Because more people are too lazy to download Chrome or they don't use the internet that often, OR they use Firefox.

actually chrome is expected to surpass IE soon, as 26% on the internet browser usage is IE and 25% is Chrome and chrome is expected to continue to rise while IE is expected to continue falling

He forgot to say a *smart* lazy person.

Maybe "clever" would fit better there...

No cocksuck. I work in software in a predominately Windows shop, and i see how their enterprise software has all kinds of inconsistencies. You see? I know what the **** I'm talking about.

That philosophy just results in a lazy person doing a ****** job at whatever he does, so you just get a ****** product. Easy as that. And i see it every day. And i sure as **** don't use a dirty Mac *shiver*.

Windows Vista Read bellow for the real reason (if interested)

Windows has an "on off" release cycle meaning one cycle is for testing and one is for major consumers and companies.

They do this in order to test new ideas while also maintaining a functional user friendly system that people will want to buy. For every OS Microsoft releases there is a brother.

Usually the odd number release (XP, 7) is the stable, secure, and liked release and the even number (ME, Vista, 8) are the "Improved, New" versions.

Now remember Improved/New also means new bugs and issues. They want to try out ideas but this is the only real way to do it with so many different systems.

So TL:DR = Even number release is testing new ideas
Odd number is improving stability and performance.
