This "every body is beautiful" campaign **** has 2 problems.

ONE. Being over weight is unhealthy. It's not gross to me. It's depressing. why would you do that to yourself? Being overweight is unhealthy. period. Don't you love yourself enough to be healthy?...

TWO. If you're "TOO" skinny, (i.e. overactive metabolisms) they call you some names that hurt just as much as being called a whale.

so "Every body is beautiful" is turning into "unhealthy is ok. If youre too skinny gtfo."

And I'm pretty ******* tired of people telling me "0" is not a size. obviously it ******* is. because its what clothes me. Just because it's not YOUR size, doesn't mean it "isn't right".

I've been called Tweaker, toothpick, anorexic **** , chicken legs, bird neck, zombie-bitch, and crack head........ Because of the fact that my metabolism is over-active. And I can't help that... I can't change it until my metabolism slows down as I age and have children. I'm too young for that right now.....I can't help my weight, and people call me names for it.

Look at my hands... and my bones poking at my skin.

This girl above me, however, can help it. She can lose the weight through healthy diet and exercise.

And this girl above me honestly doesn't give a **** about what you guys below her are going to say.

Pic related; I'm also an aspiring actress.. So I put my skinny body up on the stage for everybody to judge and make comments on while I'm acting.

And I'm pretty ******* happy with my body no matter what anybody has to say.

Oh yeah, another thing, some people CAN'T HELP IT.
Just like you, they can have problems in their metabolism that ]slow down their metabolism(aka hypothyroidism), and they could also have other diseases like Cushing's syndrome. While you have a good point, you can't assume that all people that are obese can cure themselves as easy as you propose, because they have obstacles reaching normal body composition, just like you.
#683 to #521 - ExorArgus (06/03/2012) [-]
All that is true but what about the people who do not have those problems and are using it as an excuse? eg People who say they have a bad metabolism, but they have never had it tested and are just asserting it.

You know you're doing the same exact thing right? You're saying it's perfectly fine to be underweight but if you're overweight it's "unhealthy and depressing." Just so you know being underweight is not healthy. Also you should probably read a book or two about the subject before you judge it because what you said is not true.

i completely respect what your saying, but theres one problem. you're stating that you cant help how skinny you are because you you cant change your metabolism. which is completely true, but most people who are over weight arent choosing to be unhealthy, they just have low metabolisms. i play sports all year round and eat very healthy, never fast food, minimal carbs, all homemade goodness with vegies and fruits. but im still 5'7 160 pounds. i have a friend who runs a mile every day and is vegetarian, and shes 5'3, 180. so if your metabolism can make you underweight, other peopls metabolism can make them overweight. not everyone who is fat chooses to be so.

So you are saying you have tried :reducing your total caloric intake, exercising daily, and getting the required nutrients for more then a week?

What your saying is that you can't lose weight

Gastric bypass: Problem solved
User avatar #447 to #435 - cecilyxassassin (06/03/2012) [-]
Problem solved? I'm sorry If I don't have the money for that. And yes, I've tried all of those. Still am actually.
PLUS the fact that I'M STILL A TEENAGER....
#454 to #447 - ExorArgus (06/03/2012) [-]
If your a teenager and you are this worried about your weight you REALLY should redefine your priorities.
User avatar #471 to #454 - cecilyxassassin (06/03/2012) [-]
"this worried about your weight".... I am worried about my weight. I always have been. Mostly because of media. I'm not saying it's their fault that I"m always worried, but most teenagers are REALLY worried about their weight. It effects a LOT of people in their teens. I'm sorry if you're just too dense to realize that or not. And by the way, my priorities aren't losing weight. They are finishing my college classes, graduating high school, making sure I have enough money for cheer camp (yes a fat girl is a cheerleader. deal with it) and finally church camp. and THOSE are just my summer priorities.
#514 to #471 - ExorArgus (06/03/2012) [-]
You really should starting thinking for your self and not just take everything the mass media gives you at face value.
User avatar #523 to #514 - cecilyxassassin (06/03/2012) [-]
Coming from someone who suggested gastric bypass.
I think DO think of myself, but that labels me as selfish. I can't just drop everything I've seen in media and say " **** it I'm fat and they can suck it."

But I still say I'm beautiful. And the girl in the picture? Gorgeous. I don't care if you don't think so. I judge someone by their attitude, and obviously this girl's got the right one.
#564 to #523 - ExorArgus (06/03/2012) [-]
Why cant you just say "I'm fat and whoever thinks that it is a negative attribute can go blow a goat."

And as I've already said; if you are UNABLE to lose weight through conventional means and you still feel that you need to lose weight why is surgery a bad option. Also i never said all fat people should get a gastric bypass I'm saying the people who have exhausted all other options should.
User avatar #574 to #564 - cecilyxassassin (06/03/2012) [-]
1. I'm a teenager. I'm going to have SOOO much luck telling my parents I want gastric bypass.
2. All of the negative effects of the surgery.

User avatar #446 to #435 - froggoddess (06/03/2012) [-]
Gastric bypass is extreme, and not to be taken lightly. I've watched my mom struggle with it for a year and a half. She can't eat certain foods, they make her puke. My uncle can't eat certain foods, they make him **** . You're on dietary restrictions for the rest of your life, and it's hard. There's no going back from that.
#448 to #446 - ExorArgus (06/03/2012) [-]
I know its not, but if they (as they say) are UNABLE to lose weight through convention means why would that not be a legitimate solution. Unless of course they havn't really tried very hard...
User avatar #476 to #448 - flingwing (06/03/2012) [-]
ok so would you rather be a little fat or struggle with the limitations caused by an overkill surgery? geez

User avatar #438 to #405 - froggoddess (06/03/2012) [-]
You know what? Because of a complication with my pregnancy that I had NO CONTROL over, I gained 70lbs when I was pregnant. A year of diet and exercise later, I'm STILL not down to prepregnancy weight.

I didn't do that to myself. People with thyroid issues don't do it to themselves, or with naturally low metabolisms. Medications that save (or prevent) lives often have weight gain as a side effect.

Weight gain is out of some people's control, just like your metabolism is out of yours. Please don't judge me because I am overweight. I'll try to afford you the same courtesy.

But I AM going to judge you on your personality, which I frankly find offensive.
User avatar #443 to #438 - Skriver (06/03/2012) [-]

That's the beautiful thing about the internet, we all wear a mask and take security in the idea that we'll never be connected to the facades we put up in actual life. Because of this, the more ugly characteristics of ourselves tend to be exposed since we aren't afraid of the "permanence" of reality and let things slip, and if someone sees how ugly we are we can just invent a new identity and no one would notice.

He just said SOME PEOPLE CAN'T HELP THEIR WEIGHT EITHER! Just because YOU have a metabolism that works fast doesn't mean everyone does, and SOME people have a metabolism that works SLOWER. So they ARE big, and they CAN'T lose weight. I know a girl who is like this, it genetically runs in her family, she's about as big as this girl, eats like a bird, and works out a lot. She was in marching band and strong as ever, but she can't lose weight.

It's unhealthy when you're in a body weight that is unhealthy for your person. I agree to that, but not ALL overweight people are unhealthy. Some of them are naturally bigger than others, just like some people are naturally skinny. I have a curvy body, I had a hard time finding a boyfriend because everyone wanted the "size 0" and I'm not a size 0, I'm an 8, I have hips and an ass, I work out a lot, I've had a baby, but I will not and physically can not get to a lower size. I'm not "fat" by any means, my body is just curvy and I'm not a pole. That's NATURAL for me, just like my friend back in marching band, she's overweight but it's NATURAL for her, she just has a very very slow metabolism.
