Why I always carry my gun

Some morbid humor.

What is the smallest caliber you trust to protect
The Beretta Jetfire:
My personal favorite defense gun has always been a Beretta Jetfire in
22 short. I have carried it for many years including while hiking. I
never leave without it in my pocket.
Of course the first rule when hiking in the wilderness is to use the
Buddy System". This means you NEVER hike alone, you bring a
friend, companion, or family member because if something happens
there is someone to go to get help.
I remember one time while hiking with my girlfriend in northern Alberta
and out of nowhere came this huge brown bear charging us and was
she mad. We must have been near one of her cubs. Anyway, if I had
not had my little Jetfire I would not be here today.
Just one shot to my girlsand' s knee cap was all it took. " " " " the bear
got her and I was able to escape nojust walking at a brisk pace.
It' s one of the best pistols in my collection...

I'd rather have a 9mm or an fn 57. I've shot the 5-7 before, and holy **** was it awesome. It's like a 22 or steroids. The recoil is just a little bit over a 22 also. I've also shot the beretta 92fs, but I don't think it will stop a bear. Somewhere around a 40 to a 38 will be your best bet.

Of course he made the right choice. The .22 is too weak of a bullet to down a bear, i personally recommend the .45 to handle all your minorities, wildlife, and ex wife needs. The stopping power and damage provided by this caliber not only guarantees you the best possible life expectancy, it also gores your enemies in a flash of bone and marrow that will impress onlookers and scare would be heroes back to their lairs. make the right choice. purchase a .45 today.

Yeah, go do that, see how much you will piss the bear off.

the **** did you just say?

Consent of the ballistic sciences is you shouldn't go lower than a stiff 9mm load to trust your life on.
User avatar #364 to #302 - BowChickaBowWow (06/05/2012) [-]
I don't trust anything with a caliber that doesn't start in .4.
User avatar #365 to #364 - techketzer (06/05/2012) [-]
What's wrong with a 12 gauge?
User avatar #369 to #365 - BowChickaBowWow (06/05/2012) [-]
That would be a .7.
User avatar #372 to #369 - techketzer (06/05/2012) [-]
Doesn't start with .4.
User avatar #374 to #372 - BowChickaBowWow (06/05/2012) [-]
It's also extraordinarily hard to carry a shotgun around, Whereas handguns chambered in either 10mm Auto or .45ACP are perfect to carry. Unless you have lady hands, in which case you need to get a dainty little .380 Auto so you don't break a nail or piss off the person trying to rape you.
User avatar #330 to #302 - unhappyspanners (06/05/2012) [-]
Still, a 9mm round will not always stop a man. Maybe a .45 acp, like that found in the M1911, would be a safer bet?
User avatar #336 to #330 - techketzer (06/05/2012) [-]
Yeah, but 9mm allows you higher magazine capacity so you can double-tap the ****** right ahead.
User avatar #345 to #336 - unhappyspanners (06/05/2012) [-]
I suppose you're right.
Now, if I wanted to stop a charging bear...

.22 short won't stop **** , unless you are some kind of annie oakley marksman, and maybe not even then because thats one short barrel.

In conclusion:
a) No stopping power
b) No accuracy
c) It looks like a little girls gun

Someone pass me a Desert Eagle .50
#383 to #299 - ihavealargehat (06/10/2012) [-]
Let me shoot you with a .22 and see how you handle it.

Might as well just say Desert Eagle. I mean, really, it's either .50 or .357 but either way it'll be enough to stop a bear.
User avatar #334 to #299 - tacotacoboy (06/05/2012) [-]
alright anon, I'm not going to be a dick about this but here's the facts
1. You're right about no accuracy, you couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with one of these from 50 yards.
2. You're wrong about no stopping power, these things kill people BECAUSE the bullet is so small. It penetrates and bounces off of bones and other internal **** ripping your insides to shreds because it just can't get out.
3. May look like a little girls gun, still a gun, still lethal.
4. Go shoot a desert eagle then come back and tell us how your doctor visit went while your shoulder is dislocated.
User avatar #301 to #299 - circuitouscone (06/05/2012) [-]
Never fired a Desert Eagle then CoD ****** .

It'll rip your tiny little arms off.
