-green.

My friends shaved their heads when I got cancer, it made me feel a hell of a lot better, more confident, and able to make it through my treatment with their support.

I like having my hair ultra short, almost shaved practically.

Honestly i find this ridiculous as hell, not only because it doesn't change anything at all, but also I think that if I had cancer and everybody did this I'd feel like **** . When you have an illness like that the last thing you want is everyone pitying you, especially in a way that it seems that getting your head shaved is the worst part of cancer.

He's dreams still died.
Just like him.

More like "Son, your friend has cancer, so you're going to shave your head in support of him."

"Dad, what is cancer?"

yeah but what about the *******
User avatar #67 - glasgowrangers (06/13/2012) [-]
I wouldn't like it.

I'd rather everyone just to act like normal not all make a huge thing of me being bald. Everyone is different though, i guess you're not too worried about being bald if you have cancer. Still wouldn't like it
User avatar #58 - chayio (06/13/2012) [-]
This is retarded, I feel sorry for the kid, not because he has cancer, but because his friends have enough pity on him to make him feel like **** , its as if, an entire class came to school in a wheelchair because of one student or in crutches.
