Golden Wheel Spider.

"mildly venomous ... not known to be harmful to humans"

Google it. It primarily lives in the desert and only rolls away from its natural predator.

That isn't an excuse. Let me tell you about a little nice state called Germany in 1939. They were the strongest war force and economy and extremely ambitious and thought they could rule the world.

Sadly they were too ambitious because in the end they provoked a coalition of countries and that was their doom.

Implying that America would admit going to a country for oil?
And having prices drop, would indeed show everyone that that was the reason why we went over there. Kind of hard to keep it a secret that way..

And do you honestly think the US Government would lower gas prices if they had huge amounts of oil that most people aren't aware of, just from the goodness of their hearts? LOOOL

The majority of the supplies that were sent over the Atlantic from the US to England were gunned down by U-boats, until the English cracked the enigma code. Also, there were only 7 US pilots in the battle of Britain, which was regarded as the turning point of WW2.

Although then you can take in D-day I guess, the matter of the two front war is a good point.

The US did help England defeat the Nazis, but the US didn't win WW2 like some idiotic yanks claim

In case you haven't notice, the global economy isn't it's best right now, but the U.S. still has the highest GDP by at least 20%.

I would agree with WW1, but WW2 we came in 2 years after it started. The only stuff that happened was France and Poland getting the **** kicked out of them, and Britain stopping an invasion of the British Isles. The main fighting didn't happen until 1942, and the US did nearly all the work in the Pacific, except for Australia helping. And WW1 would have gone waaaaay different without the US intervening, since we came in right when the Western front was being reinforced from troops on the Russian front.

Funny thing, the U.S. had the right to fight in both of those wars. WW1: Zimmerman Telegram, sinking of the Lusitania by German U-boats. WW2: Bombing of Pearl Harbor. Also, Americans don't believe that the U.S. won WW1/2, we believe that the Allies won.

And Americans never even wanted to be at war. In World War I, the common American didn't want to go to war. Especially not in Europe. Hell, a lot of Americans were uneducated and didn't even know where Europe was, why should they care? They entered the war because Germany said that they would help Mexico attack the US when the Great War was over. Even before that Americans were still mad at them because of their U-Boat warfare. Although America was ranked 18 in the strongest military at the time, they were almost the deciding factor. Think about it. Europeans were fighting for years. They was mentally drained, emotionally drained, physically drained, but Americans were eager when they got in Europe. America didn't bring a strong army, they brought fresh legs and shear numbers.
As with WWII, I have not once heard an American say that we (I'm an American) defeated the Nazis. I have heard them say that we kicked Japan's asses, which is not entirely true. Yes, I'm sure that there are plenty of dumb Americans that think we personally defeated Hitler, but I have yet to meet them. I thankfully live in an area of educated people.
Before anyone thinks I'm trying to start an argument, I'm really not trying to. I simply want Europeans to realize that America did help in the war and that we're not as self-centered as you think (hard to believe, I know), and for Americans to pay attention in their history class.

I had learned that too. Another reason that America stayed out of it was because there were American citizens who supported one side, and American citizens who sided with the other.
The British blockade on Germany made it so America could not trade with their third biggest trading partner. There were also a lot of German immigrants who felt nationalistic pride and sided with Germany. As you said, there were also Irish and Scottish immigrants who hated the British for what they did to their ancestors and family.
On the other hand, many considered Germany to be the "Bully of Europe." When they first called U-Boat warfare, they destroyed a cruise which had I believe 128 Americans on it. We were pissed, but they called it off and we stayed back. Then they called it on again. However, the final straw was when America intercepted the Zimmerman Note. As I said, it was a note to Mexico saying that Germany will help them defeat America. That right there was an open declaration of war.

While I agree with many of your points, I wouldn't say that the American forces were the deciding factor because of numbers or freshness, but rather the sense of urgency it gave the Germans. The arrival of the Americans forced the Germans into the Ludendorff offensive, an assault which spread their lines incredibly thin and left them vulnerable to the Hundred days offensive, the final battles of the war. The Americans were very involved in the final days, but their greatest contribution was indirect.

actually, i may be wrong, but i believe that the war in europe against germany was actually recognized as the only conflict in human history to have a defined side of who's fighting for good and bad. but youre right, i shouldnt have referred to japan like that. i was just confused because it was needless to say that japan was fighting too cuz thats who america was fighting against.

i understand what youre trying to say completely, but i just disagree with it. i do understand he thought he was trying to "cleanse the world" and that he thought he was right for doing so, but he caused the death of millions of people. but there's also serial killers that knew they were doing bad and would kill just for the thrill of that. it may just be how i perceive it personally, but i dont understand how people like that cant be considered bad guys.

no i don't, but it did end a war. japanese soldiers were trained to keep fighting until their numbers are completely decimated. if we had kept fighting, we would have seriously depleted their population. it was a tough call but it needed to be done. they also bombed pearl harbor right after they had ambassadors come to the white house and negotiate a non violence pact, who got on a plane back to japan just minutes before the bombing occurred.

The Japanese were hilariously technologically outmatched by every Western Nation, they didn't even have armoured warfare. They were never a threat. Evidence is the Soviet-Japanese Manchunian war in 45, they japanese suffered the worst loss in their military history and were utterly destroyed in china by russia

Japan fought Russia in 1905, and Japan beat the **** out of Russia. And Japan was taking China nearly unopposed. I don't know where you got that info but it's waay off.

That's a completely different conflict, don't tell me you don't even know when ww2 was? I am talking about the battles that took place in 1945, when Russia was no longer under the Tsar family's rule.

In 1945, Japan was pushed out of Manchuria and was focused on holding on to islands. The Russians didn't have much to do with the Pacific war. And they did actually have Tanks, although extremely outmatched by the American and Soviet tanks.

Yeah but the utter defeat in China left them alone on their island and was a major cause to their surrender, they lost very heavily in china

They were losing the war badly after their navy was destroyed at Midway, but they were far from technologically obsolete. Their army may have been outdated but they had better, fanatical soldiers to make up for it. Their navy was massive and very advanced, they had carriers that were much larger and complex then ours. But the only reason that they surrendered was that we nuked two large cities.

Dude you can't say they had better soldiers than the Soviets, they lost men by the millions and never got demoralised and kept pushing, losing 20 million men in all the Russians had the bravest men. They were outdated in tech though that's the thing, asia has always been behind the west until recently, when they "Westernised" as it's known. Their military strategies were also obsolete.

The Russians made their soldiers less afraid of the enemy then their own leaders, it was either get killed in battle or executed at home. The Japanese had troops who looked for fights and wasn't afraid of death in any way, in fact they welcomed it. They thought that fighting and dying in battle was a very honorable thing to do, so they were not afraid to die. That is what made the Japanese so hard to fight, they fought to the last man, woman, and child. If we didn't nuke them into surrender, there wouldn't be the nation of Japan. Because if we invaded they would have fought to the last.

well I will have to respectfully disagree, most other nations if they lost such a large chunk of their population like the soviets did, 20mill, would have given up. Yet the soviets showed no intention of wavering and kept going, they would also fight to the last man their motives for doing so is irrelevant.

The soviets didn't lose 20 million people over the course of WW2, they lost 20 million during the early agricultural and social reforms when it first started out. But, they did lose many more troops than most nations since they would just charge heavily defended German installations with sheer force of numbers. But I don't think that is as brave as the Japanese, as one Japanese soldier would have charged that same installation on his own. He would have got massacred, but I didn't say they were smart. But the Russians were pretty damn brave too.

So the world berates the US for for showing up to a war late which it had no involvement in, whereas now the world berates the US for fighting wars that are not their own.

Funny.
